I use this in my semi to calm down and get to sleep. I found it to be useful when I was in the room with my kids at night and they had noise machines. I was always calm and easily fell asleep many times in there.
This apartment of mine has no furnace, electric baseboard only. Naturally, I do not experience intermittent white noise. I'm considering buying a machine, unless the off chance it could upset my neighbor. Sometimes it gets uncomfortable here, difficult to bear, being how my windows are facing the front, rather than back, toward neighbor, which is visual. Me venting, Thank You for this video sound!

White noise generators have always made me feel unsettled when I heard them, they kinda creep me out actually. It sounds off for some reason, I always thought it very strange that some people thought they were comforting
It doesn't mask bass frequencies unfortunately. For that you need a cheap set of PC speakers including a subwoofer, and audio files from a company like BoomBuster or create your own
