- it's official... WE MOVED!! obviously, we'll be coming back to this house, there's a lot more renovating to be done! but for now, we're all packed up and here's how our 800 mile road trip with a baby and two dogs went.

Cathrin, I just wanted to comment on how greatly I respect you so conscientiously covering your baby's face and respecting his privacy. I love that you being a mom is part of your content but your CHILD is not the content. Awesome to see a UA-cam parent doing this so well! 👍🏽
That was your dream house though!! A little sad cause you worked so hard on it! I work in family law and my only piece of advice is keep your house and rent it out. You may need it again one day (let's hope not but just in case!).
You are a brave woman! The universe gave you six months to be ready to take on this shift with everyone. What a great Person and Puppy Momma you are!
I hope this move doesn’t add to your financial stresses. I know you’ve mentioned that because of the drop in your UA-cam revenue you had to change your salary to be less than your mortgage. I know you’ve probably thought ahead about this stuff but just hope you’re doing ok on that front. I know you invested so much time into this lake house as it was part of your vision to build the life you love and so hope that whatever happens in this next chapter for you that you manage to find peace with everything and continue to feel anchored by your passions and dreams.
Let the unpacking vlogs begin indeed! Once again, I am in awe of your perseverance in everything that you do. As a pre-planner myself, I felt stressed just watching you pull this off lol!

I've driven from VT to AZ alone with my dog 6x. MA to FL 3x with other cross country trips thrown in. Sometimes pulling a U-Haul. I've packed up and moved to different countries abroad knowing no one. You've got it. As women we just do it. At 65 years of age I'm getting ready to move abroad again. Enjoy you new adventure. I KNEW IT! I Knew “road trip was a cover on TicTok! Especially when I saw the door at the end, I was like girl. Haha! First of all crushed the move! Congratulations on that amazing job! Second am I right? Was that one bridge Cincinnati\Kentucky? I swear it looks exactly like a bridge that I’ve been over a few times because I live in Dayton and on the rare opportunity that I get an accessible vehicle rented and I can go down to Cincinnati Reds games, I go over that bridge all the time. If you were here in Ohio even for a minute, I’m low-key bummed that I didn’t get to say hello! Third, I’m sorry you had to move. I know how much that Lakehouse meant to you, but I hope you can remember that it’s for a good reason for your overall happiness for you and little man and like you said it’s not like you’re not going to get to come back to that house! Lastly let me know if you get a new PO Box! I would love to send something! You haven’t been able to read DM‘s in ages which is perfectly understandable, but I can just throw in a letter with what I wanted you to know about how much you helped me & a little gift!
I remember my first road trip with my first was so nerve wracking but it was essentially a way to “rip the bandaid”. Now I’ve done mini road trips and a flight with 2 kids solo which I never thought I could’ve done alone EVER. It’s soooo empowering though!

As someone who is dairy free, I can tell you that either, they toast their buns on a grill with butter or the bun itself has dairy. Bread is always questionable. 😅 Anyway, great job with the the road trip. I’ve done much shorter trips with my kids and you made it look like a breeze.

Yay on the move! I’m guessing Texas from the sheer number of pickups at Buc-ees 😂 plus some other clues lol. Are you worried that it’ll be an adjustment allowing your partner to parent now? Like I could see it being like “don’t do it like that, I’ll do it” just cuz you’re used to it. Are you worried about them bonding and being able to give them alone time?

When I moved from Cali to Florida my oldest kid was 11.5 months old and DID NOT SLEEP ONE BIT on the road. Totally chill and wide awake. Surprised me!
