One thing that you can do to finally be able to figure out how you like your shelves is to declutter some books that you don't want anymore, for whatever reason. I found i was in your same position where I continued to keep changing my shelves and to no avail found a set up I liked. I did a unhaul of books I didn't love and it helped so much! It will allow you to really like what you see because even if you don't think you are what you , most likely, are looking at is the books you don't like and it makes you to not like the setup. I hope this helps you in your bookshelf dilemma.
never let anyone tell you what you can or can't do. Your passion and dedication are truly inspiring. You have a lot of people supporting you. Can't wait for news on your book :D
I love your vlogs so much! You could literally sit the camera and read and I would watch hahaha. I’m waiting for my copy of an enchantment of Ravens in the mail and I’m so excited!
I actually really enjoyed this reading vlog, I have enjoyed every single one of your reading vlogs. I'm looking forward to them every week!=) I'm also looking forward to your writing and reading vlogs! I'm sure they'll be awesome!
I love your vlogs, I vlogged my week of spookathon too simply because your vlogs are always super interesting so they inspired me :) I need to read the hazel wood- that cover though 😍
I admire your ability to write something good without really planning. I have like thirty word documents and a three page describtion of every character and still don´t think I can start writing. I look really forward to your novel!
(Thought I’d be nice and let you know that the challenges you did are actually the ones from last years spookathon😅) Anyway, I actually really enjoyed this vlog, strangely enough watching you not do much was actually quite interesting😂x
Bit of advice on NaNoWriMo: you will need a VERY strict outline, because nine times out of ten you will go off of your original plotline because you need the words. With a strict outline, you can just check off the required scenes you need instead of wondering where to take the scene from there.
I found this video really enjoyable still! I am so inspired by your videos to do mine and your shelves are goals even if you're in a mid-shelf crisis. THE RAINBOW IS BOMB. Love you hailey xxx
I too am always frustrated that I have too many things I want to do and not enough time to do them. I totally feel you there! AND I also feel like things never turn out to be as good as they are in my mind, but I think that's true for any creative person. Just remember that when other people see/read it, they won't know what you had in mind and to them, it'll just be a cool thing that you created from scratch! That's what I try to tell myself, anyway lol
Still enjoyed your vlog! It's okay that you think this vlog is kinda boring, but I liked that it is realistic! Not everyday and every moment in a month are spectacular and thats okay! I am really amazed hoe many books you read in one week! I am proud of myself if I can finish one book a week! :)
The challenges ur doing are for last year spookathon. Looooove ur vlogs. Challenges: Thriller Spooky Setting Orange on Cover Spooky Word in the Title Childhood Fear I did the same thing. My first TBR was for the 2016 spookathon challenges
Ah, good to know! It was the first video that came up with the challenges, I didn't even check the date. My bad! I didn't finish them anyways so oh well hahaha!
Hailey in Bookland I only read 3 books too and just doubled up on some of the challenges. They didnt fit perfectly with the challenges but I made them it anyways lol
I am so excited for NaNoWriMo to be part of your vlogging! I'm doing NaNo for the first time this year as well, so it's gonna be really helpful and encouraging seeing you do it too. Good luck with your writing!
so today at Disney Springs I bought an alice box with a shirt and pin in it and I thought of you actually so it's so funny you got a poster with the same picture on it!
Yessss NaNoWriMo!! I'm doing it this year but using it to kick my butt in gear and hopefully finish my current WIP since I'm already at 40, 000 words for it. Good luck with your writing project 😊
I'm in college in Michigan, and we do poster sales, but they're nowhere as awesome as yours seems to be! I love all the ones you chose! Do you have any idea of where to find them on the internet or the company that was at your old school?
I can't wait to get the new illustrated HP book! I'm trying to wait until Christmas so someone else can buy it for me...because they're not the cheapest books ever. I'm going to a signing for All The Crooked Saints this month; I haven't read it yet, since I'm hoping to pick it up at the event, but I love and trust Maggie Stiefvater, and I hope you like it. Those maps are absolutely gorgeous (especially the metallic ones!!!!).
The Harry Potter book looks great! I'm thinking about starting the Harry Potter book series. I loved the movies but have never actually read the books :/ should I go for it? Are they an amazing read like everyone says? Your vlog was great as always Hailey, and don't worry things don't always go as planned - we are only human
The challenges I did were way different, I think you did last year's, but it's cool! For a thriller I read Now I Rise by Kiersten White, for a book with a spooky setting, and a book based on a childhood fear, I read Through the Woods by Emily Carrol, and for a book with Orange on the cover and a spooky word in the title I read Windwitch by Susan Dennard :)
If I could give you some unsolicited writing advice (writer to writer) I would say to start with your antagonist/villain. Develop them first, even before the main character. Make them real and complex, get to know their motivation, desires, fears, and how they take their coffee. This so crucial because everything that happens to your protagonist is in response TOO your antagonist- there would be no reason for the plot or story without them. Best of luck with NaNo!
I'm wondering how they plan to do books 4-7 too. Like, maybe they'll split them into multiple volumes? But then at the same time, I kind of want to see those giant bricks lol
Or hey, what about vlogging a bit of you taking insta pics for bookstagram? Some behind the scenes look if you will whenever you feel like there's not much footage ?
I'm debating to get my laptop from my moms house and continue my WIP that I started two years ago. Help! I'm also debating to just start writing on my phone with the pages app.
Are you planning on making a stand-alone novel or a whole series with the Urban fantasy idea? P.s. I love you and your videos sooo much❤️ I’ll read anything you write😁
They do poster sales in the States as well. At least at the university that I went to in TX. Also doing Nanowrimo this year. It's my third year doing it and I'm already wondering why the hell I keep doing this to myself. Haha. Good luck!
I felt the same way about The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer - just waiting for it to have a point. I really enjoyed it and want to read the other two but I'm hoping the plot line becomes more obvious

Amaya Jade no way! You’re incredibly talented, I love it!
Hailey in Bookland thank you so much!
Your painting is so pretty!

never let anyone tell you what you can or can't do. Your passion and dedication are truly inspiring. You have a lot of people supporting you. Can't wait for news on your book :D
I absolutely love your vlogs!!
Never stop doing them pls😋
I love your vlogs so much! You could literally sit the camera and read and I would watch hahaha. I’m waiting for my copy of an enchantment of Ravens in the mail and I’m so excited!

I love your vlogs, I vlogged my week of spookathon too simply because your vlogs are always super interesting so they inspired me :) I need to read the hazel wood- that cover though 😍
YAY! I love your reading vlogs 😍❤️ Love you Hailey!! 📚💛
So glad you still posted this vlog. I love them even when you think they are short or boring. You are awesome Hailey! Have a great week
I admire your ability to write something good without really planning. I have like thirty word documents and a three page describtion of every character and still don´t think I can start writing. I look really forward to your novel!
I'm so jealous about The Hazel Wood!! And we have already the translated version of 13 minutes in The Netherlands :O
I seriously love your reading vlogs.
(Thought I’d be nice and let you know that the challenges you did are actually the ones from last years spookathon😅)
Anyway, I actually really enjoyed this vlog, strangely enough watching you not do much was actually quite interesting😂x
Also, I recently read 13 Minutes and I really enjoyed it, would definitely recommend picking it up :) x
I totally agree! I really enjoyed it!
Those illustrations are GORGEOUS

What does NaNoWriMo means?
It is National Novel Writing Month. You try to write 50,000 words during November.
I found this video really enjoyable still! I am so inspired by your videos to do mine and your shelves are goals even if you're in a mid-shelf crisis. THE RAINBOW IS BOMB. Love you hailey xxx
I LIVE FOR THESE VLOGS I DON'T CARE HOW BORING THEY ARE
Not every week has to be exciting so no worries, we ain't going anywhere :)
I too am always frustrated that I have too many things I want to do and not enough time to do them. I totally feel you there! I used to go to Dalhousie in Halifax and they had a poster week every year with similar posters! I love your posters they are super cute!
Still enjoyed your vlog! It's okay that you think this vlog is kinda boring, but I liked that it is realistic! Not everyday and every moment in a month are spectacular and thats okay! I am really amazed hoe many books you read in one week! I am proud of myself if I can finish one book a week! :)
Fun fact! We do the poster sale at my school and we're in Greensboro NC!!! That's so cool!! I love the posters you found!

I am so excited for NaNoWriMo to be part of your vlogging! I'm doing NaNo for the first time this year as well, so it's gonna be really helpful and encouraging seeing you do it too. Good luck with your writing!

I waited 12 years in Azkaban for this.

I tried the 24 hour readathon, I read about 600 pages in 12 hours and decided I wasn’t really enjoying reading, just forcing it so I quit. No regrets

It's across Canada!!
I wanna get the illustrated editions so badly!!!

Oh you are using last years challenges I was confused on the challenges
Do the HP illustrated editions have the full text of the books or is it just told in bits and pieces of the story?
Yaryna it's the complete book :)
Saskatchewan universities also do the poster sale..... So cross-canada sale.... I guess
Where did you get the silver and gold world atlas posters from?

How many books do you read in a month guys
Chaimaa Ahouidache I read about 4-6
scoobysims yup great work
It can be 5 (max) or it can be only one, depends on the book and how busy i am... what about you ?
last month read 9. My best was 16. This month 7 so far.
elizewyn hh I'm still a beginner I read one or half hhh
it wasn't boring, but you should say what the books were briefly and more than just a rating. good luck with your book!!!
During a chunk of this video I ended up staring at the plate of pizza behind you :P
💕💕💕💕
If they started selling the pictures on the Harry Potter illustrated books as posters/pictures you can frame they would make some serious cash...
What a title 😂
teachers nowadays do not even care about how we feel
yayyyy
Wow you're doing NaNoWriMo! Have fun :)
Hi Hailey! I would love to send you a gift for Christmas! 🙂 I sent you an email... Have a great day!
Plz don't show the illustrations. I have yet to read it. I wanna be spellbound when I see them.
I wouldn't title your videos boring, because that doesn't encourage people to watch them
