    Hi Sandun,
I really appreciate the time and dedication you put into this video's. I have followed all of them and I have a much better understanding of the topic, thank you for this! I was wondering could you tell me where I can find the video where you explain how to design the DC_Motor_Speed_Controller at 3:08?
    Thank you for your help!
    Mitchell

      Hi Mitchell,
Thank you! I believe I'm referring to this one.

There are number of other topics in the playlist named "Electric Machine Control". If you are looking for a more thorough design, I would follow phase and gain margin approaches for speed control rather than a simple PI based design.
      Best,

    Hi Sandun,
Firstly thankyou for your videos, they are really helpful.
I was wondering if you could do a video on how to attenuate DC link voltage when the converter is operating in regeneration for a synchronous machine. That is; how do we make sure that during this type of operation the DC link does not go up too high, but rather saturates at a certain point.
    Thanks again!

      Hi Sandun,
I hope you are doing well.
I was just wondering if you have given this idea any more thoughts? I've been going over the literature and this seems to be a topic that hasn't been adequately explored.
I'm thinking of perhaps characterising the converter and machine in a way where I send multiple negative q axis current commands in simulation at multiple speeds and see characteristically how the DC bus voltage behaves.I could then plot a curve limiter as a function of these two variables. This is quite a crude method and I'm sure there's a better way of going about it.

    Hi Sandun,
in the Dc_Motor_Speed_Controller block, I don't understand what the Ia_ref refers to. Is it the reference for one stator current of the pmsm?

Hi prof ! is the DC motor in this video is a SENSOR or a RESISTANT CHARGE ? or what is it please ?
the reason for my question is , you have give the SPEED_ref to DC motor and not the Synchnrone one ... e ...

Your question is not clear. Sensor or Resistant Charge? What does that mean?

Thank you very much for making these lecture series. This is very helpful to me for understanding.
I'm stuck in one area. I have used eq. for Tem block Tem=(3/2)(p/2)(Lamba_m_r*iqs_r + (Ld-Lq)*iqs_r*ids_r). But I don't get the desired results. Is this correct? Please reply to me as soon as possible.

Yes, it is correct. Are you comparing with experimental data? If so, make sure the sensor calibration is correct.

Hello Sir, I didn't find the Tem formula that you created with torque_no_test block. I have looked Introduction to Modern Analysis of Electric Machines and Drives by Paul C. Krause. Can you give more reference about it ?
    Thanks a lot

Hi Prof, Is it possible to do with AC Dyno as well? It will be useful to know how we can load the converter with AC dyno and see the dynamic response of converter when there is step change in the load?

    • @SandunKuruppu
      @SandunKuruppu  Рік тому

You could do that, but that would take a little bit longer to run the simulation. The AC machine would act as a generator. The AC dyno will be in speed control mode if the PMSM is in torque control mode and vice versa.

    • @SandunKuruppu

Torque reference is based on the torque needed by the application. Here only the current references are set to achieve a certain amount of torque. Torque reference calculation will be a different video later.
