I gave the Lobster a break for the 2019/2020 season since I hit them pretty hard in 2018/2019. But with a lack of Protein, and only three days left in the season, I figured it would be okay to catch a limit to keep the hunger at bay. I also wanted to take a look to see what kind of prospects we were going to have for the next season. Things look pretty good or at least better than the year before.

I'm stashing dried beans and rice and you're stashing lobster - that just ain't right, Steve!
Pat McDermott
Lol!!!
Right on, bro.! I can dig it.
Its awesome that you explain how to harvest responsibly by going to multiple locations and only taking a few from the larger colonies. Thank you for sharing!
When you said "I dont feel like eating a cat today" 😂💀😂
Thomas Pinter I literally spit out my coffee 😂
@@things971 right i feel out laughing like no he didnt just say that 😂😅🤣
The second nest you found... was like a scene out of an "Aliens" movie, it was so surreal. lol
Nice vids man. Keep up the grind respect you a lot you are just a nice man helping others for something to watch.
Awesome underwater footage! You made me jealous. My mouth was watering watching you eat that buttery tail. Stay safe
I remember seeing a video where a guy froze the carapaces then ground them up to make yellowtail chum. He said there was nothing better and nothing goes to waste.
Ok Steve, you did it again, I'm hungry. Thanks for making my morning.
We should call your channel Key West Kayak Cooking. You lay down some nice meals. I always enjoy.
Back in the 80's I went down to the Keys with just a black iron frying pan some oil and batter a plate and a knife and fork. I camped for two weeks and ate lobster and mangrove snapper every day and night!!😎
El Tropico. You know it man!!! I wish it was like the good ole days now😎
I was feelin a 9' bull shark eyeballing you! I'd be in n out, get it done, lol...nice video Steve...tight lines!
Or a saltwater crocodile..yup no thanks!
That's awesome... Rubbing it into everyones face how we don't have access to sunshine and the outdoors and we're stuck inside... Nice lobsters...
Awesome video! Way to get it done!! Social distancing at its finest! Getting groceries without going to the store! Thank you for sharing 👍
Pure joy with that first taste. So jealous. Great video.
Seriously these types of lobster look like samurai warriors layed out .. amazing
Thanks for all your hard work, I'm learning so much!
Thanks for including the legal vs. illegal sizes. Looks great! Sheraton job and cool video! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hey I'll be over for dinner for the others and I'll bring the brews!! Nice catch bud!
Loved your videos for a couple years now
Hey man I love your channel, I like your style, keep those videos coming
When i was a kid we went lobster hunting at night and came back with 2 large styrofoam filled with lobsters.
I would of loved that i want to go lobster hunting one day
Daaaannggg..,GETTING MEAN MUGGED BY LOBSTERS..😲😂😂😂😂😂
Brother, there is spit flying out of my mouth watching this!Great Vid!!!
"I don't want to have to eat a cat" coming from a Korean is hilarious!
Do you ever keep the heads and boil them for stock?
I used to go lobstering with my family right off Big Pine Key in the early 80's when I was a kid. We used tickle sticks and nets to catch them. I remember having to measure them with some type of plastic measuring stick. If too short, you better throw them back or you could get in some serious trouble. I miss those days and would like to take my 15 year old son there so he can experience what I did. Also the coral reefs and fish are amazing!
Wow. Great under water video. All those snapper hanging around there n that nice grouper
Omg you got me wanting a lobster now. I’d usually just drive down from west palm beach, but we can’t right now.
You're a Jaque Cousteau with all the excellent underwater videography.
Hey Steve, when removing the poop shoot line you should do exactly what you did in the vid except go through the anus instead. There is some connective tissue at the port and so if you go through the anus instead and pull out slowly after twisting it actually pulls out the whole line at once without it breaking in the middle and potentially contaminating the meat. You should try it next year. Nonetheless, great video as usual man! - love from LA, stay safe bud!
Yep even with shrimp, pull it from the ass end and with a steady gentle pull you get the whole thing easily.
yep, same.
"give it a couple of twists as I pull it out" that's what HE said
Lmaooo😂😂
I've been planning a lobster trip to key west for awhile now. All the videos I've seen have been big boats in open water this is the first time I've seen someone in a mangrove area gathering lobster. Where is this at? Or what would I call that habbit? Mangrove swamp? Being able to take our kayaks and not have to charter a boat would make our trip much more budget friendly
Oh that looks so good, really miss the keys.
So are you saying the lobstering around the islands is better when it's colder say January or is it better toward the end of March when it begins warmer
Dude you make me want to go buy a kayak and hook it up like you do, that's incredible awesome video brother keep it up. How much would that set up run for the way you have it?
Based on new prices. Hobie Kayak Revo 16 $2,800 , 2.5 tiller engine $1,000 , side skirt/aka/ama $800, also take into factor on if you need a trailer for kayak $800 - $1,000.
Your a better man than I. I would have lobster once a week. I think i like crab better but lobster is easier to shell.
Wow I've never said holy shit so many times in a row... that's a lot of bugs my dude. Damn!!!!
Please do more cooking content. Please. Your fans are begging you. LOL
We should be down there in July for lobster season. Always great fun!
Lobsters are the best antidote.
Nice feast 🦞 enjoy
♥️ the title 😂🤷🏾♂️ I LOVE THE KEYS too nice 👍🏾 video
How great is that? Endless pasta dishes👌
Damn Steve, didn't know you were suffering like that!!! Hang in there buddy!
Nice video...thanks for making me hungry!
Don't feel like eating a cat tonight's lol good one
Did you just grab them by the antenna or did you use a spear to catch them..??
I live in marathon and I kind of strictly kayak fish. Could you show me some tips and tricks for outrigger and outboard motor? Its very confusing for me.
Would you be willing to share some areas in the upper keys that may be good for lobstering from a kayak. My brother and I are looking to go this season
Super jealous... I'm on the east coast of florida in a over fished spot called Jupiter... we used to get bug like that in close now you have to go into 100 plus foot of water to find slim picking on the bugs....🤙🤙🤙🤙
Brah Jupiter still cool
Lmao brah Jupiter hasn’t been cool in a good 50 plus years. Only yuppies, transplants and yankees think Jupiter is still kool. You think Jupiter is kool now you should have fished it 50 years ago. I’m going to guess you are a transplant moved here 10 years ago and think to know it all about Jupiter. Well sorry to tell you brah you know jack shit. I’m 3rd generation Jupiter native a grandson of a pioneering family that has been in Jupiter over 115yrs. The waterways are dead full of fresh water tolerant fish ie snook. We don’t have 15 inch mangroves or school master or hog snapper or grouper or yellow tails or mutton snapper and many more fish in the water ways still. All them fish are offshore or gone not in the river like they used to be. Oh yeah and the light house and Catos bridge used to be full of live coral and rock as well all dead now. Yeah brah Jupiter is cool alright if your a rich shit bag that likes to window shop and use the river like a wet i95.
There’s a little book called 5000 years on the Loxahatchee river I would suggest reading that and reconsidering the definition of cool
Great job wish i could go lobster hunting right about now
If the black gunk doesn't kill ya it will make you stronger!
I Loved Lobster! Very very tasty! 😋😋😋😋😋
great video. definitely found the honey hole!!!
Look like there are a lot of them. I want some!!
i'm from key west actualy key haven you're making me homesick with fishing and lobster since I moved to Pensacola do you live in key west or another island? love your shows keep up the good work Bueno suerte !!!
Nice ledge , did you explain that the keepers are found 6 feet or deeper Steve ?
YUM! So, who's the lucky lady??? 😘
Delish. You should do this with the rest of your videos!
Lobster condos.
Just subscribed... awesome page brotha
So lobstering in the mangroves is not considered shore? It’s my understanding you can’t lobster from shore within a certain distance.
Nice Video, Steve! Fan from New Jersey, and new to this channel. You mind share where is this location? I searched your notes but couldn't find this location. Thanks a lot man!
Great video! I bet Puma likes lobster too...
Nice catch. Could you tell us how much the license cost and where you are allowed to get them. The rule's
Good video as always keep it up . Oh do another Kayak fishing and ceviche on the water .
Damn a Asian person who speaks with a southern type accent, cool !!
Asian people have been in the south for over a hundred years.
@@cliffcox7643 It's called a joke.
Those look like very healthy ecosystems, that’s great... I heard Florida was a little injured, but maybe the keys are better off, at least the part where you are:). Must be easy to harvest too, they don’t bite like Maine lobster... lol. Nice meal and sea bounty there!
Nice catch Brother
I don't know if its just the camera, but they all look like shorts from here.....Wil Harrison, from the Big Pine, Pine crew of old. MHS class of 80.
Lol “gonna create a whole new virus!”
Stay safe, be smart, stay clean...
Keep on fishing... Peace!
great video, thanks so much!!!!!!!! Huge groups of lobsters, do you just grab them by the antenna?
You made a cool video for 2020 also you did that on the BBQ GRILL one love
Great lobster catch! Because of mask shortage, I am using the mask I bought from your store. It's better than nothing, although it's not properly rated. Will buy more of your stuff. Keep safe and keep on fishing. Steve 😎
Great job. I hope to get some when the season opens again!
Looks great
I love the video. Except that you are making me so hungry!!
Tonight you eat lobster, I eat cat.
You’re making me hungry
Good video
love them lobster video
This is so cool man...living the life 👍
Great video.
Kick ass man. Free fine dining! I miss the coast.
5:32 was that a crime scene, body parts everywhere haha pretty sure that huge grouper was having lobster for lunch 😂
Probly shedded. More likley. Groupers tend to swallow... maybe more like inhale is a better word
Hi there thanks for the video!
can we catch lobsters in Jan? would water be too cold?
I was dreaming of 4 pound Maine lobster last night and this morning I find your video! I’m dynin heea
when did you catch those lobsters?
Nice lobsters for a meal .
What gloves are you using?
Jeez I can't believe how many lobsters are holding in one spot. And they're $30 per pound because....????
Pak De because finding a spot like that requires a lot of effort an skill!
Because you don't go lobstering?
Im starving now thanks bud
It is a lot of work but there is almost equal meat in the head, legs and antennae. it is like picking crab meat. another alternative is to blend up the legs and antennae, strain and make lobster bisque. Waste not want not.
Man you are funny as F*ck! Thanks for the great video
Bravo! N1
Didn't know the lobsters in Florida are the claw-less kind. Out here on the west coast they're all called "spiny lobsters" and they have no claws.
They are called Spiney Lobsters in Florida as well. He even call them Spiney Lobsters.
You damn skippy!
IN North Dakota, we are hoarding Lutefisk!
😨😨😨😨😨😨 !!!
Man, I live up in Venice Florida which is the West Coast and I've yet to try Florida lobster it looks really good I may need to get down there sometime lol
