dikembe is one of the best human beings that happened to be an NBA star off the court, but that's never talked abt you'd think he wasn't the first one to build a myriad of schools in his own continent with largely his own money, him and manute bol were the greatest in selflessness/humanitarian efforts
Never knew that but that’s not what hits the media. They need to start broadcasting the community and social efforts this rich ones do and did not maybe shame would come
Ha. I was young to be like “what about bol” and of course you mentioned it. Such humble and great human beings.
Manute probably assisted his country in gaining independence
His biggest accomplishment is $10m hospital, which is now the biggest in his born country of DRC
@@1andeyoit’s was 30 million
I dont care if he wasnt that good offensively that finger wag was legendary
fr, offensive ain’t everything. he proved his worth insanely on the defensive end, we all know it, we all hit the finger wag a few times 😂😂😂
That index finger has got to be about a foot long.
Animal of his own kind on Defense
might be the most iconic player celebration in history. hell it got its own series of commercials 😁
Dude is a legend, not only for his nba career but what he did outside of it
0:30 that's the first time I've heard someone who isn't Dikembe pronounce his full name properly. Props to the narrator for pulling that off.
Yep
And yet he soon after fails to pronounce giannis’s name
@@buttheadjoe You mean Giannis Attemptakuppo
really? its very easy
DIKEMBE MUTOMBO MPOLONDO MUKAMBA JEAN-JACQUES WA MUTOMBO 🇨🇩🇨🇩
He's definitely one of those 80s-90s studs that deserved the mention in the All Time 75 Greats.
I think Dikembe has underestimated timing. I mean he hardly ever missed a block
Iconic finger wag, humanitarian, all time great defender, hall of famer. Dikembe is one of my all time favourite players!
1990s had the best centers like Shaquille O’Neil Hakeem Olajuwon David Robinson Patrick Ewing Alonzo mourning and Dikembe
70's eith wilt and kareem:
Luc Longley, Rik Sims..
@@Rome6601 it was Rick Smits, get rid of Luke Elongated and add Greg Ostertag!
@@jessiislami7164
Plus many more. You could make a great video titled “Great centers of the 70s NOT named Wilt or Kareem”.
I absolutely love this series. Really really good as always!
who knew A 7'2 Center Who focuses more on defense rather than offense is more efficient in the free throws than that 6'10 PG who can't hit the broadside of a barn.
😂😂😂😂
@J S he needs to be able to at least make a three throw 😭 how did it work out for him not shooting losing to the hawks ?
@J S He’s a big liability in offense
@J S NO WAY. You actually think that Ben Simmons is better than STEPH
@J S Steph doesn’t choke when it matters and that’s why Ben doesn’t have a ring. Ben is regressing at the perimeter but Steph bud progressing. Steph also has more value to his team. And Simmons is better at rebounding because he is built like Lebron. Simmons hasn’t changed the way basketball is played. Steph has
6 Blocks per game in a playoff series vs the 1 seed...wow
In school as a kid I use to write my first name and then Mutombo..... I just loved the name Mutombo back then. Real level headed and pleasant man who never ever forgot his roots.
Dikembe Mutombo was a dominant force as a defensive anchor who was known for his shot-blocking skills, rebounding and humanitarian work. He played 18 seasons with the Denver Nuggets, Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks and Houston Rockets. It’s just sad that he didn’t win a NBA championship during his career. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀
One of the greatest shot blockers ever "NO NO NO!"
The only player to ever be persuaded out of a career as a doctor by his parent, instead wanting a career in basketball for him. It's usually the opposite.
He's the definition of LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST. What a life dikembe has lived
He was so good that even his finger told the world how good he was after every block.
That series against Seattle and even the one against the Jazz were so exciting. Some of the most exciting basketball I remember.
You guys should do this for Patrick Ewing. Probably one of the greatest players who doesnt get talked about much I think for not winning a title
Couldn’t agree more. I’d take him over the Admiral every time.
@@joemamma137David Robinson is a tier above Pat Ewing when it comes to all time greats. Pat was a great center but there’s nothing he does on the court better than the admiral
@@barrekelly being in the west really inflated Robinson’s numbers. He was definitely NOT a tier above Ewing. The 90s were known for the “big 4”. And everyone knew that Shaq and Olajuwon were 1 & 2, while Ewing and Robinson were 3 & 4.
Guys like mourning and Mutombo were the ones in the lower tier.
@@joemamma137def agree here. The Admiral was a force to be reckoned with. Dude could shoot from anywhere, had post moves, power and finesse. Good defender too! As much as I enjoyed watching Ewing, David Robinson was indeed a tier above him
@@Mister_Mass Robinson crushes it in the advanced stats. But he was a consistent post season choker (yeah, Ewing had his low moments too). If not for Tim Duncan, his most famous moment would be getting humiliated by Olajuwon in 95.
Robinson was like the Dak Cowboys. Great at posting mind boggling stats against lower competition, but every year ended with underachievement, and post season disappointment.
The 90s were known for the big 4 centers. Not the big 3. Shaq and Olajuwon were the top 2. Ewing and Robinson were the bottom 2. That was the only universal distinction between all 4 of them.
Tim Duncan is more responsible for the modern day perception of David Robinson than David Robinson is. Very similar to what Terell Davis did for John Elway. Gave him 2 rings after his prime, when he was no longer his teams best player.
dang i remember during my junior highschool year there's this one senior who we call dikembe because of his defensive ability and position.. what a good ol day
mutombo changed the game. he was super super good d in the paint while having averge offensive capability as a center. basically turns anybody besides shaq to an averge center during that era.
Love from congo 🇨🇩 ❤
The 76ers gave up a little too much in my opinion. They should have kept kukoc bc they needed his title experience, scoring and playmaking. It was a good trade but 76ers could have used some of those players
Yea keep him and Mutombo until 2004 and keep Larry Brown and mo cheeks for the assignment coach they would have been good.
I think he was like washed up then Or something
ATL was not desperate to dump Mutombo so without Kukoc the deal would be off.
@@cartermyers8107 the veteran presence would have been nice though
@@j9kp0zlite55 yea that’s true
Definition of a paint BEAST!!
Glad to have Congolese brother in NBA! US should visit Congo as well
Mount Mutombo.... a effing legend even for his not so exciting 90s stats!
dikembe speaks alot of languages my freind ...u gotta show that respect .....
Georgetown had 2 rookies make the all star game their first years(Ewing & Mutumbo). That's crazy! No AI tho
And 2 another
Alonzo morning
And you know the other
Allen (the answer) Iverson
YES, THIS IS THE VIDEO IVE BEEN WAITING FOR
One of the best defensive Centers ever. He could also score enough to be a threat.
He had value since he's 7"2 and can block shots. He had a good long career
Such a great dude! Mount Mutombo is in da House!
He's so cool man.
Should be a Top 75 !!
Alongside with Dwight & Ben Wallace
I wonder if they have a chance at the Top 100...
I am glad i am old school and lived to enjoy watching Mutombo in the 90s
I love when you do the how good was videos their🔥🔥🔥
Watch him as a kid in Denver was amazing, even tho we weren’t a great team
Dikembe is my idol of all time.. 55 is the best ..
Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean-Jacques Wamutombo !!! ♠
One of greatest rin protectors ever
Imagine not getting a picture with him 🥱
He was a good center and rim protector for the Denver Nuggets. But the finger wag was his signature celebration after blocking a shot.
We love you Mt Mutumbo!
he should have been part of NBA75
I agree
Not as deservedly as Dwight Howard. Both got snubbed
Great video!
Greatest Defense presence ever.
Greatest finger wag ever.
Mutombo

Dikembe is a good man!
More of this pls
Wow they actually notice me lol thanks alot💙
Mutombo is a champion.
Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean-Jacques wa Mutombo 🇨🇩🇨🇩❤❤
Besides being a badass center an all time great defender. He was also a great actor. Look at his GEICO commercial!!!
Respect!
Dr dikembe mutombo be like
“Not in my practice☝️” 😂
greatest defender to ever play the sport, averaging 6 blocks in a series against the no 1 team in the nba speaks volumes. not to mention how many double or triple blocks he has
Legend
Do Dennis johnson
Now a video about KG!
Mount "Mutombo" plays in Denver Nugget as a Center and achieved his first DPOY.
Known for his finger wags which caused him to lose some "nuggets" for the ban.
Deek is a legend
Next time you hear Iverson carried alone the 76ers and played with a bunch a scrubs, point them to this video please.
@@GDCDGC And this man carried the bulk of the defence.
@@OjoRojo40 Imagine trying to discredit what Iverson did. That’s pretty pathetic and ridiculously stupid.
@@americaninsurgent4403 Imagine being as stupid as you are.
@@GDCDGC Yes I remember, I'm a 76ers fan since the Barkley era. As you said, the team was way more than Iverson, who was (on a good night) an unstoppable scorer, but the rest of the year a very inefficient shooter. Cheers!
@@GDCDGC Nah, on a god night he was overall amazing but as you said he was an egotistical inefficient player the rest of the time. As you said, Mutombo didn't have enough help to win a championship.
Please do either Moses Malone, or Grant Hill please
Poor Grant. He was Derrick Rose 20 years earlier.
How can anyone hate Mutomnbo? He did not care if you dunked on him or not. He was still going to defend the basket at all cost.
The fact he's not the only 7 foot professional basketball 🏀 player & African 🌍 humanitarian is funny & dope to me.
Hes so good jordan only dunked on him once
The way you pronounced Kinshasa is so funny. lmaof
I know this isn't an nfl video but I can't stress how much we need a how good was Terell Davis,Vernon Davis,Golden Tate,Micheal Crabtree or Shannon Sharpe Actually videos please do these videos Non Stop Sport
NFL isn’t as good as basketball
My Favorite Player of all time. Try to base my game off him.
Y’all should do this on serge ibaka
Imagine playing the rockets you get a wall in front off the basket all the time after Yao you get dikembe
Mt. Mutombo 😌
I''ll never forget the cookie monster joke.
8:53 whoa is that George Muresan?
Fun fact he was born in my hometown
RIP MAMBA AND MAMBACITA
Best Mutombo story I’ve heard was he went a club and said who wants to sleep with Mutombo
David Robbinson next please
Can you do a video of how good Alonzo morning actually was
Jaylen Brown next video Nonstop Sports 💪💪💪
his early story and record reminds me of gobert
My grandpa Carl has a picture with Dikembe From the 90s
I didn't realize that three seconds rule came so late.
Can u do a story of tom brady
The first 4X defensive Player in NBA
You ommited the part when he played in the strests with uncle Drew
Can someone explain why Mutumbo sounds like Cooke monster
The Rudy Gobert prototype
He was not bad offensively, he was not received the ball enough but he got good touch around 10 feet basket
He was good player
"No no no!"
-Dikembe Mutombo
Please do how good is shaquille o neal.
Imagine him telling you a family member died as a doctor... that voice ..
