I have a pair of SVS PB 4000’s
I’d like to sell, just over a year old.
Looking to upgrade to JTR.
at 1:52, I'm fairly certain the two given responses are of the entire system
+/-3dB and +/-6dB implies that at 22 Hz the response is -3dB, and at 19 Hz the response is -6dB
It just gives a more detailed idea for the roll-off of the response
It would not make sense for the passive membrane to be given separately, especially as the response of the passive membranes drops the higher you go due to their mass. It would not be -6dB at 350 Hz, but instead much much quieter
It would not make sense especially due to how "ported" enclosures work (phase-shifting). For example, below the tuning frequency, the active driver and passive driver are significantly out of phase. While both move a lot of air, the sound cancels out.
It is a beautifully made sub. I admit for theater use I am a flat/satin black finish guy. Can't wait to hear comparisons with other subs.

I’m really interested in those, but I need to upgrade some components in my system first (my AVR can’t handle 4OHM speakers and doesn’t have pre-outs). Hopefully I can sometime this year.
