I think I’m using the same backup light since 2018. I think it sold with a lot different of names. I bought one in 2018 (30 euro AliExpress) and I did >100 tech dives and also cave dives. I did also use it at a 3 hours dive at felicitas when my primary light had a failure. I did like this light more then the heser. Burn time is shorter then my heser, but much more light with 26650 batteries. Brenda de Vries is also using one and I think she did use one at 100 meter or even deeper.
Great review. I bought two as BORUiT XM-L2 LED for 39€ and use them as backups for about a year in cave dives. I like the robustness and simplicity. No knobs etc as you said.
Personally I like the attachment with a line more then directly attached to the bolt snap with some kind of ring or something, because in case of a emergency the line can easily get cut through.
HI Doktor Ben, I went out and got one. Very similar except it didn't come with the tube for 18650 batteries, so I have to use size C battery (3 pcs). Very very bright for the price that is under $50.
@@DoktorBEN Update on the light, the batteries are 26650, not 18650. 2 pcs. of 26650 batteries for the handheld backup light, and 3 pcs. for canister light. Pretty decent performance.
Super Video, vielen Dank für deine ausführliche Review. Sehr gelungenes Videos!
You talk about 18650 LiFePO4 battery which gives both nominal 6,4 V but you have in hand LiOn baterry which gives 7,4V . because of different chemistry. If I chose I would take orcatorch orcad 520D it cost little more than 50$ but still in range. These backups made front heavy . IMO mixing LED as light and alkalines is equal as using electric car with Pb bateries ..it works but it is pointless . More important is battery self - discharging time
This is GUE standard of using alkaline batteries coming from early 2000's when rechargeable batteries were Ni-Mn and had poor reliability and charge holding time. GUE did not update this standard with advantages of technology making it cult-like item, same for any "H" branded items. Here DrBen would be better source of information. I like the versatility of this light accepting variety of cells and voltages (similar to Shearwater computers).
Really neat alternative to the rather pricey options. Thank you for sharing!
I bet all other backup lights (maybe except Heser) come from the same Chinese manufacturer 😄

Yes, I think they’re all produced in the same factory 😄

Yes, knobs are just annoying 😄😄

Yes I do the same. Metal-to-Metal-connections are not recommendable
I do hope you'll do a review on some OEM lights as well.. happy to hear about your honest review on some alternative light options. 😊
Thanks! Do you have a particular light in mind?
Yeah, x-adventurer m650 back up light.. I had the same model but from an unknown brand.. it's basically like a clone.
I can try to get this one
@@DoktorBEN wow appreciated it.
I bought the Heser …… like you said …
Hey Ben, Great review. Can you give your opinion why you chose to review the SecurityInc DF08 (rated 1000 lumen) vs the DF01 (1500 lumen) ?
Well…that were the lights they sent me.

You might even make a tube yourself! Doesn’t seem too complicated

Oh yeah! And you don’t need a tube!
Schönes rewiev. Wo kann man die Lampe beziehen 🤔
In der Beschreibung gibt’s einen Link
Hi Ben. Did you manage to test the burn times with LiPo vs alkaline batteries?
No not yet…but thanks for the reminder

Vielen Dank!

@@DoktorBEN Die TECLINE Tecline Backup Lampe US 16 sieht verdächtig ähnlich aus 🙂

It is anodized aluminium
Hi Ben-
Do you have any review of the NAUTEC valve made in Germany?
No, not yet. Which one do you mean exactly?
@@DoktorBEN Nautec - Tec Valve Trim M25 - Air 230 / PRO Line
Thanks Ben for your support
I see what I can do!

GUE keeps the standard for very good reasons, despite batteries have largely improved. Still, I like that this light is flexible!
Does the attach point for the rope has a smooth surface? It looks like it has sharp angles, that could damage the boltsnap attachment.
No, it has no sharp edges
@asty3841 you can smoothen the edges with a dremel (or even with a small hand file).
Snubbish way to clean the o ring by a piece of toilet paper 😂
