    I recently got certified and found your video so incredibly helpful. It’s very well done-concise info with a natural delivery. Thank you for taking the time to put this together.

    Great video! Sadly last November a poor girl died diving because of issues that went wrong because of her buoyancy. There were many factors, she was still newly certified, but her instructors disregarded a lot of things that never should have happened and she sunk to the bottom of the lake.
    A diver trying to rescue her said he tried to hard to get the weights out of her drysuit but run out of air. After reading this i told myself that i want "all" weights to be able to be removed with in seconds. Not looking forward to the uncomfortable part of a weight belt.

      Iam being taught by ScotSac in Scotland and first thing we did was how to remove gear underwater quickly. I wouldnt be comfortable diving without knowing that. Not to detract from your situation. Just iam new to diving and gives me fear hearing things like that

    Greetings from Greece! Very well explained ! All in all, the idea is NOT having to inflate the BCD more than a couple of times during the whole dive

    Get to know what weights you need for a certain dive. Correctly weighted is different depending on what your doing.
    A balanced rig is optimal, generally speaking.

      Try to arch your back like a skydiving position. If you let your legs go limp like a noodle they're going to sink no matter how perfect your buoyancy is.

    Today was my first day of confined water and my fins kept flying forward, rolling me onto my back. Any tips for this? I was thinking maybe ankle weights

    • @FullySubmerged
      @FullySubmerged  2 роки тому +1

      Ankle weights can help to begin with but the root of the problem is your body position. It's a totally new experience but you really have to engage your muscles. If you let your lower half be a limp noodle it's going to act like one. If you know what position a skydiver is in when they jump out of the plane, that's similar to what you're going for. Squeeze your core and arch your back.

      Gotcha. I had no idea my muscles were really even a factor. Like you said I basically just let me legs go limp. I'll give that a try, thank you!

    If you are properly weighted, why do you need ditchable weights? You should have enough weight to keep you down at the end of the dive when you are the lightest. Therefore shouldn’t your weight check be done at the end of the dive?

    • @FullySubmerged
      @FullySubmerged  10 місяців тому

      Ditchable refers to being able to release weight quickly in an emergency not to correct buoyancy

    • @scubajuan
      @scubajuan 10 місяців тому

      @@FullySubmerged, agreed, having ditchable weight at the surface and during an emergency can be very convenient, and should not be used as a means of correcting buoyancy underwater. My point is that it is better to do you weight check both at the beginning so you can go down, and most importantly at the end of the dive when you are at your lightest (with minimal gas).

    So no matter what I do I’m always somehow over weight and or under weight despite what people tell me to use. And then I been trying to do a pbb course but after talking to instructors it goes nowhere and never happens 😅

      @@diverlife2668 Is there somewhere in the ocean near a dock or beach where you could do a weight check before a boat dive? That way you have accounted for the extra buoyancy in salt water but don't have to keep the boat waiting.

    • @FullySubmerged
      @FullySubmerged  Рік тому

      If by "come all the way up" you mean ascending, then yes. You always kick to ascend. You never inflate your BCD for ascent.

      @@FullySubmerged thanks so much I just finished my 9th dive last week and couldn’t believe myself that I was actually capable of ascending from 22 meters just by kicking I used to keep Inflating my bcd then deflating it to control my ascend that made my previous dives so uncomfortable and almost uncontrollable ,, I weight 125 kg my height 183 cm I used to use 16 kg of lead then 14 kg then tried 12 kg at my 8th dive at the begging of the dive everything was ok till I reached 80 bars then started to ascend like a balloon 🎈 I took extra 2kg from the dive master and next dive I used 14 kg and I felt much better controlling my boyonce
