Actually at this point in time (2009), he was already a year sober. His influence for the album came from television shows and documentaries involving crime and serial killers. He was fascinated by the minds of psychopaths that he incorporated their qualities into his rhymes. This album was a fun exercise for him to experiment with flows and accents to help him redevelop his motor skills he lost due to his addiction.

he actually said about this album, he used to read and consume a bunch of horror/suspense/thriller/disturbing shit at that time. the whole album was while he was coming back after he od-ed and he wrote some of them still on his getting out of drugs process.

The track is off of " Relapse " , his first album after quitting drugs (which is funny considering the lyrics), which was produced from top to bottom by Dre (with the exception of the song Beautiful). His persona on that album is that of a serial killer, rapist, mentally diseased maniac. My favorite album from him due to the evergreen instrumentals and the absolutely perfect melodic flows and hooks he delivers throughout. You should really, like REALLY check out " Stay Wide Awake ", " Music Box ", " Underground ", " Taking My Ball " " Elevator ", " 3 AM ", " My Mom " and when you find the time, just give it listen top to bottom to Relapse and Relapse: Refill which is the bonus disc (where Music Box, Taking My Ball and Elevator are). Love this channel, always good to see Snook Chaos, dude has swag for days.
