    Love this idea... being able to swap to face detect with the back button could be the answer to my less than perfect focus at weddings. Thanks Tommy.

    Thanks for the no nonsense straight talk. A brief history lesson on my camera journey. I have only shot one wedding. It was 5-7 years ago by accident. A coworker's daughter was getting married and her photographer cancelled last minute with some lame excuse. She begged me just to come to the Church for a few pictures. Long story short, I pulled it off with my Canon 5DmkIV with the exception of the Bride and Groom walking down the isle. I choked on focus, shutter speed and lighting in that brief, Very Important moment. Now I have the R6 mkII. I just upgraded from The R6 which I gave to my son. I love both of these Cameras. Looking back now, I could have crushed that Wedding with either the R6 or R6mkII Hind sight is 20/20 LOL I appreciate your tips from this video I hope you have been able to add the R6 or R6mkII to your arsenal. I shot a Baby Shower a few weeks ago and the colors and results were stunning. I give all the credit to The R6 mkII

    If you want to engage single point AF, do you just use the shutter button on the top of the camera ?

    With the change to the back button I don’t need to keep my finger on the shutter button. I can just hit the shutter all the way down

    One question, so you don't use SERVO? Is that different from single point AF? Lastly, when you take pics with couples moving towards you, you put your focus on the eye first, then keep pressing back button focus as they walking or moving?? I am confused 🥴

    • @TommyReynolds89

      Just use single point focus for anything that isn’t a face :)

      @@TommyReynolds89 any issues you have using single point? Like out of focus while recompose

    • @TommyReynolds89
      @TommyReynolds89  Рік тому

      @@Thundr4x thanks to mirrorless, “focus then recompose” is no longer a thing. Now you can compose and then focus, thanks to the 100s of focus points. Wherever you compose they’ll sure be a focus point you can use without needing to recompose

    • @Thundr4x
      @Thundr4x Рік тому

      @@TommyReynolds89 in this case, you use the joystick to move the single point AF? Does is not feel like it takes time to do this?

    • @TommyReynolds89
      @TommyReynolds89  Рік тому +1

      @@Thundr4x I use the shutter wheel to move the focus point left or right, and the aperture wheel to move the point up or down. Doing both actions simultaneously means I can reach my desired focus point in a second :)

    I don’t like holding back button while pressing the shutter button. If you assign back focus to eye detect and not change shutter customization, you should be good.
