@@basestone Injury just shortened his career, unfortunately. Richter is easily in the same discussion with Joseph, but Roy, Hasek and Brodeur? His GAA and Sv% numbers are nowhere near Hasek and Brodeur won more games than Richter even started, while even Roy has a good 200+ more wins. I love Richter, but he's going to be behind Lundqvist on the list of all-time goalies for just the Rangers, let alone in the discussion with the all-time greats.
I’m a Bruins fan but I loved Mike Richter-seems like every time the Bruins would play the Rangers back then the Bruins would outshoot the Rangers but because of Richter the Rangers would end up winning the game-so athletic and clutch-his game 7 performance against the Canucks was brilliant
3:23 Imagine pulling off that fake, and thinking you’ve scored one of the easiest goals in playoff penalty shot history, just to have the puck jump over your blade.
The one called on Tamer in OT 12:19 was not delay of game, dude made a sick play to stop it from crossing the line and fell into the net! If they scored to win on that it would of been a riot! Lol
That was the Nedved game. Barrasso with back spasms, Lemieux getting thrown out because of MORE officiating incompetence. I swear Fraser had it in for the Pens.
God I miss 90s hockey. All the Russian superstars who arrived, jagr and Mario, gretz was still amazing, can keep going. I miss the old arenas, the music they played in arenas and the game in general. Just my thoughts tho. Was my childhood so that probably why I see it that way. But I truly did think it was more entertaining and you felt the emotional side of the game
I’ve always wondered why when they first painted the crease blue they also painted the ice inside of the net blue. Growing up i was always fascinated by it and wanted to have it at the rinks i played at. Just a weird quirk of mine i guess, but can’t find any literature on it
I know steve duchesne in real life he come in quebec sometime to see is familly, he know my grand-father well so i already talked to him. What a great man!!
Pittsburgh announcer says "a player can't make a save in the crease--only the goalie" ? Whaaaaat? The rule is a player can't COVER AND FREEZE the puck in the crease--not the goalie.
Back when they skated straight in and took the shot. None of that stop start nonsense like now. And it only took 30 years to finally see the Miller attempt from '90. 😊
Alexandre Lambert no the save percentages aren’t the same. They took more shots because it had a higher chance to go in from anywhere remember the classic blue line clapper on the rush?
Were you watching the Toronto Maple Leafs version of him lol. If anything he's underrated. Norris trophy, Conn Smythe trophy, World Cup champion and one of the highest scoring defensemen in league history? Yeah he's overrated 🙄
1:33 Mike ritcher was amazing only 5'11 1994 he was unstoppable. 🏆
He saved the Rangers forsure, Nucks were on a mission
Grew up playing at my home rink! Great dude

wait I dont get it, why do people still support Donald Trump?
I can't believe how often players threw their sticks.
These are amazing
The Basil McRae backhand was golden!
God, I miss that North Stars group.

Gotta love Mike Richter idolized him when I was younger playing and he's killing it in this video

I always forget about penalty shots, they basically never happen anymore, great video!
I'll never forget Richter stopping Bure in 94. Easily the most important save of his career.
I love the playoffs especially the 1990s
Those old North Stars uni's were slick!
Mike richter is the best goalie ever. #letsgorangers
I can not wait until hockey comes back

Hers comes Bure against Mike Richter...
SAVE BY RICHTER!
-bill clinton voice- "I did not go five hole on Mike Richter"
@@BaLLHands87 Well done
Will you guys please do deflection goals? Its such an underrated way to score.
How does the NHL channel only have 1.45 subs
Nice, who could dislike this.
That save by Richter on Wood before the penalty shot was highway robbery
14:58 almost loses puck then almost kills the ref.
Why was Jiggs and Eddie calling a Ranger game?
i'm sorry but he definitely kicked his stick away
4:28 So weird seeing Kirk McLean without a nash blocker
“Save by Richter!”
11:00 should’ve just been a goal outright
I think it would have been good if Samuelsson didn’t touch it.
Richter was one flexible dude.
For my money, Brian Leetch is still the best US-born D man in NHL history.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen richter let in a break away
I know steve duchesne in real life he come in quebec sometime to see is familly, he know my grand-father well so i already talked to him. What a great man!!
I’ve been for NHL games
Wot
I wanna see all penalty shots in the playoffs
Sick
In the 90s, every other shot against the Rangers in the Playoffs was a Penalty Shot. Good thing Leetch was a great scorer 😂.
I'm convinced that if Bure scores his chance on Richter, the Canucks take that Cup.
Kapanen approves this video.
"Here comes Bure against Mike Richter, SAVE BY RICHTER!"
moral of the vide: Pittsburgh ice is horrendous
Pittsburgh announcer says "a player can't make a save in the crease--only the goalie" ? Whaaaaat? The rule is a player can't COVER AND FREEZE the puck in the crease--not the goalie.
It's missing Vanbiesbrouck making the save on Sundin in 1999.
did anyone tell the rangers any of the rules back then?
They spoiled the Bure and Richter shot
hockey is real! it's not a myth.
A few questionable calls....
Yeah between fraser and stewart, there was some pretty poor reffing.
never realized how terrible these calls were..

If you want to know why Gretzky scored so much its because these are the goalies he got to play against.
Save percentage of these goalies were the same as today's goalies, it's just that there were more shots per game, these are good players.
Alexandre Lambert no the save percentages aren’t the same. They took more shots because it had a higher chance to go in from anywhere remember the classic blue line clapper on the rush?
Cool 😎
Cool
Worst goalies ever they are off balance and look like men’s league tenders
Brian Leetch, Mr. Overrated!!

How bad are these goalies Jesus . They are awful
