On Board a Viking River Cruise in the South of France

- One week aboard a river cruise in France-- sound like a dream? Well it is on a Viking River Cruise in Provence! I took my mom on board Viking's France, a mother-daughter trip that we had been dreaming about for years. Our floating home was the 190 passenger luxury longship, calmly cruising through Provence's rolling hills, ancient villages and balmy summer sunshine. From Lyon to Arles, Avignon to Viviers, we sipped fine wines made on the same hillsides we were watching from our terrace dinner table, dining on exquisite meals helmed by Chef Moustafa, and soaked up the peaceful scenery from all the outdoor areas.
Our Veranda Stateroom was not large but it was so well laid out, we were very comfortable retiring to our room after long days of exploring. Our balcony was a highlight and allowed us to take in France's beautiful riversides from the comfort of our own room.
The public interior spaces of the boat were polished wood, clean, crisp and nautical, in a Nordic style which I appreciate.
The staff are the heart and soul of the ship. Giving us their energy, smiles and help all day long. Everyone went above and beyond, from the housekeepers to the servers, the maitre d'hotel to the concierge, the Viking team added that extra special care that goes along way for guests.
Of course, the excurisions and Viking guides were top notch, and that is for my next video.
*Special consideration to Viking River Cruises for hosting us.

I love Viking River cruises!
Me too! I've been on 3 so far and each have been incredible.
Was this trip paid for by you with your own money, or was it a free trip from Viking?
Take me with youuuu
Two points. Why would you ever stay in your room and what is it noteworthy that you can stay in touch with people at home?
For what you pay….get up on the deck and socialize. Meet new people. Bring your phone and leave the laptop at home!
