I really liked how we played, even better than the Canada game, Chile couldn't keep up with the press, had we been less unlucky in our finishing we would be talking about a demolition, if we can put away our chances we are beating everybody

    (1) Peru adjusted to the heat better than Canada.
    (2) Peru had better tactics than Canada in the first half.
    (3) Long term, over the past month, player fatigue has been building up for some of the Canadian players (who are not used to playing so many games mixed in with heavy practices that Marsch likes to employ), This seemed to be the case with Kone and Buchanan at the very least.
In the grand scheme of things Peru took advantage and full credit to them, but at the same time, they showed a lack of discipline and they were lucky not to get 2 red cards in this game. In the end, playing in this style cost them and Canada was able to punish them for it.

Leaving aside Argentina's top talent and synergies which cannot be questioned, the whole Uruguayan referee team (VAR included) were an absolute partial shitshow, a true disgrace to fair play and an insult to intelligence, which makes you wonder how much intrigue and favoritism still exist in int'l football despite all the technology involved.
On a side note, it's time for our good ol' Alexis to leave the 10 jersey to Diego Valdés and start considering an exit plan to his once glorious career, it breaks my heart to see Chile actually played better without him on the pitch. From the Generación Dorada only Claudio Bravo is still relevant, Isla so so depending on the match, but his natural replacement Felipe Loyola from Huachipato got injured against Paraguay so we have to stick with el Huaso still.

Peru shot themselves in the foot with their CONMEBOL tier fouls. They were the far better team.
Messi injury worry for Argentina, he was clearly impacted by the groin strain(?), but Argentina still very dominant overall.
I would be very happy if this becomes Lautaro's Copa América, considering how poorly his World Cup went (as well as his recent Champions League campaign).
