I was almost going to go buy a new dishwasher today.... then thought to see if the E15 error was "fixable". Will have a look tonight to see if I can hold on to my cash a little bit longer. Thanks for taking the time to make this simple little clip!
@@bunyip7343 this is an interesting machine. ours has failed on multiple points already (door spring, E15 mutliple times, broken wire for the door sensor) in the past ten years, still I consider it of good quality, as all the issues were sort of easily fixable. eventually due to the move we have an electrolux now from ikea, lets see how it holds
@@tomscrapwood7883 I got underneath my dishwasher... it was exactly the float sensor as you describe. So thankful for your clip! My dishwasher is at least 12 years old... this E15 error was the first issue we have had - so cannot really complain. Good quality!
I will give you a shortcut for this. If you don't have a screwdriver and you are in an Airbnb and you decided to use dish soap and everything got foamy and water went to the sensor don't open the entire thing just make sure to bang the bottom part with the palm of your hand or something hard and the water that is trapped on the sensor will start to come up from the little ventilation holes or gaps. I did this when I realized what could be triggering the error message and it worked.
Thank you random UA-cam person that took the time to do this perfect short and clear video, helping a noob like myself tremendously. Can’t wait to try this tonight 💙
I have a Siemens, a smaller version, but I had the exact same issue, and thanks to you, I fixed it myself in 15 min, instead of the repair guy that wanted to charge me 500 dollars or to change for a new one. THANKS YOU VERY MUCH !
Good video and information regarding the occasional repeat of this condition. I have completed every troubleshooting step I have been able to find and while I did manage to stop the leaking from the door onto the floor, it still produces enough water to trigger E15 by the 37 min mark of a 40 minute quick wash. New seal, clean out pump area, adjust door seals, check for blockage in drain hoses (drains properly), and clean out of water manifold. Still triggers e15. Almost ready to call for service.
Pro tip: Take off the front cover plate of the door before removing that cover plate in the video and it will be alot easier to get a view inside and also removing and putting back the bottom cover. Try tightening the four screws inside at the bottom of the dishwasher gently (with your hand, not your screwdriver, the plastic breaks easily), it's a common problem with leakage between the "sump" (the bottom "container" inside the machine where both the draining pump and the circulation pump is connected, under the filter) and the "tub". There is a sealing repair kit you could buy for a few dollars but sometimes, tightening the screws is enough. Check if the leakage is there before buying a repair kit. //Technician
Thank you. I have fixed my dishwasher😁. I had to borrow the correct screw driver from my neighbour. I used a plastic pipette to gently siphon the liquid out . Sadly I did not find any Lego under mine which was a shame !!
Another quick “fix” is to wait a day and tilt your machine. Than it works again for a few days. But probably the filter basket rubber is leaking. So you need to replace that thing.
Fantastic!!! Thought I was going to have to dismantle door but this was relatively easy fix. (bit fiddly outing the metal sheet back but other than that was good. I used a wet and dry hover to suck up the little bit of water.
Thank you Tom for this video. My dishwasher does not have a display but it is the same type of dishwasher, a NEF S52E50X1EU. Instead of an error code in a display it beeped 5x as error code.
Indeed. Tbh after the 3rd time I was tired of pulling out the machine, so I just wanted to solve it in-place. Overall this is still the fastest "quick and dirty" solution.
I have this issue as someone in the house decided to use washing up liquid in the machine (even though we have dishwasher tabs and I’ve told them 100s of times not to!). I’ll try fixing later On a side note, the clip on the door has started being really loud when opening the machine. What causes that, do you think?
@@tomscrapwood7883 ha!! No worries - this fox worked a treat though, thank you. Hardest part was finding a screwdriver with one of those stat heads that was small enough to fit in the gap!
😀 Thanks very much. Machine is running again without any trouble. The machine was in storage for a couple of month and afther installing it again first I got E-16 and afther that E-15. Maybe E-16 causes E-15? E-16 has someting to do with water filling not working correctly? Thanks again and keep up the good work. 👍
It is not so evident. In one of the cases for example the front bottom insulation was moist, so I figured at least in that case it was leaking through the door. If the amount of water is high, or issue comes frequently hoses can be checked too, but this is just guessing. For me it happens approx once per year with a really small amount of water, so I never took the time to further investigate.
try to identify the source of the leak. it can easily be the sealing of the door. giving that a clean and refitting can solve the problem. I also experience this issue time by time, but could not find any leak on the piping or other fittings.
You probably have gotten a new dishwasher by now, but check if the zeolite heating element (the metal container in the right bottom corner) is ok, if so, your power module might not be powering it. The zeolite dryer heating element is out of order anyhow. You'll need special tools to replace it and the fan should be replaced aswell. Water coming inside of it is a common cause.
Nice one mate! The solution to my problem. After i fixed the machine and told the mrs. about the cause of the error, she suddenly remembered that she accidentaly splashed several litres of water all over the kitchentable earlier today right above the dishwasher, and the error occured right after that. COME ON, HOW CAN YOU NOT CONNECT THE DOTS WOMAN!? That info coulf have saved me so much time 🤣 instead I startet seaching for broken gaskets. haha. I guess she thinks the same when I fuck up the laundry.. again..
