Best review! I wish all the amp reviews were like this: miced the right way> testing the amp on its own> and testing with pedals, because we're guitarists and sometimes we like to use distortion pedals (even when the amp has a nice distortion on its own)
Thank you! I wish we had the time and budget to do all of them like this. We’ll figure it out soon :) I read comments like these and it is very inspiring! Thank you ✌️ - Jarred
Great demo!!... and a real pleasure listening clean sounds with your way to play the guitar, a high range of dynamics, where I think is where really we can appreciate the possibilities of this great Blackstar amp. Subscribed!
Great review! The sound demos were fantastic as well. This is an amp I’d definitely check out visiting the store. Cheers on the new channel. Your a great host and I’m looking forward to the next one.
Thank you 🙏 We do have them in stock at the moment at www.bcrmusic.com and also in our showroom if it’s relevant to your situation 😉 We appreciate you reaching out!
I’m considering one of these bad boys, currently I have a Supro tremoVerb but I’m unhappy with how dark and bassy/boomy it sounds.. Is this the amp I need?
Hello Adrian! We’ve had more than one Supro Tremoverb in the shop, and yes: it is a very dark, and compressed circuit. It also cuts off treble response about a certain response. Supro designed the circuit this way, and many players LOVE IT! It’s perfect for many styles, but certainly would not be considered transparent. I could understand how some players would demand more range, and sounds like that is where you landed. The Studio 10 6L6 is capable of a much greater range of tones. There is no cut off on the treble response, yet the bottom frequencies remain intact. The relationship between the gain and master volume controls is perfect, and allows you to run the amp nearly fully clean, at full volume. My guess is it is you’d LOVE the Studio 10 6L6! Thank you for reaching out to us :) Jarred
I recently got this amp and am really enjoying it, but debating on changing the speaker in it. Feels a little too sharp and edgy. Does anyone have any recommendations?
I have this amp and it sounds great with my G&L Legacy Strat. I use the Pyramid Classic round wound pure nickel 10-38 strings. With those it sounds very balanced. With contemporary 10-52 d'Addarios or the like, the low E and A will almost sound like a bass on the neck pup. The amp produces quite strong, harmonic highs, but very warm sounding throughout. With everything set to noon, and the guitar tone rolled off somewhat, you get BB King tone. That's where this amp lives. Though you can get a great variety of tones from it, it's always warm and rich. It makes a strat sound like a strat, but much more substantial in a mix than usual. It reacts extremly dynamic to your playing and your guitars controls, unlike anything you may have experieced if you never played a single ended class A amp before. However, to get distortion significantly beyond point of break-up, you'll need a pedal. The 6L6 power stage valve doesn't distort, unless you play very loud, and even then not very much. The distorsion comes from the pre amp. The volume control really is just that: a volume control. The amp thus sounds nice and bluesy with the gain dimed, the OD on and the volume all the way down just above the point where the amp will refuse to work all together. That makes it a great bedroom practice amp.
Thank God someone does a review in the real world with cleans, amp gain as well as pedals in front.. thank you so much!
We really appreciate the feedback. Stay tuned for some more amp demos!
If I lived in the USA I would definitely buy form this dude. Not many youtubers seem as genuine and nice as this guy!
I just saw this amp and was curious about it and lo and behold good old BCR coming in clutch with the review! You guys are the best.
Played the EL 34- so much potential but I didnt have time to push its buttons. Cool tones on the vid man!

@@bcrmusicsound thank you! Appreciate your response!
So it seems like I’ll get a bit of break up at a bedroom level with this? That’s what I need!

Yes, stick with it! Any new speaker will need to be broken in... the sound will loosen and sweeten up over time!
@@ButternoteBackingTracks Thanks brotha! Will do
I put a Celestion Greenback in. Absolute gamechanger
@@MrJeff1801 I actually ended up doing the same thing 👍and the higher you turn the volume the sweeter it sounds
