Brutal declutters make me sad too because I’m really conscious with my budget and am always like “Nooo send those to me I’ll sign a waiver of liability to receive your beautiful used luxury beauty products!”
Thoughtful as always. I agree with the other commenter about decluttering videos. I actually won’t watch them because I think giving views to them promotes a cycle of waste, both environmental and financial. Consuming and throwing away without thought should not be encouraged in any way. I think companies need to be more selective with PR as well. You prove that it’s absolutely possible to have a great beauty channel without constantly buying new things.

I love how neatly you have everything organized and the fact that I recognized all your favorites. It's nice to see that you actually use and enjoy the makeup you've invested in. I laughed when you said you can remember the names of products but not equations in school. I really related to that. My friends who are not makeup people at all can't believe I know the names/shades of products like I'm performing a magic trick. L.O.L. I recently threw out my Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer after years of not really liking it but felt bad because so many people love it. I'm glad to see you felt the same way. This was very enjoyable to peek into your collection.

Sandra you are so funny, I was laughing out loud when you mentioned how you can remember all your blush shades but wasn’t able to remember equations! That was fully me too, I swear I know my products down to the SKU but can barely remember what I did last week. Anyway this was a total joy and I love your organization! You have a very nice collection! I enjoyed hearing about all of the products because you did a mini review on them. I have my collection in a dresser that my husband gave me as a Christmas gift. He also retro fitted a couple of drawers with wood dividers he made to hold my primers, foundations, concealers and powders. I organized the dresser in order of application. That makes it so much more usable imo. Love your channel! 💜

I love your eyeshadow party floor shelf! The way it was filmed and all the silvery colors of the cases is giving that early-2000s fashion magazine photography of spare, disco, department store vibes. I don’t know what I’m trying to describe but if you know you know.

I agree with the Laura Mercier . I want to love it, as it’s a tinted moisturizer with spf, but I think it’s heavy and looks “makeup-y”.

Oh, so fun! Makeup org videos are my favs! Your Gucci discontinued eyeshadow caught my eye, so beautiful! I have a similar fav from Nars, a single shadow called Cyprus. It's the perfect one and done for my skintone, lovely beigey/gold with a slight shimmer. I have 1 backup that I'm hoarding :) Thanks for this, Sandra, your collection is beautiful and so organized!

Great organization! Love Ikea Billy. Not for makeup storage, but I have 3 tall Billies in my living room, taking up an entire wall for books. They are so sturdy, I've had them for 40 years and still love the way they look.

Ooh have been waiting for this and you are definitely not alone. I am panning my Burberry lipstick and I will not get rid of it till its done, also decluttering excessively hurts as many of us are just regular people and that is money down the drain. It means I am way more conscious of what I buy as I hate to throw makeup out and would rather use it up even if its not a favourite. And your stash is very concise. I am with you in that I need to finish some lip products.
yes exactly - it is much easier to declutter items one has received for free, but when you work hard for your money and then add up the waste - it hurts!!

Sandra, I have the same Clarins setting spray. It looks so pretty sitting on my antique porcelain vanity tray. I just love the beautiful floral bottle, as well as the scent. Your collection is so inspiring in that you’ve been into makeup for so long and you truly love what you have without the need to go overboard with hoarding it. I’m still working on that myself (also a makeup lover of 10+ years). I feel like the older I get, the more I like the idea of a signature look and I shouldn’t fall into the trap of getting what’s the latest. All the shiny newness is definitely tempting! I’d love to know how you handle PR if this is something you’d feel comfortable with sharing?
It’s always a work in progress! I am super super selective with what I accept - basically only things I’d consider purchasing myself. If a brand reaches out I just ask for the items I’m actually interested in trying. It used to be a lot more wasteful in the past when brands would just send entire collections without asking but it has changed in the last few years and the brands I work with always ask before sending so I can say yes or no 🙂

I remember in one of your videos you mentioned how you you stick to one corner of your Burberry products to preserve the pattern and I was relieved to know I wasn’t the only one with that habit.Also we share a love for Burberry almond eyeshadow and earthy blush💄

Oh my goodness…..so I definitely need to downsize my stash. 😬 I’m doing a low-buy this year, and I’ve done pretty well so far. I also made a rule that for every item I bring in, I have to get rid of THREE! So hopefully that helps me be more thoughtful and eliminate even more items from my stash. I loved seeing how everything was organized, too. I’m going through my whole house and decluttering, and I’ll probably save my closet and bathroom for the end. Lord knows I probably just need to take a few days off of work and go full ham on them……so we’ll see. 😂 Thanks so much for sharing with us! ☺️
It’s always a work in progress, take your time and you’ll get there! It took a while for me to refine both my collection and my shopping habits. Being on a low buy will definitely help, and any time you’re tempted by something new see if you have similar products (chances are you do - we tend to gravitate towards familiar shades). if the new product would be BETTER than what you already have and you see yourself using it more, then it’s worth considering. With stuff that you’re not into anymore, if it’s still in good shape and can be sanitized, have your friends or coworkers shop your stash! I did that a few times and it was fun.

I am curious to see your 4 pan eyeshadow palettes, I know coco mirage is one of them but there are 2 charlotte tilbury quads, love to know the names and what you think of them. I would love to see a video about your quads. I also love small eyeshadow palettes and thinking to buy myself some more quads, because I recently bought myself a large Charlotte Tilbury palette and regret that I didn't went for a 4 pan palette instead.
The two CT quads I have are Copper Charge and Mesmerizing Maroon - I don’t reach for them often but I do like to wear them seasonally (copper charge in summer and mesmerizing maroon in the fall!)

If you're upset that the Bite Caramel is discontinued, you could try to recreate the shade at a Bite Lip Lab. I did that with a Maple limited shade they had some autumns ago ;)

I thought you had a much bigger collection. It’s nice to know you keep it within reason! I threw away so much lipstick this past week. They were all of Mac lipsticks. Which smelled so i knew it was gross and old!! I threw away a trash bag of waste!!!
oh yes - i've been there! hence no more MAC lipsticks in my collection. they do hold up well for years but then one day they start smelling stale and you know it's time to let it go haha
Hi Sandra 😊 I’ve been following you for years and we have very similar skin type and taste, so I was wondering if you could give me advice. I am on the hunt for a new concealer, would you recommend the power fabric or luminous silk for under my eyes more? Thank you 🤩
Ok they are both fantastic and work very well under the eyes, there are subtle differences in coverage and finish. Luminous silk is more luminous and has slightly less coverage. It looks very fresh and natural. This is my current go-to since the weather has been cold and I enjoy the fresh glowy look this time of year. Power Fabric has a satin finish and a bit more coverage so would be a good option if you live in a warmer climate or need more coverage under the eyes!
It is super cold here in Denmark, so for the winter the luminous one is the way to go 🥶 thank you for taking the time to reply and help me change my makeup game over the years, I use so many of your suggestions and they look so amazing on my skin. 😌

How do you keep yourself from buying into the pretty packages of the makeup.
I think over time I just shifted my thinking and I buy more for what’s inside and how it fits into my everyday life. if it’s gorgeous packaging too then it’s a bonus!
