- The Thoth Tarot by Aleister Crowley, painted by Lady Frieda Harris is a tarot deck that is feared by many. In truth, the vibrant art deco deck is a thing of beauty, but it's more the creator who was dubbed as 'the wickedest man in Britain' who most people want to stay away from.
In this video I discuss the deck, talk about how I was introduced to it and why I love working with its 'severe' accuracy.

Thanks Kyle, I also feel that Lady Freida Harris is the biggest influence on this deck. This was the second deck I ever bought, and I was totally drawn to them, despite feeling some caution about Crowley. No regrets! The imagery is so complex, and so beautiful. @@KyleGrayUK well, my friend, 😊A friend and I were in teens. Not really knowing much about the Tarot… we immediately went to Alastair Crowley 😊We started a reading. And the cards started shifting on their own into different forms of tarot spreads even flipping themselves over and changing directions. Now being basically being newbies to the Tarot. My friend and I were freaked out by this .. We both felt an intense overwhelming feeling of negative energy and stopped at the reading. That was my genuine experience with working with Alastair Crowley’s tarot deck. This was my very first Tarot (got it in 1999), so I appreciated you sharing your thoughts and experience with the deck. I enjoyed the bit about the pronunciation; I pronounced it like you from the start (without knowing how to say it correctly), so I must've been a magickal person all these years! 😉

Thank you so much for this informative video! I’ve been intrigued by Crowley and the Thoth tarot. I’ll definitely do some more research now and I’d say I see a Thoth deck in my future! Oh and I can thank my high school ancient history teacher for teaching me to correctly pronounce Thoth (not that you’d know, because you’re reading, but I love my old teacher 😂) 🙏💜

Thank you for this video, Kyle! I've always resonated with Angel cards and given readings from them and stayed away from Tarot cards. Yet I've always been interested in Thoth as the character he is. Every now and then I have concsiously tried to look a bit into Tarot, in case I'd get a feel to them, but nah, haven't felt that resonating energy with any. I guess I was just waiting for the right teacher (you) to explain your view on the Tarot, especially Crowley's and the Thoth. 🙏 Love your energy and your wisdom, Kyle! Thank you. ❤

Anyway, thanks for the spooky story__I haven't dealt with tarot cards yet, I felt they might be too difficult to learn. I only have 4 Oracle decks(yours), however, I've been stashing a few interesting looking tarot decks in my Amazon wish list lately. 😛 Your backstory of Alexis' definition of this Thoth deck kind of makes me want to get it! 😱😹
Btw, some Native American tribes have been using the reverse direction of the swastika in jewelry making, etc. long before Hitler used it in the opposite__it is considered a symbol of Peace. Who knew(?). 💩

I love this deck, it was actually my first one, got it when I was 19 years old and it has never scared me. Love the symbolism and the artwork🥰 I also have the deck with the three magicians
i think i was just more scared of crowley, but now i've been to Snape's class in defence against the dark arts I'm totes fine!
Hey Kyle, thank you for sharing this info about Crowley. I too learned about him quite a few years ago. I agree he is definitely an individual, would love to see his chart. A little too Wiccan for this wee Pagan however 😅 V for victory has become very relevant to me lately & today when I listen to this video I feel very blessed and intrigued to hear about the Egyptian influence. I don't know why but when I have used it in the past, I always got a negative vibe so I rarely reach for it. This video helped me understand more about him as I didn't know much so thank you 💓
I love tarot, occult astrology and kabbal and I even recieved toth deck for christmas one time but I would always get a huge ick whenever I'd try to use it (too bad, because artwork is amazing) I have multiple stories of being psychically attacked by organised groups of satanists and draconians and when I compare the vibe I get from this deck to the vibe those entities made me feel it is suspiciously similar. I decided to rely on Metatron, Merlin and Melchizedek for occult knowledge. Aleister has been way too obsessed with some sort of twisted power struggle with the Universe and I don't believe his knowledge comes from a healthy place. To me he is a posterboi archetype for the extreme measures taken to control outside circumstances using occult knowledge coming from the most unhealthy, hopeless place. That is the worst and most dangerous way to approach magick. In my experience it cuts me off from the Light within. Not in a major way but like ...I cant disconnect the cards from his energy and whole story enough to be able to feel comfortable to do readings with this deck.
I agree. I know the intention of the user is far more important, but my vibration decreases just thinking about him. So it's not for me

Thanks Kyle, i haven't seen these cards for years. I got into tarot in my teens and had the Rider deck. My mum got into tarot later in life and her first set was this set and i remember being really shocked she had bought Crowley ones- but she knew nothing about him!!
Really interesting and this video felt like I was having a chat with a friend! I had a traditional Ryder Waite deck but had to get rid of it- for some reason it made me feel uncomfortable. Then I worked with an Egyptian style deck given to me by my clairvoyant at the time, this proved to be too heavy in energy for me, although I do have spiritual links to ancient Egypt. I do feel the artwork is very important as it can speak a language of its own, depending on the client reading.

Crowley treated the 7s as Waite did with the 5s, i would say very intentionally and thoughtfully. And probably NOT because he had beef with Venus. Personally i find the "ugly" cards excuted with such beauty and skill. The debauch one of my faves. Way less confusing that Waites even. I love this deck so much, glad to see others love it too 🙏

I am new to tarot but a deepdive is planned with the thoth in 2024.
If you see AC. birth chart you know why he was like he was. He was a Libra (Venus) with a leo rising his pluto was in taurus (also Venus), obsessed by lust, north node in the 9th, which leads him to create his own religion...makes a lot of sense to me :)

Here’s a feature on the Thoth a lot of people miss….have you ever noticed , with the trump cards, that the Hebrew symbol is sometimes on the bottom right , and with other …the bottom left! Nobody has been able to tell me why that is🤷….was it a typo error , or purposely done ?

I was raised in a cult so I don’t think I would ever buy this deck…just because I don’t want to support someone who did that in any way even if he’s dead. I don’t think the deck itself is evil though. My first ever reading was from the Thoth and the reader made it uplifting and dead on.

It’s makes me wonder about trying again- I was booked on to rider and Waite tarot mastery so ordered the deck brand new unopened- felt safe and relaxed about it- I have kyles angel guide deck and I use that one anytime it’s soothing
The first night having the unopened rider and Waite deck in the house I had a frightening experience- tarot is its own master and source not like angel oracle cards- it was trying to reach out and pester me in the middle of the night I won’t say how because it might give some the heebie geebies it wants a conduit and seeks one out
ironically enough I asked my angels and spirit guides to block me from doing the tarot mastery only if it was to my own detriment before I went to sleep that night

then all this stuff came up on my feed out of now where when I woke in the middle of the night about bad frightening experiences people had from using that deck
I got told by AA Michael when I called on that big bad boy, to remove it from my home and I had been so excited about learning all the archetypes too😕 I had to cancel my course I was disappointed then a series of playground type or experiences happened after- constant fox poop being brought in to my house- it stopped when I followed my angel guides advice
I would actually love Kyle to make this type of course available and to do a wrk shop type day like the one of his I went to in london a day with the angels, one about dealing with the dark arts- he touched on it a little there and I lapped it up
