- British phenom Jonathan Haggerty and Italian stallion Joseph Lasiri went toe-to-toe in a thrilling flyweight Muay Thai contest at ONE: ETERNAL GLORY. The Englishman established his early dominance with a plethora of left kicks and world-renowned elbows, including a perfectly-timed downward elbow dropping Lasiri in the closing moments of the opening stanza. Though the Italian came roaring back in the second round, Haggerty’s composure proved crucial as he continued to score in the third round and claim a unanimous decision victory.

@@ace_x17 Lethwei is great, I just looked it up. Never heard anything about it. It's very cool. But I still don't understand how lethwei is different from muay thai? Head banging? Or something else?

lethwei is known as the art of nine limbs (punch, kick, knee, elbow, headbutt) whereas muay thai is the art of eight limbs. in lethwei, there is no rules and no judges so the only way to win is by knockout. however, there is one timeout that a fighter can use only once in the fight. for example, if Fighter A knocks out Fighter B, the corner of Fighter B can request a timeout where they basically try to wake the fighter up and refresh him so that he is able to fight again. other than that, there is no rules so it is essentially fireworks for 5 rounds straight and twice as brutal than muay thai

It's a shame as these men are the best athletes. They are tough young heroes determined to hurt each other and give us an awesome display of courage. There were plenty of beautiful cleansing but punishing headshots.

Hagherty is dangerously smart, fast, strong, tall, and highly technical with his switching attacks.. But god damn Lasiri.. To be dominated on the 1st round and come back strong and bringing him the fight unfazed by it all.. Much respect for this bad SMB
