Took my New York State driver’s license test in this car . It was my moms . NYS inspector looked terrified .
All he made me do was drive to the end of the street, do a three point turn ( no easy feat in this car without power steering ) and return to where we started . He couldn’t get out of the car fast enough .
Handed me my temporary license and me and mom drove off . My mom was a very cool lady.

This is the sort of Ferrari I like, in exactly this condition. Credit to the owner for enjoying and caring for this car. I can't even imagine wanting to chop one of these up to make something else out of it, they're such an elegant car and the design really doesn't have a bad line anywhere.

I remember when I was like 10 years old I read an article that suggests Enzo Ferrari loves GT cars a lot, then I thought, what were you on about Mr. Ferrari? Didn't you tell your engineers to build a F40? But as I know a lots more about cars I just wanna go back in time, and grab my younger self, then say "Use your freaking brain kid! V12 Ferrari GTs are the best cars!", now this video is certainly the proof of that and I absolutely ADORE them quite badly now!

A beautiful review, brought a tear to my eye. I have a 1967 330GT that my father bought the year I was born. Ferrari dealers love it, but the Ferrari community in general, turn their noses up at it as it is not as stylish and glamorous as a 250, 275 and others. I just potter around in it here in monaco as an alternative to my modern California. I know it's unloved, but I will never part with it 😥.

I even found a lot of people would let me out at junctions. I am sure if I had driven aggressively people would have responded differently. The 330 GT does look gorgeous - great video - thank you.

this has been my dream car since i was 20 years old..... there was one for sale in Ferrari dealer where i live when the 550 maranello was just around, , for 25k euros of today....you could buy a used BMW 580I coupe with that money to give the idea..... I didn't get to interested in trying to make a deal because back then i knew nothing of how to maintain a classic car, and the dealer explained to me that when i asked him if this car would have life into it let, he simply told me that they are hard to get going even in a straight line and need always constant care, and they are prone to breaking easy..... but i will never forget how in awe i felt and the gargantuan coolness factor this car has and will always have..... this and the model with single headlamps that came after in 1967 are by far and by all means the most gorgeous Ferraris ever made, nothing on 4 wheels comes close to the class of this model... even a boiled egg behind the wheel of one of these could belittle the coolness of Steve McQueen a million times..

No doubt about it... James always does a great review on whatever car he's driving.. and this review of the 330GT is excellent. You either love this car or you don't. The Chinese eye headlights are not too everyone's taste. I have fond memories of this model. When I was. 15 in 1967, I was spending my Christmas holidays on the Murray river with a friends family. A local Adelaide man, who also was a friend of my parents, arrived in a rhd 330GT. I was blown away. Ferraris were rare cars in Australia at that time, and to get the chance to go in one was too good to miss. I was in the back seat when he took it out on the back road and hit the magic number.. 100mph..my first time I did the ton. The same man left his son a 212 Inter and a rhd 275GTS...a very rare car. I tried to buy it from him for years. I know two guys in Melbourne who both have 330GTs. A few GTCs as well, which are far superior and really beautiful. So they are around.

Hi Tony, wonderful story, thank you! In about 1983 my Dad took me to see a dark, metallic green 330GT in a local car dealership (Perth WA). From memory, it was for sale for $25,000. I was 16 years old and so I lacked both a driver's license and $25K! But I just loved it. I have always preferred the quad lights to the single headlight styling that followed. Something about it not trying too hard to look pretty and yet the lines being elegant and clean. And also it looking a bit French as well as Italian--very sophisticated. I think maybe the same car was offered for sale a couple of years back on CarSales, with a price tag of $425K. Still just as wildly out of my league as before, I'm afraid. But the cars that made an impression on us as kids and teenagers ... they stay special in our imaginations. A thoroughly enjoyable tribute from James too. Well done!

      @@stevendaly110 hi Steven,
We all have could have, should have stories. If only we could go back in time to grab those missed chances. I have so many of them it makes me cry. But we enjoy what we have now.. and I'm fortunate in that I've had a few nice cars. Currently I've got a 575M, which is a keeper. Got it 7 years ago sbs I love driving it and just looking at it. Do you watch Damien from the Car Guys channel? He also just did a review of a 330GT. Different car, but worth watching. In fact his current series on Drive Every Ferrari is worth catching up on if your not a subscriber already.

My understanding is the old man preferred to drive his ASA 1000 GT.
The 64 and 65 330 GT 2+2 is a Ferrari, however it’s a bit awkward. Solid car and great shift gate, as usual.
The 1964 (LHD) that I drove in the mid-‘70’s did all the things you’d want from a front-engine V-12 Ferrari except make people smile.

A very attractive car and, a splendid review of it!
    Congratulations, J!
A couple of decades ago, I had the pleasure of regularly driving a couple of Ferraris that a former boss of mine owned.
    One was a 400i and, the other a 365GTC.
The 400i was a bit of a barge, to be honest! Only really suited for Autostrada use.
The GTC, however, was a delight.
Your review reminded me of how I felt, whenever I had the chance to drive it. You explained it perfectly, J!
    'An event'!
Actually better looking than the 330, the 365 had single headlights but, a very similar rear.
It was a 2 seater really with just a gesture of rear seats.
The paint was a deeper blue than the 330 reviewed but, still a wonderful colour!
The engine was the 4.4 litre V12 and, an absolutley glorious sound, as your review showed!
I think my boss payed around £14,000 for the car, in the mid 1980's and sold it a few years later for not much more.
I saw it advertised for sale in a classic mag 10, or so, years ago and, it was priced near half a million.
Eric Clapton had the 'sister' Ferrari 365 GTC to my boss's one, in exactly the same colour.
Mr. Clapton's car had the number plate '365 GTC'.
    My boss's was 'GTC 365'!
Thank you for the splendid review!
It brought back some wonderful memories!

Color is cool (a road going Ferrari doesn't have to be red) and the voice of this wonderful Colombo is so nice 11:59. That's what a 12 cylinder should sound. 13:16 Why this music instead of the engine sound? 20:50 Yeah!

The 330 2+2 was the first of my two Ferraris, the other being a 330 GTC.
When I had the 2+2 it was regarded as the Ugly Duckling of Ferraris due to the ill-conceived quad headlights.
At least mine was an Interim car, fitted with the five speed ‘box instead of the four speed with electric over-drive . . .

A great review of a truly elegant car (ignoring the headlights). It sounds glorious.

The rear tail lights are in the spirit of the Peugeot 204's. And, yes, the front has somewhat of a likeness to my beloved Citroen DS. Actually, it is more similar to the Panhard 24 and has a faint touch from the Citroen Ami.

I always thought this car was elegant, ever since John Lennon bought one to celebrate getting his license. Not too shabby for a first car. If I were wealthy enough, I would love a 330. Nice vide of a nice car. And the sound when you give it the beans (love that saying). Australia

Beautiful car, Damian on the Car guys channel has just reviewed a mark 2 on his drive every Ferrari series, an aesthetic improvement with the single headlights and less fussy side vents.

I randomly discovered my neighbor had one of these parked in his dusty garage in bumf*^k usa where there are no nice cars let alone vintage F cars. He had tarps and barrels on top of it. Had to do some research and discovered these were far less loved than they should be. Stopped in and talked to the old dude and he just bitched it wasn’t worth what the others were worth. In fact, a hell of a lot of these were caniblized for semi-authentic Ferrari 250 recreations. The owner was ancient and appeared to have owned it from the beginning… or at least close to the beginning. . I wonder if he still has it and if it’s still parked in his garage? If I saw it someone else must have, though not a lot of folks around me would have a clue.

Remember seeing one of these for sale in the 70's, and asking my dad to buy one, £1500 didn't seem that much to me at the time. It was years later that i realised, you could actually buy a house for that kind of cash

This used to me late father's car. He had it from late 1960's until 2002 when I sold her after he died. She was always known as Big Blue.

@@sellsidedream8766 He bought it from Maranello Concessionaires in about 1968 - think he was second owner. I was born in 1965 and he definitely did not have it then. Also one of my abiding childhood memories was him telling me that he was going to buy a Ferrari, whilst he was shaving in the morning and then waiting up for him that evening when he bought her home for the first time.

@@sellsidedream8766 Would be lovely to see her again. I spent most of my childhood cleaning her and she more than any other car reminds me of my father. The last time I went out with my Dad in her was to the first ever Goodwood Revival! I live in Chichester so Goodwood is five mins away. Love the new leather interior btw - that really did need doing.

Wooden steering wheels on new cars were eliminated for safety reasons. Potential splintering. Reasonable enough, I'd think.
