Just got one of these beautiful machines for my birthday because my favorite character uses one. What you say about it is exactly what the show tries to convey about love and communication. Slow, methodical and considerate. For anyone who stumbles across this the show and character is Violet Evergarden. It is a beautiful anime set around the time this typewriter would have been produced and in a fictional world that could be mistaken for post WW1. It is as I stated slow, methodical, considerate but most importantly beautiful. This story along with the few people I work with from post WW2 make me appreciate the craftsmanship and care that made these machines and the stories of loss, love, and acceptance that they could tell. If you watch Violet I hope you love it and I hope you cry at the beauty of Love.
Haha I'm doing something similar, found one for a good price and am buying it , although it has black keys for some reason , but damn you violet evergarden, that sh*t was so beautiful you got me spending big bucks on old keyboards haha.

The 1926 models didn’t have spool caps
Beautiful! I'd love to own an Underwood typewriter like this one day! Either a 4 bank or a 5 😁
