DONT FORGET THE RISTS COFFEE POT SUB SHOP ON STATE STREET WHERE STEVEN KING USED TO COME IN TO BUY A SUB SANDWICH FROM SKIP RIST (owner) IN BANGOR, ALSO HE MENTIONED THE RISTS COFFEE POT STORE IN A COUPLE OF HIS NOVELS
Thanks for sharing your holiday with us... It was quite fun, brought me back so many memories of being back in the states. I've been over twice now, the east coast really has a very different vibe to the west coast. And those new england towns are really cool...
Very cool. Looks fun. I feel that they may have 'found links' rather than confirmed links. Im sure King said that Pet Semetary was based on an actual one that was in teh woods near to where he used to live, and when people found out where it was they destroyed it. Still super interesting and cool. Thanks for sharing
Enjoyed watching this while drinking my morning cup of Death Wish Coffee! First off, it's adorable that your doggo got to go along for the trip! Second, that breakfast looked bomb! Okay, now on to the tour itself. Hoooooly shit! I was geeking out when you were standing in front of the gates to Stephen King's house JUST WATCHING your vid -- I can only imagine how exciting it must've been to actually be there! Did you feel the urge to write your own horror novel just from standing in front of his house? Because I immediately felt like writing just from watching your footage of it. Haha Seriously considering doing the tour maybe sometime later this year after watching your footage!
I love that Stephen King exists. He's created such a cool world of his own and brought so much happiness to so many people, which we can clearly see all over your face as you talk about it :) My name is Steve and, growing up in the 80s, people use to tease me by calling me Stephen King. But I was always like, he's cool, what are you talking about? And then they would say, yeah, Cujo was pretty awesome. Or the Shining is really scary. So I have an affinity for him and it was great to see his town. I love how much he loves his town and his people.
Omg.. I want to go on this so bad! I'm from England, UK. I'll probably be going alone so I've pretty nervious, never been to the United States before but I plan on visiting Maine someday!!!! I'm a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge Stephen King fan!!!
Thanks for this video and for getting me back into reading. Didn't read anything for the last few years because I read all day for my job (emails, IMs, work tickets, research...). So, by end of day, I don't feel lie reading. I usually read Sci-Fi but I do have some King in the vault and read 'The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon' as it's a short one and I wanted to ease back in. Good read for those who haven't read it but it does follow one of King's formulas. Thanks again. Keep going!
Fantastic, thanks for sharing this with all of us Stephen King fans. I actually didn't know that Adrian Melon was based off a real person either. Learned a lot from the tour even as a massive fan. Great work.
I got a kick watching the video, I live around the corner from his house on west Broadway. He's my favorite author, it's always been funny seeing people stop at his house for pictures. Love your channel tho!!
@@mandysmorgueofhorror It's been a few years since I've seen him, he doesn't spend as much time up here as he used to. I've seen him around town quite a bit up until a few years ago. When I was a kid he'd hand out candy on Halloween, which was awesome. He's done so much for this area, he's an incredible man.
I’m kind of new to your channel so I’m watching all your older videos. They’re all so great and fun! I’ve always wanted to do a King tour. Thanks for bringing us along!
FINALLY someone goes to a Books a million! I was starting to think I lived in the Twilight Zone going to them and everyone on Booktube only talking about Barnes and Noble. Lol. This looks like such a fun tour to take. I'm going to have to do it when I go to Maine in September.
Very nice job young lady. I enjoyed viewing your video journey throughout Stephen King's "Maine Land." / movie locations. Stephen is a real interesting cat. His real life story of being broke and desperate before fame is an American Dream on Steroids. I love that an underdog like him made it. He certainly and obviously deserved it. THANKS
Hmm I am not too sure, but it didn't seem too hard to find. I think you can probably Google the gravestones - search for Mt. Hope Cemetery. They are very close to each other in the cemetery.
Yes, it was a joke/reference to the town featured in his work. It’s why I put Derry in quotations. I was in Bangor, so I am aware that’s where he lives 😂

I really want to do this one day! I am right nearby in Quebec and could make this my week!

The Barrens is exactly like I imagined it when I first read the IT novel. 😳
