I bought my ES8 in October 2021 and relied on the promise that the user interface, NOMI and navigation would also offer English with future updates. Before that I drove a BYD Tang which could do all this already! For me as a foreigner, it is very disappointing that NIO in China does not even offer the manual for the car in English. The ES8 is also sold in Europe. So the corresponding language modules for English are available. Many expats have bought an NIO and are now disappointed. You can expect more from a car produced in China for almost 100,000 US dollars (668,000 RMB in the version I drive, with battery purchased).
Out of curiosity, how do you find yours overall? I'm trying to decide between the new ES8, old ET7, and new ET7. I haven't spoken to any owners yet but due to my height, these cars are the only EVs I actually fit in. I do hope that an English version of Nomi is offered in China but am happy that the UI is available in English.
Was very interested in old ES8 with 7 seats. New one with only 6 is not an option for our family. Either we will buy ES7 (5 seats) or simply other option 5 or 7 seats from competitor..... In my own opinion, NIO should really fast announce 7 seat option for new ES8, or some of us do not see point of this vehicle and may end up to shop vehicle from a competitor.
Yeah, it would be a regret. According to NIO Ted said most of people prefer the 6 seats over the 7 seats, and most of time, the 7 seats NIO users would fold down the third row seats then use it as large 5 seats SUV so it's not huge impact for them. However, it may lose some users as well especially for European market and north American market as people in there have more demand for 7 seats SUV. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Too bad, I preferred the older design! This one looks very similar to a lot of other Chinese premium EVs. The interior is better though!
