Yep. These dudes remind me how gripped i was when I watched AOT. There was nothing like it. No matter how powerful and smart you are in that world, it's still cruel and bleak no matter the stance you take.
A parallel that seemed to pass by you guys: When the three of them were sitting on top of the castle and looking at the moon, Furlan turns to Levi and tells him to "have faith in us", with the same tone of voice, the same pauses, and the same delivery that Petra uses when telling Eren to have faith in them when they were running from the Female Titan. And just like Petra and Levi Squad, Furlan and Isabella demonstrate initial success and show that they really _can_ do this and that you have good reason to believe in them, only to ultimately be defeated by a level of enemy that they weren't prepared for. It really shows how much Levi understands what Eren is thinking when Levi tells Eren that Eren has to make the choice; Levi really doesn't know what the right answer is. He's been in this situation before. He's had the exact thing happen to him and been in a situation where he could trust his comrades or try to do it himself. And he tells Eren to make the choice that would leave him with no regrets.
I love that philosophy of Levi, when a decision approaches, we have to choose. You can't sit around and let someone make the decision for you, like Erwin stated. We have to believe in ourselves, or believe in our friends, and we cannot regret the decision we make, only learn from it.
@@slipstream5762 Spoiler for season 3. Yes, it's also ironic how Erwin tells that the day someone else makes a choice for you is the day you die. In his last moments he lets Levi make the choice. Levi made it and that was the day he died.
One of the things about Levi that hits me hard is the fact that he was born and grew up in the underground where sunlight was a luxury. In a way he comes from an even smaller cage than inside the walls. His life story seems to be one that keeps moving out of cages, but unlike Eren, he's too broken deep down to actually dream of freedom in any way. He's been in survival mode the entire time, and nobody knows if he could ever turn that off and actually enjoy life.
Now you know why Levi is the only one in the scouts who holds his odm blades like that. He grips em the way he was taught to grip his shiv when he still lived in the slums lmao

So Idk if you ever talked about it before but this ova pretty much ties into Levi's "you never know how things will turn out" answer to Eren's "do I trust my team or trust myself" dilemma in the giant forest. I love how much depth this added to season 1. Also imagine seeing the titan in the wall cliffhanger and waiting 5 YEARS for season 2.
one change from the manga they did here is the conversation between Levi and Erwin, because Erwin was never cold at all. After holding Levi's blade in his hand, he actually INSPIRED HIM by saying: “Who was it who killed my subordinates? Killed your friends? Was it me? Or was it you? [Levi started to blame himself] No! It’s the titans. Where did they come from? Why do they exist? Why do they kill humans? I don’t have the answers. None of us do. Limited by our ignorance, we’ll continue to be devoured by the titans! If we just stay shut behind the walls, we are never going to escape this nightmare. Take a good look around you! No matter how far you go, there aren’t any walls here. In this open space, I believe there is something there, illuminating our despair. But there are those who seek to prevent us from venturing beyond the walls. They are consumed by selfish thoughts of their own losses and gains from behind the walls where they are safe! It’s only natural. During the past 100 years, hindered by the walls, the eyes of humanity have been clouded. They cannot see the landscape that lies on the other side. But what about you, Levi? Will you let your eyes remain clouded? Will you kill me and return to the darkness of the underground? We will not give up our journey outside the walls. So, Fight for the Survey Corps, Levi! Humanity needs your strength! Erwin admired and recognized Levi's talent, and INSPIRED HIM in his worst moment, showing him theres one big enemy right there and that he has the to power to give a meaning to all those painful deaths. And Levi recognized the truth in this words, and decided to support him, to see what erwin sees, to find a meaning for everything they have lose, and thats why he keeps moving forward with no regrets, and why they can trust in one another as well.
@@Aceofspades928 i feel the same, the ova it's great, absolutely, kind of still thinking it makes more sense to erwin's character the manga speech than the way it happened in the adaptation, but in general the whole product keeps the essence of the manga so it's ok

Hi I'm Japanese and I've been enjoying watching your videos very much. Everyone is talking about waiting so long for the next episode if you were watching real-time, but I have another thing that I would like you all to imagine. I became a fan of Aot when the first episode of manga was released in the magazine, and followed all episodes real-time. Then, a while later, they announced that it would be adapted to anime. Of course we got so excited, and me and my sister waited for the anime to start in front of the TV on the day. Then, we watched the OP movie. Can you imagine how impressed we were? :) The manga was already phenomenal, and the OP movie was just perfect for the masterpiece.
So many people skipped these OVA until the later seasons and so I’m glad you watched them it gives you character insight and history. It also shows you more of how the hierarchy in the units as well as in cities works. They are just as well written as the main episodes and all cannon!!
Yall didn't show it/react to it, but when Levi is talking to his friends on top of the wall, and they basically tell him to trust them, there's a shot where he smiles at them. That shot is really impactful because Levi almost never smiles...which makes it even more heartbreaking when his friends die 😔
something that is also very cool that song that plays in the awesome scenes with the woman singing, it's called Vogel im Käfig, which means "Bird In A Cage" which is basically what they were, 3 birds in that underground cage, and in the end of the OVA we see 2 birds flying free, like Farlan and Isabel are now free and when Isabel first met Levi and Farlan she also had a bird with her
Letsgo boys!! there will be 1 more important ova should watch it after season 3 (Lost girls) also always watch the post credits not just on the final episode secret scenes are coming! Would be a shame to miss the reactions Keep it up!
I can't believe that you guys had actually read my comment where I tried to convince you to watch that post-credit scene. I wanted to get your reaction to it so much and I got it, thanks!!!☺☺☺
One big thing they missed and haven’t really brought up is when Levi held that soldiers hand in season 1 when he was bloody and dying. Despite his compulsion to stay clean. Shows a lot of character. N he tells the guy that’s dying that his death was meaningful and will help him push forward. He’s not heartless :)
Levi going berserk on that abnormal is my favourite scene in the entire show. I've gone back and watched it about a million times in the last couple years. The piano is a perfect juxtaposition to the violence. So sick. Your reactions were spot on as well And I really appreciate that you watched both parts in one video. I don't really watch other reactors but I know they tend to stretch it out as much as possible with one ep per video, but the way you do it creates a natural flow and it's so much better for the viewers. Basically, good job 😂👍🏼
LEVI He is very similar to DARYL from TWD in many aspects, he often does not have a choice, he just want to live in piece but he is ready to sacrifice and serve others, he also always loses the people dearest to him ...in addition to his harsh childhood.
And that's how they start to see Levi with different eyes. And they understand why exactly he's like that. I love it. Their faces when they saw titans inside the walls, everything is just beginning 🔥❤️
That moment after the Female Titan attacked when Levi told Eren to either believe in himself or trust in his comrades, and how even Levi never knows how things will turn out, so Eren shouldn't blame himself either way: all of that was based on his own personal experience illustrated for us in the "No Regrets" OVA. ;-) Also, please watch Season 2 Episode 1 BEFORE watching the Ilse's Notebook OVA, if you choose to watch that one too. There are slight spoilers otherwise.
I watched this show in 2013 when it first aired with my friends and i cannot tell you how loud we all screamed when we watched that end credit scene, it fucking blew our minds and then we had to wait freaking 5 years for second season..i graduated from college and got a job by that time and i had given up hope that i will see how this story concludes but fortunately season 2 came around....
You guys should also watch the Attack on Titan OVA's of Ilse's Notebook, A Sudden Visitor, and Distress before you start Season 2. You should only watch those before Season 2- the other OVA episodes contain spoilers and were meant to be watched after later seasons.
The episodes were great, but I personally wish they'd made them more in line with the manga. In the manga, Farlan and Isabel's deaths were shown, Erwin seemed nicer, Hanji talked to Levi, etc.
I would love to have tea everyday there. I know he will make tea with same consistency of taste. Bloody every shop every time changes some bit here and there and its very annoying.
This is a rather insignificant detail, but the reason Erwin was able to catch Levi's blade without getting his hand sliced was because it lost its sharpness. Levi was also probably exhausted after that fight so he didn't hit with all his strength. Levi slashed that titan so many times and with such force with the same pair of blades that they went completely dull.
When carter gave the prediction for the episode and hit the nail right on the head……..I’m not gonna lie my jaw dropped!!! He needs to get into being a movie writer/critic cuz his input and thought development is elite. Glad you guys watched the OVA with Levi’s backstory 🖤 it gets even better in season 2. One season closer to the finale ✌🏻
“I love Erwin” … Me too, me too, me too. 🙂🙄🙂 And this is why Levi is the way he is. He has one (if not) the biggest hearts. So Badass, yet has a side that surprises and excited viewers. I’m glad y’all get to see this about him moving forward. It’ll definitely help with context in future episodes. 🔥👍🏾
I remember not watching this post credit scene...so when S2 began i was completely lost, like: "what, when did this thing appeared in the wall?". Glad you guys made it in the right order.
By the way if you notice what Erwin tells Levi about not having regrets is what Levi tells Eren when they go into the forest and he wants to fight annie
I have such a high respect for Levi. The first time I watched this OVA, it had me in tears!! I think this OVA shows watchers why Levi is so cold all the time. Bro is traumatized to the extreme. I could only wish the best for him 😭
That fact that y’all loved their fight…. Mannnn I cannot wait till y’all progress into the seasons, they only get better and better, they really considered angle shots
just for people arguing over whether or not this OVA is canon since it wasn't written by Isayama, he's said before that the anime is the definitive version of this story and in later seasons after this OVA aired, Isabel and Farlan can be seen amongst the dead when Levi thinks about his fallen comrades so it's basically been made canon
There are actually 5 or 6 more OVAs that came out after the first season: - Ilse's Notebook: Notes from a Scout Regiment Member - A Sudden Visitor: The Torturous Curse of Adolescence - Distress - Wall Sina, Goodbye (There's a part 1 & 2) - Lost in the Cruel World They're all pretty interesting, but I think the first one is the most intriguing early on in the show. I'm not sure if any of you guys already use MyAnimeList, but the website is really useful for keeping track of what you're watching and making sure you don't miss any OVAs or extras and I highly recommend checking even if it's just to check for OVAs.
If the outro song starts playing and it doesn't say "To be continued" before it, that means there's an after credit scene. There are a few more that pop up later and they are all very important to the story. Figured this would be the easiest way without straight up telling you which episodes have after credit scenes.
At 15:24 - 16:08 when Levi unleashed his rage, that moment giving me flashback when I'm experienced a meltdown period when I was in elementary school because I had a mild autism, at that time I would often throw tantrums at school, cry out loud, also being an aggressive, and my mother had to think about how to make me comfortable when I got home. What I usually do during a meltdown is take a bath, up to almost an hour Then when I felt calm, my mother would invite me to tell her what happened and why I had a tantrum. But if it's a meltdown, I usually can't tell her but I'm can do drawing. My active mom asked questions and got a picture of her answers. Thankfully the older I get, the more I can tell what happened, and this is very important for my mother, so that she can take the next appropriate action
Please don't miss End Credits from Season 2... You'll regret it afterwards if you'll skip them. Trust us and just watch the damn Ending music of every single episode. There are surprises hidden in them.
Glad that you re-watched it :); i left 2 comments in the last episodes to remind you. And other guys as well did. Be careful bcz you will encounter those post credit scenes in the upcoming seasons. greetings from morocco :)

THANK YOU FOR WATCHING THE OVAS. it shows just how emotional Levi actually is, but as a soldier he suppresses his emotions for his men, and this shows just how impactful the loss of his squad was to Annie, but now having seen this you really feel for him, also not sure if you caught it, but im pretty sure Petra was either engaged to or in a relationship with Levi. When they come back from the expedition Petra's father comes up to Levi and speaks about howhe doesnt believe his daughter is ready for marriage

Just to let you know, but in the manga it wasn't just 1 abbarent that took out multiple squads it was a horde of titans. Levi actually came back in time to see both his friends getting killed and then took out the remaining titans of the horde by himself. I believe both Furlan as Isabel got multiple titan kills (including solo kills) in the manga version.. Ofc its much harder to animate so they just went for 1 abbarent
The fact that they actually listen to their viewers and are watching the OVAs. huge props to them fr

Also, please watch Season 2 Episode 1 BEFORE watching the Ilse's Notebook OVA, if you choose to watch that one too. There are slight spoilers otherwise.
not me patiently waiting for y'all to upload today and yesterday, then realizing you guys don't upload weekends lmao
You guys are the REAL ONES FOR REAL. Listening to the viewers, goated video as always
I love rewatching aot through other people, and i love this channels reactions. I can’t wait for them to get to seasons 3 and 4
I watched this show in 2013 when it first aired with my friends and i cannot tell you how loud we all screamed when we watched that end credit scene, it fucking blew our minds and then we had to wait freaking 5 years for second season..i graduated from college and got a job by that time and i had given up hope that i will see how this story concludes but fortunately season 2 came around....
This ova made me cry for days. It still does, rewatching it again after a long time
You guys should also watch the Attack on Titan OVA's of Ilse's Notebook, A Sudden Visitor, and Distress before you start Season 2. You should only watch those before Season 2- the other OVA episodes contain spoilers and were meant to be watched after later seasons.
No! They should watch Ilse AFTER at least the first episode of season 2 or the surprise at certain moment will not be the same.
"There is titans in the wall?!" And the plot thickens ... dum dum dum! Can't wait for you guys to start on season 2
Erwin and Levi are definitely some of the best anime characters ever
The episodes were great, but I personally wish they'd made them more in line with the manga. In the manga, Farlan and Isabel's deaths were shown, Erwin seemed nicer, Hanji talked to Levi, etc.
Now s2 officially begins 👌🏻 can't wait for Monday now 🔥🔥
Fun fact! Levi actually loves tea and collecting it, he wanted to start a tea shop.
Is Levi a nigge-
Uncle Iroh energy 🍵
I would love to have tea everyday there. I know he will make tea with same consistency of taste. Bloody every shop every time changes some bit here and there and its very annoying.
Levi isn't real
@@TheWeirdPianist who said he was
This is a rather insignificant detail, but the reason Erwin was able to catch Levi's blade without getting his hand sliced was because it lost its sharpness.
What I love about AOT is that even in moments where you can guess what will happen, it still catches you off guard at how gruesome it is
"But this guy's looking at something I can't see".
“I love Erwin” … Me too, me too, me too. 🙂🙄🙂
And this is why Levi is the way he is.
I've never seen this ova (or any of them), I'm not gonna skip them next re-watch
My man Levi said “maybe that would happen, to YOU”
By the way if you notice what Erwin tells Levi about not having regrets is what Levi tells Eren when they go into the forest and he wants to fight annie
Miche is always severely underrated among fans, he kept up with levi in this scene. He is only second to Levi and maybe mikasa
i cant watch no regrets without crying. the raw emotion from Levi is so insane and heartbreaking
When you mangareader and see Levi's line:
"I'll never regret this decision"
Manga spoilers
I can’t wait for that salute Levi gives in part 3 to all the dead scouts with that one tear falling down his eye
@@seancarroll5803 I hope third part give us manga ending and fourth part AOE, it would be awesome
I have such a high respect for Levi. The first time I watched this OVA, it had me in tears!! I think this OVA shows watchers why Levi is so cold all the time. Bro is traumatized to the extreme. I could only wish the best for him 😭
i am SO glad you watched this before moving on to the other seasons. BRAVO
I cannot wait for season 2!!!! It’s what really made me LOVE AOT!!! Cannot wait for your reactions!!!
That fact that y’all loved their fight…. Mannnn I cannot wait till y’all progress into the seasons, they only get better and better, they really considered angle shots
Don't forget the other 3 first OVAs before season 2!!
Fun fact: Season 2 released after 4-5 years of Season 1 in real life,
But in storyline the difference between season 1 and 2 is only of 1 DAY!
I hope you watch Ilse's Notebook too, it's a very important OVA. The others are good but not NECESSARY to the story.
los Ovas de Levi siempre me hacen llorar cuando los veo😭 su familia joder. Farlan e Isabel siempre los recordaremos.
just for people arguing over whether or not this OVA is canon since it wasn't written by Isayama, he's said before that the anime is the definitive version of this story and in later seasons after this OVA aired, Isabel and Farlan can be seen amongst the dead when Levi thinks about his fallen comrades so it's basically been made canon
you have become my daily appointment, everyday until 3 March. just thank you guys
OMG! Thank you for watching the OVAs!
There are actually 5 or 6 more OVAs that came out after the first season:
- Ilse's Notebook: Notes from a Scout Regiment Member
- A Sudden Visitor: The Torturous Curse of Adolescence
- Distress
- Wall Sina, Goodbye (There's a part 1 & 2)
- Lost in the Cruel World
They're all pretty interesting, but I think the first one is the most intriguing early on in the show.
I'm not sure if any of you guys already use MyAnimeList, but the website is really useful for keeping track of what you're watching and making sure you don't miss any OVAs or extras and I highly recommend checking even if it's just to check for OVAs.
Its so comforting to watch this after seeing how the anime/manga evolved
The smile on your faces at the end.....😁 ooh! Can't wait for the predictions in season 2!! Lol.
What I usually do during a meltdown is take a bath, up to almost an hour
Then when I felt calm, my mother would invite me to tell her what happened and why I had a tantrum.
So excited that u guys r going to post a video today. Your uploads are the only thing that help me survive the week
There's also Ilse's Notebook. Remember to watch that.
Please don’t miss another reaction. It’s great to see people reacting to this anime. :))
The fact they Erwin knelt down in that same muddy water says "I am no different than you in many ways"
And remember, it was four years of waiting for season 2 for some people
So so excited for season 2. LETS GOOOO!!!!
Levi’s OVA is insane, I love how you got mixed reactions to the peak scene and the intense fight. Can’t wait for your reaction to AoT Season 3 👀
Watch Ilse’s Notebook OVA too!
All the people around him left him
I feel so bad for him
You guys will know later
/CRIES/
I understand you as a manga reader
I’ve already watch s2 ep4 on your Patreon but I come to you guys UA-cam videos just to give them a like 👍
This was such a need to watch OVA I’m glad they seen it
Levi's past made me love his character and he is my favourit character till the end, i can't wait for you guys to see what he is capable to do and why he is one of the strongest of all
THANK YOU FOR WATCHING THE OVAS. it shows just how emotional Levi actually is, but as a soldier he suppresses his emotions for his men, and this shows just how impactful the loss of his squad was to Annie, but now having seen this you really feel for him, also not sure if you caught it, but im pretty sure Petra was either engaged to or in a relationship with Levi. When they come back from the expedition Petra's father comes up to Levi and speaks about howhe doesnt believe his daughter is ready for marriage
that"s why levi says to eren "do whatever you want" when eren was chased by female titan and he had to either trust himself or his comrades
While I was watching this, I just felt like I was out of reality. I felt real emotions for Levi since he has lost EVERYTHING
Was great watching these OVAs through with you guys!
The No Regrets manga is a bit different, but has a bunch of other interesting bits in it that are worth reading.
I won't regret watching AOT.
iv'e grown more of a connection to you all then the main characters of the average show
19:08 Imagine seeing that and than having to wait 4 years for the series to continue
tbh these guys remind me the time when I was diving into the anime, aot also was my first series
really enjoy to watch your reaction, boys
it was so imp that you watch the OVAs, so happy y'all following what the audience are telling you❣️
Season 2 is best season, so excited to rewatch some of my favorite moments with y’all. Y’all’s reaction make me feel like I’m watching the show again for the first time. And let me say, I’m excited to feel season two for the first time again,
I'd say the dialogue between Levi and Erwin hits more in the Manga, y'all should find that dialogue on Reddit or somewhere
いつも楽しいreactionありがとう❤
日本から応援してます。
Omg I never watched the OVA’s 😳thanks for the reaction though ❤😊
Just to let you know, but in the manga it wasn't just 1 abbarent that took out multiple squads it was a horde of titans. Levi actually came back in time to see both his friends getting killed and then took out the remaining titans of the horde by himself. I believe both Furlan as Isabel got multiple titan kills (including solo kills) in the manga version..
Ofc its much harder to animate so they just went for 1 abbarent
