For context the amount of arms doesn't matter, its black or white, supplying arms to a country that is likely to use them against civilians is morally and legally wrong. They're not giving them military and monetary aid out of the kindness of their hearts. They give them military/monetary aid so when they tell them to do something they have leverage over them to force them to comply. If the UK decided to not give any monetary aid to any foreign nations then they would have no leverage to influence foreign nations. For example, foreign nations would start voting against Britain in the United Nations.

A bit of history... years ago the UK was a major arms seller for the IDF, for example the British Centurion tank was the IDF main battle tank in its major wars and was also a best seller world wide, its successor, the Chieftain tank, was initially a British-Israeli co-developement project, but than the MOD decided to kick Israel out... so the IDF eventually developed its own Merkava tailored for its own use and Chieftain was produced less than half the numbers compared to the Centurion, for Challenger the numbers are even smaller...
