I've had 2 German Short Haired Pointers. One growing up and one as an adult. They are the most wonderful dogs. They are smart and they want to make you happy, because they love you and want you to love them. My 2nd one was 52lbs and she intercepted and stared down/stood her ground with 2 Pitt bulls heading towards me and got them to back down. All she wanted in return was to play and lay next to me (or on me!) on the couch.
