- Grinding a 22" hard oak stump with my Carlton SP7015 stump grinder. This machine has the four cylinder Kubota, 66 HP turbo diesel, water cooled engine. This stump grinder is manufactured in Spartanburg, SC. The Air-tow trailer is made in La Verne, CA. The trailer is awesome. Not only does it have a 10,000 pound load capacity, it also lowers to the ground and raises to the towing position. This is a real time saver and a huge safety benefit when my tires are wet. I never have to worry about the equipment sliding off slick loading ramps.
Omg that trailer. Its an absolutely piece of work.
I own a 14x7 dump trailer and is nerve wracking loading my equipment, especially my skid steer.
Easy to get lax. I have been grinding stumps for 30 years.Never move the machine from the hole with the wheel turning.Who knows what can stumble along and have a very bad collision with the spinning wheel.
Robert can you give us a link to your videos. We would like to critique your operation.
I have really good things about bandits, cartons, vermeer
Pretty slick trailer. Overly manly stump grinder, too.
How much do you charge for a stumb is that size
Thinking about getting this machine new... you still running it and how is it holding up?
How many hours you have on the machine?
I put 900 hours on that wheeled unit, sold it, and bought a tracked unit. After having both a wheeled and a tracked unit my preference is tracks, by far. The ONLY drawback to tracks is you have to be much more careful on peoples lawns and just learn how to get from stump to stump without making sharp turns. I have never had anyone complain. Good luck in your decision. Now if I had a trailer, with ramps, I'd go with wheels because tracks would be more difficult for going up and down the ramps at the apex. Many people do it though.

@@fulks19 thanks for the reply ... I did get the track unit. I also had a custom enclosed trailer with tandom 7k axles and 7 foot high ceiling so the ramp would be longer. Had to have a custom ramp made as well as machine is 6ooolbs. As you know.
I have about 15 hrs on machine.
So glad I bought the track unit as moving over a little bit on the bigger stumps is just a little twist of the tracks..

let the turbo cool down for a bit
I like the trailer does it ever give you any trouble as compared with other trailers is it very expensive I'm considering the dump version of this trailer
+Joe I have been very happy with this trailer. The dump trailer would not fit my stump grinder like this one does. This trailer is 12 1/2 feet inside. I love being able to drive directly onto the trailer without pulling out ramps. Yes, it is very expensive. As mine is equipped, I think I paid around $14,000.
Where did you buy that trailer

nice machine! but does it not have a cutter wheel brake?
No. It does not have a cutter wheel brake. This is my third stump grinder and none of the other brands, I owned, had a cutter wheel brakes either. I have never needed one but I think it would be nice to have some sort of emergency cutter wheel brake. Of course that would add a big expense to an already expensive machine. There may be some brands that have that feature.
