Mulberry was cancelled because one of the new entertainment heads of the BBC, did not like the series and as I have always believe said, as an excuse that it was too expensive. I was so upset. It was the same when they cancelled Hetty Wainthropp Investigates, even the cast were disgusted especially Dame Patricia Routledge who said that the BBC is run by '10-year-old children' after her detective series is axed 'We were betrayed by the BBC. We finished series four of Hetty Wainthropp, we were told there was going to be series five.
Easily one of the greatest shows of all time. Its light, relaxing and fun to watch over and over. For starters, Dench and Palmer hold the title of BEST on screen chemistry. PERIOD. And the supporting cast were all amazing too, especially Alistair, who starts off as sort of annoying, but he quickly matures and grows on you, and you realize he really is good enough for Judy. When i need to relieve stress, i re watch episodes of As Time Goes By.
I know! I thought that somehow I had missed the ending of Mulberry in error. They could have at least done one more episode to conclude that bittersweet story. It was was such an unusual concept. Usually British TV series do make the effort to round a series off. However, recently there was a series set during WWII, Home Fires, that focussed on the women in Britain stepping up to keep the home fires burning by planting crops and so on. The last episode showed a downed plane crashing into the village doctor’s home when one of the featured characters was about to give birth. You see the plane sticking out of the building and hear a baby crying while people are rushing out of their homes to see what has happened. And that was the last episode. Really? It was such a well written and acted series focussing on really strong female characters. I cannot fathom why it would have been cancelled. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Very disappointing!
I think we have similar tastes and similar frustrations. Every once in awhile, I think of _Home Fires_ , It's like hangnail or a popcorn hull between the teeth, a bit of unresolved discomfort. And it was wonderful, excellent stories supremely acted. I wasn't just absorbed by their village life, I became a villager, too.
I loved “As Time Hors By” and was really hoped that an off-shoot series staring Harry & Sandy or Alistair & Judy was done. Never saw either of these sit-coms. Wishing I did .
Such a pity that Mulberry was cancelled. It's hard to find a good show these days, and this one caught my attention. It was predictable but I didn't mind! I am glad to hear what would have happened in the end and I would have not ended it any other way if I was a writer for this series. :)
I thought I had somehow missed the final episode - searched to find out why my PBS station had stopped running this show without showing the last series (season here in the US).... Then I found where the show had been unceremoniously cancelled by the BBC before they could make a proper conclusion. Shame on the BBC ! I now own Mulberry on DVD, and know what would have happened..... Makes me sad not to see it for myself!
I watched the whole thing 3 times in 1 month.Laught with tears in my eyes! Maybe they could make it as a film in '15 with ending? But without Karl and Geraldine???????
I just loved this series. Although I was 17 years younger than her I fell in love with her in the first episode. Curse you BBC! Well, not really. Looking back I`ve seen so many wonderful series that I guess I`ll give the BBC a pass. Thank you for Mulberry!

For ages I thought that I had somehow missed that (non existent) last episode only to find that it was ... non existent. They could have done a one off episode to conclude the series. Especially with a DVD box set in mind. The same applies to the series “Home Fires” which ends with a dramatic airplane crash. Totally “krule” for the faithful viewer. Gah!
Maureen relay by ydun her hit up by Mary Jane with artemer. Bad league's her account. Her hit by the kings horses with theses kings men sickly green apocalypse reference
Mulberry was a totally beautiful story. I'm so glad it was created & you should reshow it for the young who missed it. We loved it here in California
Eternal thanks to all involved - these two series have given me many, many years of fine enjoyment, smiles, laughs, and tears.
I absolutely loved you guys! I loved all of it and have watched all the repeats over and over.. the best! Loved you all on As Time Goes By

Moria is stunning.

Open All Hours was another one, that wasn't finished properly.
I love mulberry ❤❤❤❤❤
Patricia Routledge was wonderful, such great physical comedy.

Boardroom decision is their Uncle Jimmy's Churchill's this series' incline
Leave 'em wanting more.
That’s how I always imagined it ending but with her getting out of a wheel chair and walking away with mulberry .
shame that the wrong decision was made ....be great if they did the one last show, wouldnt it !
Maureen is challenging decisions over these changes by the empire. Who is British this time and who is American
Was their Mr rumbald teeth's wrong by geli rubal Maureen
I think it's best to finish than make it ordinary and boring which KUA and Mulberry wasn't

I love the show "as time goes by"...but I did not like the episode of Lionel selling the country house. That was mean.
You couldn't make those two actors up! Talking down to the audience as though they needed to be told all this?!
