When these machines were new they required lots of maintenance, but now being 80 years old they require lots of work to keep them up to running condition. What a monumental job you just described ,you've got enough work to keep everyone busy for a long time. Without you men we wouldn't have these amazing pieces of history around anymore and the world owes you a huge thankyou . I for cant tell you properly how much I appreciate all the hard work the men do and the dedication it takes to restore and maintain these amazing pieces of history. Not only do the people who are alive today owe you all respect and gratitude but the generations of the future will owe you even more . Im not sure if an old man's feelings mean much but I want to thank everyone who has been involved with the restoration of these pieces of our history a huge thankyou for all you have done and continue to do.
Hats off to all you guys Steve. This vid makes me wonder where to start with all the repairs, but it's best not to think about that too much and just get stuck in.
Well I'm a victim of stug life. So I think starting with the stug III would be a good place to start. Start with something almost easy then work your way up from there
Repair shop with Steve🤠 Keep up the videos mate - you are every bit as entertaining / informative as Kurt. I smile every time I see you have new content
Hi Steve, You've described many years of future employment. The diesel getting into the engine oil on the 110, I once had a similar problem with a Cummins NTC 315. The leak wouldn't occur until engine reached operating temperature. Took me 6 months to discover it was the middle head had an internal crack from the fuel gallery misting diesel into the rocker pushrod oil returns I had to heat the head to 200°F while putting the fuel gallery at pressure and seeing the diesel misting from an almost invisible crack.
So common problems between tanks Worn and stretched out tracks, oil leaks, break hydraulic problems, and starters that fall apart. Sounds like a ton of basic maintenance work. Mr Hewes ??? I love watching his crazy videos where they bring junk around to where to start and drive. Incredible!
Don’t cry about their funding. This whole thing is a rich man’s toy box, he owns a large seafood export business and also isn’t shy about receiving government funding for his seafood business when it’s available. I’m actually surprised he has the balls to charge admission to his museum, though it’s probably a requirement of whatever foundation has been formed to run the museum and of course get large tax breaks. I enjoy their programming, but they better not ever beg for patreon support or other donations - they’ve got ton’s of money behind them.
Good Morning. Another TGIF with Steve! Tanks Getting Inspected and Fixed!!! One T-34 family problem could drive you crazy Steve. You have three and their big brother! Mr Hewes dose have some experience with four of your projects.
Maintenance at AusArmour is like a painter on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, by the time they get from one end to the next it's time to go back and start all over again.
Steve, you mentioned in an earlier video that you wished you could get a Haynes manual on the Leopard tank. Well you can, from Amazon. In fact Haynes do many tank workshop manuals.
I remember the first T34s I saw on pillars in the fence outside a Russian War Cemetary in Poland, and it looked like something welded and shaped by a 1th year apprentice! So if needing to work on those, please don't make it look too good!! And as "The Chieftain" claimed, the fuel tanks outside, if hit and starting to burn, it isn't that much of a problem inside. Finn. Denmark
Impressive that you have the “todo” list in your head, it’s very long! Is one year enough time to get them all sorted? You need to replicate yourself! It would be awesome to have Mr Hewes over to do the Brit tanks!! Hint hint 👍
A sheila up in Cairns called Lottie the tank whisperer could be called in to subbie out some of this work. She’s not too foul on the spanners. Just don’t mention left hand threads. Cheers.
Just a few jobs to fill the odd hour or two! I got tired just listening to the list. Looks like we are in for some entertainment while Steve does all the hard yards.
Pleasant work also includes a good environment, good co workers, a good boss, decent pay, decent hours, etc. Just playing with your favorite toys gets real tired after a few weeks of a bad job. Not saying one way or the other what the situation at this museum is, don’t know.
If you had 10 men it would take you till next armour first to fix all those steve wow things are really falling apart, I guess that happens with old machinery
Shout out too Mr Hewes. Would be cool to see him there to help with the cent and chieftain.
Hell yeah, I'd watch the hell out of that collaboration.
Yeah that'd be great is they felt they could swing them a trip down to visit and repair a few.
Make it happen 👍
Mr Hewes down under special.
Could be a couple of episodes.
Get the lad over for a week or two and have a gander together on the Brit tanks. It'd make for some great content for the two of you.
Mr Hewes yes, but don't forget Jack. Can Ted get a pet passport?

It's impressive how many of the Museum's vehicles are runners rather than taking the easier path of static display.
It really is. I have a hard time keeping the dozen or so old computers I have running. As we speak an Apple ][ is down.
All I could see was - lots of watching Steve work his magic in the coming year 👍👍
Steve has a year of work and new videos here. I really enjoy these videos from Steve and look forward to seeing more of the repairs and maintenance.
The only chore almost as difficult as getting old equipment operating again is KEEPING it operating!
Hats off to all you guys Steve. This vid makes me wonder where to start with all the repairs, but it's best not to think about that too much and just get stuck in.

The T35's the evil twins. Thank you, Steve, for the excellent update on all the AFV's. To see the Sentinel running would be legendary.
wow busy busy, looking forward to the vids
Full time job just to keep them up and running. Keep the videos coming ,their the best out their.
Really looking forward to the Wespe rebuild. One of my favourite model kits from my youth.
The stolen Wespe ....
I second that motion!
Repair shop with Steve🤠
Keep up the videos mate - you are every bit as entertaining / informative as Kurt.
I smile every time I see you have new content
Get cracking lads! Love to see these all up and running next year! LOL. In all seriousness, you're all doing sterling work.
Blimey! Enough there to keep a fully manned up armoured workshop busy for months, never mind a small team in a museum.
Another Great video for Steve!
G'day, man O man you have some work ahead for the repair team, that's great lots more videos to come, cheers, Neil 🤠.
Seeing the Pion running would be truly amazing.
Steve, you are a bloody legend!!!!
Looks like a years worth of work with at least two or three workers. Good luck.
Aussie hoovies garage edition, lots of fun ahead
🎖️⭐🙏🏆❤️🩹🛐
Thank you for sharing this
Awesome update ❤
And I thought my to-fix list was long, wow! XD I'm gonna enjoy every minute of seeing these get worked on!
Thanks :)
Impressive collection to say the least. ❤
You blokes need a maintenance Battalion and not just three mech/ fitters . You all do a fabulous job! Thank you

Need to look after this guy, he seems to know everything about everything.
So common problems between tanks Worn and stretched out tracks, oil leaks, break hydraulic problems, and starters that fall apart. Sounds like a ton of basic maintenance work. Mr Hewes ??? I love watching his crazy videos where they bring junk around to where to start and drive. Incredible!
Wow we are in for a treat. I still want to meet the owner and the accountant. How is all this even affordable?

The Centurion Mk5/1 RAAC is my personal favourite tank because its Australian and because it was used as a highly useful tank in the Vietnam war.
That's a lot of work to be done, quite a schedule for the Tank Wizard...
... and may interesting vids for us!
5:23 Steve, you have my sympathies man. I recommend hot coco, warm blanket and ... LOTS of stretching.
Best of luck Steve. I guess you'll be living there till armourfest next year .
Maintenance at AusArmour is like a painter on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, by the time they get from one end to the next it's time to go back and start all over again.
So glad I got to ride in the T72 this year!
Pretty complete has different meaning for a Tank restorer and a "normal" person.❤❤❤❤❤
plenty of work , doing a great job
just another day in paradise, as for the tracks on the Russian JS-152 , they look fairly tight for one of those
Cool 😎
Might just get it done in time for Armourfest!
And then do it alllll over again :D
Do the different track patterns / treads make much difference for bogging? If so, which are best for hills/mud/snow/roads please?
Steve, you mentioned in an earlier video that you wished you could get a Haynes manual on the Leopard tank. Well you can, from Amazon. In fact Haynes do many tank workshop manuals.
I’d offer to help with the Cent and the Chieftain but I haven’t touched either of them since 87.
I’d love a cabby when they’re running though.
Steve could say, we need to fix everything :D
Any chance of more footage of the Half-Flak ? Thanks.
This is just like all my trucks in my fleet😂🎉🎉🎉
A job for life!
Sweet. is the A7V in the Qld Museum drivable?
週に1台修理しても間に合わないかも。😮
Repairing one a week might not be enough.😮
Looks like no holidays for Steve next year
Please steve get the chieftain sorted for next year when I come back so I can have a ride in it 😍😍
I would love to work with you and the others because the future job I have is being a tank and land vehicle mechanic in the army.
That's an amazing ToDo list...
The Soviet vehicles like to mark their territory.
You are going to be a busy man.
I always wanted the Dinky armoured series of toys as a child but never got them ?
8:38 That's like half a year's worth of oil production. Scoop that up, pass it through a sieve and it should fuel up the engine just fine.
Shout out to Mr Hewes!!!!
Looks like your weekend is stuffed Steve lol
So, to sum up a long weekend and everything will be 100%! LOL that is a long list of work.
And what do you plan to do in your spare time Steve?
I remember the first T34s I saw on pillars in the fence outside a Russian War Cemetary in Poland, and it looked like something welded and shaped by a 1th year apprentice! So if needing to work on those, please don't make it look too good!!

The owner can easily hire as many workers as he desires/needs, he has no shortage of money, no reason to duplicate poor Steve.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
That looks like a lot of work ahead you. On the plus, side more content for the channel! (hint hint)
mhee just a couple of jobs, see if you can't get mr hewes over for a week or two, would be good videos
Steve!
Bloody hell some work their aye, but the fun of life and movement lol
mate i need some springs and wheels for the bren
Ok Steve. Where to start mate?
Looking at the Saladin, I swear I've seen that turret on a M113 way back in my service days. Just my imagination or some sort of aussie version?
The Aussie M113A1 FSV (Fire Support Vehicle) had a Saladin turret
A sheila up in Cairns called Lottie the tank whisperer could be called in to subbie out some of this work.
She’s not too foul on the spanners. Just don’t mention left hand threads. Cheers.
Lottie used to work there , check out Ausarmourfest Video from 2018 .
Don't see the problem. If that guy stops making videos and starts to work the jobs are all done monday morning. There is the whole weekend! 😊
Just a few jobs to fill the odd hour or two! I got tired just listening to the list. Looks like we are in for some entertainment while Steve does all the hard yards.
So a couple of days work there then?
If I worked there I would be in heaven
Pleasant work also includes a good environment, good co workers, a good boss, decent pay, decent hours, etc. Just playing with your favorite toys gets real tired after a few weeks of a bad job. Not saying one way or the other what the situation at this museum is, don’t know.
Too much oil pressure, like when a bearing shell is slipping so the feed holes misalign?
Job security for sure
You ain't tanking if you aren't dripping oil SOMEWHERE.
Many broken or partially broken vehicles. So... Job security!
Clue, get yourselves a mention in the Girls und Panzer anime series. It helped the Finnish Tank Museum, crazy as it sounds.
Helped how? Financing? This is a rich guy’s toy box, no shortage of money. Other help? Well describe it then.
Well, looks like there is plenty of work for you in the comming years! 😁
Such a shame that some of the best looking condition tanks need to be fixed. I was there a few months ago in the school holidays and they looked good.
Dang, i thought they were all ready for the Zombies..
And I thought my “to do” list was long
My God Steve. They're going to have to clone you!
Gotta expect 80 yr old machinery to have an issue or two
5:47 so far to maintain all that you would need a team of 5 people minimum, in a perfect world 20 people would be best...?
A substantial influx of money and manpower is needed. Vehicles breaks down when not in use. No billionaire to court?
Busy week 😂😂
Sounds like the American stuff may be of higher quality, and we probably had a much
larger manufacturing capacity than anybody else at the time.
Ребят ждут долгие вечера в приведении этих монстров к ходовому состоянию. Пожелаю им терпения и запчастей побольше!😊
You need a team of mechanics, not just one (poor) guy. 🙂
Jobs before chrissey time all done for new year drinkies eh
If you had 10 men it would take you till next armour first to fix all those steve wow things are really falling apart, I guess that happens with old machinery
You’ll be working on these defects till armourfest 2026, good luck with it. Most of these ain’t 5 min fixes
So a day or two and all is up and going again ? .......... looks like someone has job security for awhile
Normal soviet era skrap metal 😂😂
:o)❤
