This is absolutely bananas AND I LOVE it! Gives photographers time to focus on the creative process of nailing the shot instead of the post processing work. You’ll need to add your style but this facilitates the harder stuff and makes it easy.
The blurred fruit in the background was stunning. I'v been working with the beta version today and I'm really speechless.
watched loads of these lately, cant get enough! Yours is quick, concise and to the point, great vid, more please!!
What a great tutorial! Thank you for being so clear with your instructions!!!
This both exites me and terrifies me. I wanted to change ma career into graphic design but I can't shake the feeling that this field is dead. Graphic designers will be able to do so much more work so quickly that only few will be needed. And people will need them less because they will manage to do what they need by themselves.
Your/our field is not dead. It's just consolidating. I used to be a web developer, and I felt the same way about all the page builders that promised to make a website with no coding. I should have embraced it as a tool to my work flow instead I avoided it fell behind. Now I have learned my lesson. I use Mid-Journey and Dall•E in my brainstorming phase, then have it generate the base to create elements to composition from and still spend time drawing and blending. The hard truth is your job is safe because people are lazy or scared to try new things, and so people will always look for others to do their work for them. Find ways to add these tools into your workflow and become the next M.V.Painter.
You should embrace it, rather than fear it. Im a Product Designer within SaaS (Software as a Service) and always aiming to embrace new technology to see if its suitable tool for my role or not.
These tools do little to assist in Graphic Design, much less replace... what it does is revolutionize the execution of those designs. We still very much so need Graphic Designers to do the actual designing. In other words: less tedious work, more actual thinky work.
Every field is dead, some are just going to give you a couple more years. Think of these as lifetime hobbies, not things you're going to be doing forever. People telling you anything else are out of their minds.
This is absolute madness. I love it!
I've been working professionally with PS since 1991-92. There have been many "game changing" innovations over the decades such as content aware (among others) however adding this ability to the PS UI pretty much tops everything else. What they are showing here is pure cherry picked spin because in my real world tests the results are certainly far from perfect ( but extremely fun ). Some subjects it works very well and others are a hot mess but considering it's in its infancy 50/50+/- success rate isn't bad at all. The "expand" feature is pretty sweet. In my tests I have taken numerous "portrait" orientations and made them into "landscape"s. It's pretty amazing!
The one drawback/caveat is that I "heard" is": Adobe will charge for this feature beyond a certain base amount of "credits". For me that's a bona-fied insult to all the (professionals) who made Adobe what it is today. We're already paying a premium to subscribe to CC and now they want to "double tax" us? Adobe has done some pretty questionable and reprehensible things over the decades but (again) this is right up there at the top. I hope this time around enough people will be outraged at the money grab enough to complain and make Adobe include it with their MANDATORY subscriptions. If not I'm sure Midjourney, DAll-E or Stable Diffusion will include this feature in the (very) near future. PS. Midjourney prompts render far superior results than Firefly. Night vs Day
Amazing video quality lad!
Wow!! This will fill the design gap of an entire generation, lol. I love it!!
This is actually insane
This is insane!
😮
Amazing!
crazy good
does this available in all adobe photoshop plans ? ex : the photography plan ( PS and LR)
nice video
I remember the sandwich video when Content Aware fill came out, it was a joke, but this is exactly that.
"This is the end" song intensifies
The is Ai integration. Very powerful but makes me wonder where they source the content for thing link the ice cream.
I think it's the same source like they use for firefly: mostly adobe stock, so there shouldn't be any copyright infringements
If Firefly works like Stable Diffusion, Dall-E, etc... then it's sourced from randomly generated noise. All these AI generated images are at their core is overblown noise-removal algorithms, doing the computer equivalent of seeing shapes in the clouds of noise.
Those claiming copyright issues don't seem to understand what's going on under the hood.... essentially the system generates an image of pure, random noise... then lies to the noise-removal software claiming it's an image of "ice cream" or whatever the prompt is, then the software tries to remove all the noise to get to the "original" image of the ice cream. Of course it's all a lie, there is no ice cream... but the noise removal is so overblown that it ends up making an image of ice cream anyway.
The only place that source images come into play is in training the computer to understand the concept of what "ice cream" even is. It's about gaining understanding, which is why parallels are drawn between an artist seeking inspiration and an AI training database.
@@shivorath Actually that's the cool thing about this. all the images are ethically source from adobe stock photos and the owners are getting a cut unlike the others in the market stealing people's hard work.
My mind is so officially blown.
Yeah but the feeling i had when i got hooked on Photoshop will go away it not me anymore it feels like im to tool and helping the ai finish the task 😅
Alright, I only *slightly* regret buying CaptureOne now. This is crazy good.
Capture One shines on ingest and file handling, it's never been a great option for editing to final product.
@@kurtlindner It's never been a good PhotoShop competitor but it's great as a solid Lightroom competitor. However Adobe is doing a much better job than a few years ago at ingest and file handling (specifically on the fuji side now)
I can't see the box where you enter description on my download... 🤦
please tell me how to get bar generator because tap to hide.... 😐😐
hi,
Which version of Photoshop Beta get this "generative tool"? the 24.6 (french) don't have it, or I don't know where activate it... It's not shown in the edit menu
Il y a une deuxième maj à faire après l installation. Ça peut prendre une Heure avant de la voir
There goes my retouching job. lol.
Does this work in photoshop element 2024? Or just the monthly photoshop ?
When I select an object and leave the prompt blank and click Generative Fill, it's always replacing the object but never removes it :/
is this also available for ipad?
Is this rendered localy, or in cloud?
Massive LIKE!
The fruit in background 😂 they some big oranges
How do you get the Generative Fill button to show? I'm in Beta, my document is RGB / 32 bit, adobe knows I'm over the age of 18 and I'm not in China. So according to Adobe I should be able to see the button.
same, are you using windows? because I dont have the generative opions yet.
@@chuchuchutrain6735 Mac. I get the new selection bar but no button. The document says I should get a grey buttons with an error message on hover or a working button. I get no button at all.
Be sure to check again for updates in the Creative Cloud app, and maybe restart it. Sometimes it gets stuck on the previous version (yesterday's).
@Howard Pinsky will do it, though I downloaded the beta for the first time an hour after you posted your video.
@@HowardPinsky Unfortunate It didn't work to reinstall it. I'll just wait for future versions. :(
Updated my Photoshop and why the hell I don't have this function? I can't find this "Generative Fill" in my edit dropdown menu
I dont have Generative AI in photoshop beta 24.5 why?? 😢😢😢
Really wanted to try. Downloaded that Beta but I don't have this in Edit tab. Who knows what is the problem?
Be sure to check again for updates in the Creative Cloud app, and maybe restart it. Sometimes it gets stuck on the previous version (yesterday's).
@@melemel9062 reset my Macbook and it updated once again and this feature appeared
@@jamesvela reset my Macbook and it updated once again and this feature appeared
Ohh My God, We just have to think, they will do for us.
not working in windows
This is an absolute game-changer.
I can almost guarantee you will need a legitimate version of PS for this to work though, because it must need to connect to Adobe Cloud to generate the images using its database.
Yeah. But in couple of years there will be free versions everywhere, more advanced than this one
But its paid version ite directly connected with Creative Cloud
I have downloaded the beta version but I was not able to find this
I had the same issue. I had to restart my CC app, and the new Beta v 24.6 that was released today popped up to download.
@@kevinhammond4100 I have the same problem. However, I already have the 24.6 version installed and even restarting CC, PS and my Mac in general didn't work.
Same here... I have the newest beta version but there is no option for Generative fill
FUCK YES.
I see everyone is amazed, insane crazy, and stupefied. As for my humble lonely self I am not amazed as the bg's I have generated are pretty lame, but am saddened as this thing further narrows opportunities for future graphics designers. AI is vastly dangerous beyond belief. You don't see it now...but you will. And you'll remember that I told you so.
This is pure witchcraft hahaha
Nothing is real
I feel deceived. It’s a pure deception. All these “pseudo-creative” art features like Ai are actually made by programmers, not by artists. Artists wouldn’t do that thing to themselves, obviously, cause they clearly don’t need it. It’s not your dream - to waste years on studying, on improving your skills just for some technicians to put it down. I know that some photographers /artists/designers are happy about this feature, but I guess that due to them having used cheat tools before, and now, seeing how this can be done a lot easier and a lot faster makes them happy. Real artists are not happy. Technicians should take care of technical stuff, for art we will take care ourselves. Like now we need a better image tracer, to overcome limits of working with image resolution. The existing image tracer is morally old, it’s just too bad for 2020s, with all that technology progress. But what do they do instead? They just put down the skill that the artists put down their lives to achieve.
This not going to change the way you edit. This is going to terminate photography and content creators like you, because Everyone will be now a "photographer" asking 20$ for a session and put the clients in the Taj mahal dressed accordingly or charging 100$ for a wedding with the promise of doing wonders. You should not be excited but terrified
Yup. All these content creators and PS retouching teachers are hyping this up, but secretly they are sweating. People with a huge following will probably make some kind of living and get some pity patreons etc. but this field is going to die.
Crazy powerful. Capture VS Generate is going to be very interesting in photography moving forward
