The cast for this game is absolutely amazing. They used a bunch of actors from Firefly. Buck: Nathan Fillion (Mal) Dutch: Adam Baldwin (Jayne) Mickey: Alan Tudyk (Wash) Romeo: Nolan North Dare: Tricia Helfer (EDI)
Both Nolan North and Nathan Fillian have since also done voicework for Bungie's Destiny duology. There, Nathan Fillion voiced Cayde-6, jokester and comic relief among the Vanguard in Destiny 1... and who has been dead for longer than he was alive as of Destiny 2: Forsaken (although he's coming back next expansion, somehow). Meanwhile, Nolan North stepped in over Peter Dinklage to voice the player character's Ghost, a constant companion from the beginning and the little guy who revives you every time you die horribly to a raid boss/fellow Guardian/endless pit/regular enemy/so on and so forth. this has nothing to do with Halo, I just wanted to mention it because I have wasted far too much time on Destiny
It's easy to forget just how terrifying you are as the Chief. The impact of psychological warfare on weaker enemies is factored into the game AI. You're not a seven foot tall half ton biblical monster that haunts their nightmares anymore. Notice that the grunts and jackals aren't as scared of you, and won't panic nearly as often. As an ordinary human, you also aren't strong enough to dual wield guns like a Spartan can, and you don't have shields. You do, however, have some new toys in the form of silenced guns, and a big advantage in the form of your team. Your allies are just as dangerous as you are, and can often make better use of powerful weapons than you can. In the other games marine allies were merely helpful, now they are absolutely essential to your success. And while its grim to think about, you also aren't always the most dangerous thing in the room, which you can take advantage of. Have fun!
Man I’m so glad to see people play and enjoy older games from the 360 era. (In my opinion the best gaming era) When I was growing up, most people, my age would get a new game play it for about a week and never touch it again because they said it was old. Used to drive me crazy when people did that.
Seeing this makes me miss the Halo Days. Playing a couple hours of Halo 3 or Reach, watching Red vs Blue or Arby n’ the Chief in Machinima or any news on Waypoint and Achievement Hunter. Such a good time.
There's a huge mystery about this game involving glow in the dark symbols written on walls, the devs said they're related to a secret but nobody has been able to solve it even today
Here in Gdl, Mexico, there is a radio station with classical and not so classical music, i remember that on one occasion they played the ODST soundtrack for a "videogame music" special
finally!! I see that someone in a stream realizes that Virgil guides you with signs to the audiologists, whether they are stop signs, advertising, car alarms, among others...and he tells you what happened in the city with his protégé Seidi at the most obscure point of the Covenant imbacion, I was delighted to see you enjoy how great the idea is in general. and in fact that's the reason why is that you spend it looking all over the city to conclude the story that leaves you with the intrigue of how it continues.
5:30 this is the same ship you see jump in Halo 2. Next to it you can see a Frigate chasing after it. That Frigate is In Amber Clad being commanded by Miranda Keyes. Chief and Johnson had just gotten on board when you dropped. Watch the signs that say detour and this way because they help guide you and there is a neat lore reason for those signs being so convenient for you. You learn it later on in the game and in the terminals. The camera view you see at the start of Buck’s first mission is an important character later on and this character is further explained in the terminals. Ah well you seem to have met Virgil. Virgil is who has been changing the signs and is the camera view you see. He is trying to help Rookie find his teammates.
This is my favorite Halo game. Glad you’re enjoying it. The atmosphere, the music, the feeling of not being a super soldier anymore, this game is on point in every regard. When it came out, my family was living in Belize. My little brother made us go out of our way to Chetumal in Mexico to the only Walmart for like a thousand miles to find a copy, and of course the one copy they had was region locked and couldn’t play on our console. And also was being sold for about $300 US. I understood those were just the breaks but my brother was despondent. Another funny childhood Halo memory. lol
ODST is kind of awkward because you can tell it really wants to be a stealth game, but has absolutely zero mechanics for stealth, it's still a lot of fun but I couldn't help feeling like it didn't quite achieve what it set out to do.
As you can see at 5:31, there is the Amber Clad just above the covenant ship taking the portal, this scene takes place exactly at the same time as the cutscene at the end of the Metropolis mission in Halo 2 ! The events of Halo 3 ODST and Halo 2 take place at the same time I love this kind of details !
Halo 3: ODST is like the Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon of the series. A game that differs heavily from the base game but in many ways is preferred over the original game. Both are amazing but I still prefer Halo 3 yet love what ODST offered and would've loved a full game like this or even a game where we play as a Marine. I do prefer Blood Dragon though over Far Cry 3 and also would love a full Blood Dragon sequel. ODST 2 and Blood Dragon 2 please lol Imagine a Halo game like Helldivers 2 where we play as a single Marine alongside our friends going from planet to planet fighting on all fronts. Would be amazing.
We technically got that one Trials game that was Blood Dragon-themed, but that doesn't count as a proper sequel in my eyes and neither does that weird Rayman animated series they put out recently that was tangentially related to it.
I loved how we got to see alot of Old Mombasa in Halo 2 then crossing the bridge in a tank to New Mombasa exploring a more modern sci fi setting for a few missions. Then ODST picks up right after the Amber Clad left with John Halo to follow the Covenant Ship.
You may recognise Dare’s voice actress as Tricia Hefler, who played EDI in Mass Effect. There’s also Dutch’s voice actor (Adam Baldwin) who played Kal’Reegar from Mass Effect as well. And there’s also, of course, Nathan Fillion.
automatic weapons like ar and smg and plasma weapons destroy brute shields very quickly and then carbines pistol etc are good for 1 shotting grunt and brutes without shields with a headshot. i personally love using the ar to take down brute shields but they nerfed the ar in odst for some reason. ig it was pretty powerful in 3 thats why
1:22:00 >"can't rely on them (the Marines)" >drove straight into a wraith and chopper support >didn't follow marine's advice of moving around and out of the way
As much as I love halo 2 and 3 this game will always have its own special place in my heart. The music is just so beautiful and I listen to it all the time. Any and every time I do it gives me the chills. I hear rain, and this game just comes to mind, I feel the loneliness of Mombassa’s streets, remembering the fear i felt as a young 11 year old playing this game. Gosh its just SO GOOD
The carrier that jumps in the beginning of the game here is the same carrier that makes a jump and is pursued by Miranda Keyes in Halo 2. For an idea of time frame

i like how she declined redoing the VISR database training and then immediately forgot how to mark waypoints lol Fun fact - Spartan Laser or M6 Grindell was a weapon developed alongside the GUNGNIR Mjolnir armor, it was supposed to supplement the SPARTAN-II materiel needs, which is the reason it is called "Spartan Laser". It's not a weapon specifically for Spartans but more suited for effective use by one
If you had watched the Carrier closely as it jumped, you could have saw the ship "In Amber Clad", the ship master chief, sgt Johnson, and Miranda Keyes were on in halo 2.
51:30 this reminds me of war and tragedy. This also got me really immersed with the character. The rookie this isn’t just another planet. It’s also home to humanity. This is your home and you’re trying to defend…. And you also practically hear the cries of your brother and sister practically whispering to you.
É tão bom ir andando devagar e se escondendo dos inimigos enquanto toca uma música de jazz tão maravilhosa, passa horas tão rapido, este jogo tem com certeza uma das melhores musicas de halo tanto para o jazz tanto para o rock

For me, ps2/n64 and 360 were the best eras. The games were good, mostly complete, with good fun gameplay and stories.

My favourite out of all the halo games. There was something about this one that stuck with me compared to the others.

This game takes place after the 3rd level of Halo 2 where master chief and crew follow the covenant ship to delta halo.
Welcome to ODST!! You will now get to experience why so many people love this game. The immersion, atmosphere, and music are so stellar.
My fav halo!!!!! Played this and Reach at my first base. Dorms were full of LAN parties lol

Yes!!! Been waiting for this one! Welcome to the Halo Jazz Club.
"Epitome"... I was 18, and said 'eppi-tome' to an adult - and I'm still feeling the shame at 48 😹

Meg if you love the ODST story there are books for them. The first is “New Blood” (before halo 5) the second is “Bad Blood” (after halo 5)
Intro of the game was the beginning of halo 2 when the carrier goes into slipspace and keys follows it btw. Just for context
Odst has been my favorite halo since I played it.
Finally, some more halo for me to binge watch! This game has one of the best soundtracks of all time, to me.
My favorite campaign by far; go team Buck-shot.
ODST was and still is the perfect Halo co-op game.

The "other" Helldivers I absolutely love.

If you had watched the Carrier closely as it jumped, you could have saw the ship "In Amber Clad", the ship master chief, sgt Johnson, and Miranda Keyes were on in halo 2.
This game has the best music in the entire series in my personal opinion
the drop scene takes place on the same time as the city battle in halo 2
There’s a pothole here, Dare was stuck in the pod and somehow got out without opening the door and it’s never mentioned

The one thing about this game compared to the others is that it feels creepy to walk the abandoned streets of new mumbasa
All I'll say is to explore the night portion of New Bombasa as the Rookie. There's a lot to see and hear.
The rookie And Buck are my favorite ODST,s
