So he basically never was tempted to play for Spain... To be honest, I'd always wished he'd played for Spain, considering he would have won a world cup, while he would have thrived in that 2010 team. However, this was before he won the Copa with Argentina. It may not be a world cup but helping Argentina win their first trophy in 28 years will mean he's now appreciated by Argentinian football fans forever. What would be ideal is if he can guide Argentina to the world cup in 2022. Him not winning a world cup would just be an injustice, especially as he came so close to winning one.
