Quite useful thanks for this Rivet tend to use aws and the dsd pedal anyway so now I know where those are super helpful for tomorrow.
The scenery is really good, huge improvement from Rivet’s past DLCs for TSW (apart from the ballast) The new features, like the TMS, whilst it might not be automatic or incredibly advanced, it’s a good base to build up from. However, the sounds from the 385 just don’t seem accurate, from the livestream it sounded just like a looped wind noise which drowned out every other noise. Whether the sounds are accurate or not, please could someone from Rivet pass onto the team to possibly turn down the wind sounds? I’m hoping at some point in the future a sound patch will come but turning a few things down would be good.

Tbh the amount of crap everyone has been giving them for this good on them, they worked hard to make these things it’s not a simple as just open the software and it’s done it takes time and then for everyone to make the crappy comments they make about it and complaining eventually they are going to have enough. Just appreciate that they make this stuff and add to the experience of the game because without companies like this we wouldn’t have as much dlc as we do
Oh here we go yet another foamer who doesn't accept the fact that criticisms exist, just because someone talks "crap" about a developer does not mean they should throw it back at them, it's just unprofessional and downright arrogant.
Nobody is appreciative that £30 is having to be spent on something full of inaccuracies being done by developers who seem to care less about the core aspects of a train and more about the insignificant details like working lifts and pianos that play.
Will the motors have the rising pitch in the IGBT whine and the pitch change in the VVVF drive, the one where it goes from a whine to a low hum? I couldn't hear them in the preview stream.

This is exactly what I’m looking for too. It sadly seems like they haven’t done that which is rather disappointing as it’s an absolutely key part of what makes the 385 sound so fantastic alongside the initial whine. I hope this is rectified at some point in a post-release patch.
@@jaxxster4517 I feel like they have but its done very poorly and at a very low speed
They did mention something in the release stream about not being able to record from attaching microphones to the underside of the train. They mentioned working with ScotRail to arrange something.
Ahh yea, me and my friend were actually speaking about this too yesterday. Really hope this goes ahead in the near future so we can get to experience the 385’s lovely sounding motors the way they should be. 🤞 It’s my absolute favourite sound, so hearing it so inaccurately done is a bit saddening

This is a really great tutorial video, but I have one question. How can I turn on the heating system on the Br class 385 train? On the other trains, there is the temp controller and you can adjust the strength of the fan, etc., but in this train I can not find these things anywhere. 😔
Very good tutorial Rivet, I have 2 questions:
1) Is it likely we could get more DLC for this route because I think it would make this route much more enjoyable and realistic as you would never just see 385's on this route, there are other trains such as the 334 and 170.
2) how would you realistically drive this train? Like for example some trains like the 1972 stock have to be put into notch 2 and then after a certain speed, notch 3. can we just go full throttle out of a station without a speed limit below 30 mph? A tutorial on that sort of thing would make the experience more realistic as i and others would know we are driving the train in the correct way, Thank you Rivet
Regarding question 2, there is an article over on the tsw UA-cam page where a real driver was interviewed and he goes into detail. Basically don't want to go full power otherwise you'll take off like a rocket.
@@potatoman451 I did read that article but that was only when coming out of Edinburgh I believe which has a low speed limit, which would be the case for any train, like with a 377, coming out of Brighton should be done in notch 2, but any other station which doesn't have a low speed limit can be done with notch 4 if that makes sense
I definitely want to buy that route but unfortunately it won't be until Tuesday January 31st as I have a PlayStation 5 😭

good train, not so keen on the interior lighting, there is no chime before the announcements irl, and the motor sounds are completely off
this is all another language to me. just trying to watch as many tutorial vids before i buy the game. every train so different. is there a good order of trains to learn to build up or do i just jump in the deepend also.. great vid. found so many vids and streams of this game where no one talks. strange.

Really looking forward to this guys, just one question does the TMS work as a train advisory system just like the real 385 advising which power notch to travel in as well as current line speed?
I don’t believe so. DTG did a preview live stream & stated that wasn’t supported. Which is disappointing.
After all, it's not really a required feature. The priority is put into simugraph, putting important features for driving such as safety/signaling systems, basic driving controls, guard panels, headlights, etc. Then everything else is secondary. Remember the advisory thing would need additional simulation so creating that is probably not easy. It's a nice to have but not really required to be able to drive the train

You show how to set the isolators "TPF,DSD,AWS,DRA,TPWS" with no explanation as to what they do and some of these are not mentioned in The TSW3 manual. It is alright referring to abbreviations but not everyone knows what they mean.

I have a question. Do certain announcements such as ‘this train is approaching…’ play automatically throughout the route or will I have to press a button every time?
You will have to do it manually. If you want it playing periodically, you can put it on continuous

Why is the master key so tall? have they subbed a T key for an EP key? or is that what drivers use on this unit or have Rivet struck gold again and messed up?

Why is it so expensive there’s add on
There's some on sale I would wait on this one until this on sale you can get Cathcart for £9.99 I got tees Valley, class 20, heavy freight pack and Cathcart for £40 it would of been £72 if there wasn't a sale. The cheapish routes are West Somerset, Isle of Wight 2022, Isle of Wight with the class 483 try buying addons with more then one train. Hope my suggestion helps.

Do you guys seriously not know what a T-Key is? You don't use the master key to open up door panels etc... Also the SPAD light is permanently illuminated....

That's how it looks like in real life. If real people can drive it, then so can you
yeah god forbid they make it exactly as it is in REAL LIFE. You would be the first to complain if they made it non accurate about it not being correct yet here we are they do it as real life and someone has to complain.

@@RivetGames Hi Rivet Games. Yes, i am aware of it, beeing just like the real deal and you did a fantastic job with modelling the train as always. In hindsight i realise, that i might had to be more specific with my earlier comment :). It wasn't ment to be a complaint against your work @rivet games, but more towards the construction of the train itself. It's obvious, that you couldn't change anything in that regard. :). I personally just don't like to drive trains in tsw, that you can barely see out of. And this new one here, is just a tad bit extreme for my liking. But that's just my personal taste and nothing to worry about on your side. You did a great job and i am happy that you continue to deliver amazing content.
@@flightsimmer9809 Hi! yeah i realised, that my comment earlier might be a bit misunderstandable. I'm not criticising the modeling of the train, since rivet games did a great job with that. It's just my personal taste, that i hate to drive trains in tsw with such tiny windows and this one here is just a bit to extreme for my liking. But that's just me and if you like it, good :) Actually i'm absolutely not complaining if a few things might not be as accurate as in reality... I thing that the gameplay-factor should always be more important than extremely accurate simulation. Yet tsw in general hits the spot just right most of the time.
