What makes it better is that ever since I first heard the voice, I got instalty gitty to hear the final battle with that voice.

1:30:29 I didn't pick up on it when seeing the pacifist ending for the first time, but this is in reference to the Omega Flowey fight in Undertale, holy crap.
Also, one more thing: The pacifist ending is SIGNIFICANTLY different if you kill Ceroba. It's not neutral, it's an entire different ending.

God the part where Casey forgot her Ceroba voice was so funny. Just the like, several minutes of quiet conversation followed by the distant audio of a previous video.
You probably didn't get a proper look at it because she was killing you, but Ceroba's animation at 59:37 is stunning.
Also, I'm sorry Ian, but Undertale released in 2015. DELTARUNE released in 2018. Undertale will be 9 years old this year.
If you do decide to do a reaction, I'd say also react to what happens if you kill ceroba on the run you just did! Seeing what happens probably isn't worth playing the whole game through again a fourth time but it is worth seeing.

I would like to preface this finale with the note that the original Undertale's pacifist ending didn't make me cry. Ironically, I'm not just trying to be a little contrarian here, it's still fantastic, emotional, but it didn't make me cry.
This game made me sob like a fucking baby. Thank you, Undertale Yellow.
And about the other routes... surely you can be a little contrarian this time, Ian.

@@Gboogie32-ni3ou same honestly. the closest i've ever gotten was the ending to pokémon mystery dungeon: gates to infinity, and that wasn't even really a full cry. just made me sniffly.
Undertale's pacifist ending absolutely broke me. It felt like being lunched in the gut and given a big hug at the same time, especially the line "I dont want to let go." After that, i started developing a dry eye.
This one felt like being hit by a train. I didn't cry, but wow, did this one hit hard. Harder than any of the other endings got me for any game.

UT yellow made me bawl with the whole B plot ceroba story, and the ending. Even if i knew from the start Clover's ending was sealed. both the final words of the characters and the raft scene. "even though you were just a blip in my life, often times those blips make the biggiest impacts."

we're finally getting no oneshot confirmation, im glad to have closure and i can respect your decision. but also despite oneshot's name, it doesnt necessarily have the same sentiment about resets as undertale, and i personally think it'd be rad if yall pursued the rest of what the game has to offer
A beautiful and tragic finale.
Ceroba is a very interesting final boss. She is a symptom of the bigger issue of the underground's hopelessness. Her judgement is stained by grief, regret, and poor decisions, and even she admits she is pretty far gone in her reasoning. But at the core of all of it is still her desire to protect what she cares about, her final boss theme being: A Mother's Love. And in that theme, her final stand uses the Hopes and Dreams leitmotif. Everything is on the line for her.
Clover's sacrifice is a noble one. Their heart of Justice realized that the monsters were unfairly sealed away, and gave their own soul to help work towards freedom. And what a bittersweet end it is. Genuinely has me tear up.
"A mother's love" is SUCH a banger.

I'd love neutral, as well as genocide. At least neutral, if you're not in for the murdery murder stuff.
I'd recommend playing neutral first and then genocide (or vengeance as people like to call it). There is a big reason you should do it this way, but I don't wanna spoil what it is.

I just want to say, that I really appreciate how much love and respect you had and still have for the game in the whole series. You really made me feel like experiencing Undertale for the first time, without haste and really focused on what's going on in the world and the story. So yea, I just wanted to say thank you for your videos on Undertale Yellow and making me feel like a teenager being obsessed with a silly game from a silly dog again. ❤

Oh btw very important!! There's 3 endings you haven't gotten, one for killing ceroba in pacifist, one in the neutral ending (u have to kill any monster BEFORE ending the fight with Axis) and the last ending which is the no mercy route (killing everyone). They're pretty different and I think you'll love it :)
It's very rare that media content has a profound emotional impact on me -- funnily enough, the last time I had a good cry as a result of consuming content was when I watched Bo Burnham's _Inside_ all the way through from start to finish -- and usually I don't get too worked up over anything.
Gotta say, I could feel some fluttering in my chest from the way this ended, and it's gotten me to the early stages of that choked-up feeling you get in your throat from being upset. That's some real good writing for a fangame, and it's cool to see how strongly a game or a piece of media can leave an impact on someone, especially to the point of going so far as to make a fan work derived from it that shoots for the same impact. And hits.
Originally, I wasn't gonna play this game. I figured I'd just watch you play it like I did for Deltatraveller, but after watching the first episode, I could tell this game would be special. I mean, it was free anyways, so what did I have to lose? So I downloaded it.
God am I glad I did that.
This game was such a treat start to finish. You can seriously feel the love that was poured into it. The writing, the animation and spritework, the music, the battles, all phenomenal. And that pacifist ending... I'm not the type of person to cry over video games, but I genuinely thought I was going to. All I could think about was how much I love these characters (especially Martlet, and even Dalv despite how little screen time he got compared to the other three), and any game that can make me feel emotions over pixels on a screen is a damn good game in my book.
Thanks for being the reason I gave this game a shot! It was fun watching you two play it as well, almost like playing it for the first time again. But I did the other two routes as well (well, besides Flawed Pacifist because I don't want to do an entire second Pacifist run just to kill Ceroba at the end), and let me tell you, you absolutely need to do them too.
I will say for Neutral specifically that there are major changes starting at the Steamworks as long as you kill someone before then. I believe you mentioned the idea of killing all of the bosses, which would be a good idea since, like Undertale, their deaths are different when it's not Genocide. Sorry if any of that was too spoilery... Whatever you decide to do, I'm looking forward to it!

I just wanted to say that I came across your channel by your undertale yellow content, and I've really enjoyed it the whole way through, and not to mention it makes it even better because honestly you guys are hilarious, i don't really know how to describe it but watching your playthrough felt like when i first played undertale, which has been and still is a big part of my life for a lot of reasons that I'm not gonna get into other than i wasn't going too great mentally, and seeing this playthrough brought back the happy feeling from back then, what I'm trying to say is, thank you for giving me that special feeling and being amazing, I really hope you do the other routes, I'd love to see your reactions, and i haven't actually seen all of the justice route, either, and honestly i think I'm gonna hold off incase you do it, stay amazing

This game is everything I felt in Undertale, and more. Undertale has always been the inspiration for everything creative that I do, and for like.. 7 years or so, it’s been the only thing that’s really captured my heart. And to have something so unique yet familiar come into my life has really made an impact. And I’m especially glad I watched you two play it.
I loved watching you guys play this game, I can’t find anyone else who’s played it to be as entertaining as this ride has been. I’d adore watching yall play the other routes cause I truly know that I couldn’t watch someone else play it and still be as impacted as much as this playthrough.
Whatever you decide to do, I will watch it with as much enthusiasm as I always have been. Thank you for introducing, and playing such a wonderful game.

Man. Can you imagine the amount of BS Ceroba would have gone through if this game released back in 2016? People could barely handle Asgore and Alphys, imagine what they’d do with someone that genuinely made a shitty decision
58:31 Well, no, remember, the reason she wants a human soul is so she can merge it with a Boss Monster soul in an attempt to complete Chujin's work and create a super-soldier-serum type thing to make anyone able to become a boss monster, so they might have a chance against humanity when (if) they wage war.
Ceroba knew Kanako wasn't coming back the whole time, no matter what she did. It was just a trick to get Clover to the Lab. At this point, of course, nobody knows about Alphys' discoveries about determination as a substance, so Ceroba's sure it's not even a possibility that she could bring Kanako back somehow.
I would love to see you guys play the other two endings.this first one was so fun to watch and cheered me up instantly. Hoping to see you guys back on this after your break. ❤
This is the first time in a very long while that a game has made me cry. Holy shit that ending. One punch after another. The death. The funeral. The call. God that hurt. Bravo to everyone who worked on this. Not only did it feel like another Undertale, it left with the same emotional impact and brilliant story telling. My heart aches for Clover. For the fact that we're never gonna see Dalv, Martlet, Star and Ceroba again.
I fully understand not wanting to do the other routes. This one hurt enough already. But doing pacifist first always gives the other routes more weight. I also really want to see your reactions to everything. This playthrough is the only direct contact I've had with Undertale Yellow and I would love to see the neutral and the vengeance ending with you two.
Late us share the pain. So that we all can remember that it truly is worth it to be kind.

I think the mask is something they had for a long while and after Kanako and Chujin died she used the research and what was left of the soul extract to make the mask turn someone into a boss monster temporarily
Ceroba doesn't melt down like Undyne and actually putting on the mask is what makes her transform

There's the obvious meta joke that the game dev wants you to stay on a set course. But there's also a certain flower that wants to keep us off the beaten path to avoid infinite timelines of child cowboy murder - though that's not made clear in this route.

Playing Pacifist, only to kill Ceroba at the very end, is my favorite ending in this game.
Neutral is a close second.

@@michaelvisosky743 Yeah no I get what you mean. I didn't realize that you meant the endings. I personally enjoy neutral ending the most, just because of how there is no side that wins in the end. And it is very simple. I like the other endings a lot though. One reason the genocide one was kinda cool though is just the twisted sense of justice it represents, and how you bring home the 5 human's souls, despite killing many just to get to that point. But yeah, other than imagery, there wasn't too much to think about the genocide ending

Watching your pacifist playthrough has been a blast and while it’s completely valid to not play the other routes and be happy with this, I’d be lying if I said your pained reactions to the other routes wouldn’t be incredibly funny.
Genuinely sobbed every time ive seen this ending. I need more to be done with these characters.
Considering you're seemingly playing pre-updated version WOW you did amazing.
First time I fought this fight it was an incredible experience (getting beaten by the unstoppable power of mother, the story is SO good and sad, A mother's love, the song, goes so hard and moment the H&D motif and the scream kicks in always gives me chills) it really goes so hype and if anything it proves the love and dedication the UT community is to the games.
Also, this ending gets me very curious how's Ceroba gonna react to amalgam Kanako and knowing Alphys was pretty much going down same path as Chujin.
Also also yeah, the ballerina the one you find items hidden is the blue soul, integrity.
Also also also close one on the trash dump thing, you buy them from Bratty and Catty and that's where they say they found them, and you didn't pick up on it the "somebody calls for help" is in reference when you call for help in Omega Flowey, Clover is hearing Frisk's call.
I recommend the neutral route next. Just seems fitting to be second

All I will say about the other routes is that they will definitely address a lot of your pressing but unresolved questions. They are both drastically different in their ends and some of the events leading up to them depending on your choices. This game gives such a better neutral experience, it's definitely worth experiencing along with the other route.
Would be great to see the other routes. Maybe even a little reaction to killing Ceroba at the end of this one?
As for Oneshot, at the heart of it all there is a True Best Ending, but I respect Ian's decision. That game is truly special.
To be honest that's one of the reason's I DON'T want to see whatever else Oneshot has to offer. I think there being a "True Best Ending" sours how incredible and poignant the original ending was...

Putting my vote for you guys to do ANY of the optional routes of Undertale Yellow. Ian, y'all have the love and care to take the game seriously, I don't wanna go see another let's play
If anything, please experience the Neutral Route at the minimum! Genocide if you're feeling like it, but Neutral for sure. It truly is a highlight of the game, and you wouldn't typically expect that from a 'Neutral Route'. Please please check it out.
And if you're gonna do the Neutral Route first, make sure to kill the bosses as well. (i.e Decibat, El Bailador, North Star, etc.)

Undertale yellow is SO hecking good and AUGH the ending tears my heart out. This game was so freaking well made and you can tell the amount of love that was put into it.
i was late to watching this playthrough bc i wanted to get through the game myself first but god damn. those first two notes after clover holds their soul out never fail to get the tears falling
i do recommend playing thru neutral before vengeance but neutral honestly isn't all that different until you get to the steamworks so whether you wanna do a full playthrough or just a highlight reel up to that point is up to you. the ending ROCKS though. and i think you're gonna love vengeance too it's so well made

The moment Star put the safety glasses on the boat I actually started bawling my eyes out, Star is my favorite character in this whole game and the whole dual was such big moment in it it simply broke me
"ITs BIGGER" well duh ian the sprite still hit you so of course it counts in undertale asriels ENTIRE lightning bolt counted as a hitbox not JUST the tiny hitbox

I will say, the Neutral route actually has unique content. When you do Neutral, I recommend getting onto the neutral path either before, or at the Starlo fight.
if you do the geno ending, try acting when monsters are beaten up, almost every encounter has some different diallage for most of them and you get to see the other side of clover more from the interactions

Even more so than original undertale, yellow's other routes really flesh out the context of the game and even answer some of the questions you were asking. I also can't imagine they wouldn't be good content. As for the OneShot thing, I'm personally disappointed, I believe solstice really adds something beautiful to the game, but if that's really what you want it's not something I'll continue hoping for.
For every like this gets, I will consider bringing out my guitar and learning to play undertale yellow (the song that plays once clover… you know what I was going to say)

If you do do a neutral route, there is a hidden boss fight that you guys missed. you need to get all of the micro-froggit rooms, but the first one is in the ruins, so you get soft locked out of it after the dalv fight
Well I wasn’t expecting to cry today, YET HERE I AM!
If you want to see ALL the endings, I'll tell you now that there is a secret fourth ending for if you only kill Ceroba, if I'm right It is either called "justice" or "fake justice" ending.
Seeing the other routes would be sick, but there is a beauty in a good game making you put it down before you're "done" though. So ultimately, I'd be okay with where-ever you'd decide to stop.
ok full disclosure, there is a special route if you kill ceroba here, if you don't want to do the whole pacifist route again, some people have uploaded their save files online so you'd only have to beat ceroba, or you could look it up and react to it (if you want to make a video on it)
If you want to do the other routes, I highly recommend doing neutral first, if only because, to me at least, it's better if you don't do it last
any way of doing neutral is valid, as they're practically all unique from the other routes, killing even a single regular enemy will lock you in it, and sparing most bosses will have different results than in pacifist, if you want to avoid dithering too much, you could spin a wheel on each of them to see if you kill them or not (I also think it would be kinda funny)
If you guys do decide to play the other routes, I highly recommend doing neutral and then vengeance.
The thing about Ceroba needing Clover's soul is that Chujin's hypothesis would only work if she fuses a monster soul with a PURE human soul, meaning it must have no EXP, or at least that's what it's implied. That's why the blue soul harmed Kanako, it wasn't pure like Pacifist Clover's.

Well whether you do the other endings or watch them i think it will be good. On the case for oneshot, i really do think you guys would love the second half of it if you gave ot a chance, but do whatever you feel is best. You guys know yourselves and your situations better than any of us
The genocide ending isn't a retread of the original's genocide ending, so I would still recommend to do it
i just discovered this channel so i don't know if you know this but
if you ask for the fortune teller in the Oasis Valley to tell your fortune 3 times, they will actually predict your death at the end of your adventure
and if you ask them your future for a forth time, they will mistakenly watch Frisk walking down the water cooler in hotland instead of Clover's future, so they will just return your money back
although you dont find the gun and hat in the garbage area, catty and bratty mention finding them there and then they sell them to you iirc😊
I'll admit, I didn't like the original Undertale. But this? Now I can see why the original was so special to people. This was a wonderful journey. Thank you for taking us along with you
