    Hi great video I have also fitted the new board and works perfect, I was wondering if you had fitted air assist yet. I have tried and cant seem to get it to work I was thinking it would be the same as my diode laser by connecting a relay to the board to operate a solenoid but when I give the command M8 or use the air button on Lightburn it doesn't seem to do anything, I was expecting to see a voltage maybe 5v DC on my meter. It would be nice to hear your comments.
    Kevin.

      Hi Kevin - I don't have air assist yet, but that is a future project (along with lenses and mirrors). I would expect the digital output to turn on when activated -- probably 3.3v given the processor. I will check it out on mine and see what I can figure out. Thanks for watching!

      @@cyberreefguru The Air Assist connector needs to be enabled and requires firmware update, Monport support don't want to help, emailed them , raised trouble tickets but no response. Tried to post about the issue on their official site but the post never get approved by the moderators.

    Thank you for the video, I have a China brand co2 machine. I have installed the Monport control board but I am not able to get it so that Lightburn controls the power to the laser. All movement control works well with Lightburn, PIA having to set power intensity with the control on the machine. with someone could help.

      It's really hard to say, but have checked your "S" setting - should be set to something like 1000 ($30 in the command area).

    There looks to be multiple versions of lightburn available. which version would go with this board?

      I have the latest and it works without a problem. I've not had any issues with any of other lasers with the last 5 or 6 versions, so you should be good to go. Thanks for watching!

    Can you tell me the difference between the v1 vs v2 upgrade boards? I see that the newer board is "easier" to install and that it's 32 bit vs 8 bit but what are the real world benefits? The v1 is $45 vs the $60 for the v2 on their website right now. Any info would be appreciated.

      Hi Dex -- in short, the v2 board is a drop in replacement and the one you want. I've heard some not-awesome things about v1, but I can't validate them, I won't repeat them. Hope this helps.

      Hi Michael - the Lightburn Compatible Nano Replacement Board is the one you want. It is the drop in replacement and super easy to get installed. Thanks for watching!

      Hello David - excellent question. This is a 40 watt CO2 laser. Most diode lasers come Lightburn-ready as *nearly* all of them use standard gcode to control the machine (but not all of them). Thanks for watching!

    what do you do with a journeyman that tends to stall temporarily in tight corners.

    • @cyberreefguru
      @cyberreefguru  Рік тому

      Hello Alan - I don't believe I've heard of this problem. Is it slowing down or actually stalling? Are you using the Buildbotics controller? That controller is designed to automatically slow down in sharp corners to avoid excessive stresses on the bit, but actually stopping is not normal. Though it does depend on your design software; it is possible the machine is being instructed to "stall" -- what CAM software are you using?

      @@cyberreefguru its not the masso so likely buildbotics. i think its just going much slower when the cut gets deeper. i am using fusion. i was wondering if some of the settings could be tweeked? thnx for your help.

    • @cyberreefguru
      @cyberreefguru  Рік тому

      @@adbellable If it's not Masso, then it is Buildbotics. I don't think you can turn the setting off, but have a look through the menus to see if it's possible. Unless you did something special, it's definitely not coming from Fusion. Hope this helps!

    Did you have any issues with max power? Im only getting about 6mA with the settings set to 100% in lightburn.

    • @cyberreefguru
      @cyberreefguru  10 місяців тому

      I have not had any issues, though someone else reported the max power was set very low in Lightburn and had to be adjusted (Device Settings > Basic Settings > S-value Max > 1000). I would look for that setting and see if it needs to be adjusted. Thanks for watching!
