"the vampires of innistrad are very protective of their human flock, that's why Sorin had to create Avacyn to stop them from eating humans to extinction"
crazy that in the end he had to destroy her because she became crazed while being imprisoned with all the demons in the helvault, and when the eldrazi came to innistrad
great video! also, there is a great description about Ravnica vampires, in Child of Night flavour text: "No guilds-that is her rule. The House [Dimir] vampires unnerve her. The [Simic] Combine would dissect her, the [Boros] Legion burn her, the [Selesnia] Conclave “cure” her. The shadows are all the family she needs."
Baron Sengir was announced in the commander legends product coming at the end of this year so I'm hoping they make him good since the sengir vamps are the OG's
The color used in the art makes me wishful that he'll be in Grixis colors. Do you think they will go tribal or just powerful with him? I imagine he'll retain some sort of +1/+1 counter ability.
It would be cool if he protected all your vampires since the original card used to regenerate other vampires. I'd like to just see a powerful card that helps reduce some of the weaknesses in tribal vampires. I think its always going to be difficult for the baron to replace Edgar Markov as a tribal commander since eminence gets so much value for free. Instead, i feel like the Baron should help reduce the weaknesses in an Edgar Markov type deck. One of the big issues with the aggressive Edgar token spam strategy is dealing with board wipes from opponents, so if the Baron can be a powerhouse that can grant protection/utility that would be nice. The baron has a solid role to play as a finisher in vampire tribal if they give him the right ability and protection. Having cards with hexproof/indestructible is super valuable so I'd like to see the Baron move towards that sort of ability where hes extremely difficult to remove or provides protection to other vampires. I think that would be a really nice addition to the 99 with Edgar still as the commander. In order for the Baron to replace Edgar, he would need some sort of strong eminence or superior utility/recursion. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with him. I just dont want them to give him a mediocre ability since hes been unplayable for decades and deserves an undeniably strong card. The barons old card as a high costed beater was unplayable, so they need to ensure that he does something significant instead of creating counters when attacking, that just doesn't cut it. Do you like the new art?
I couldn’t help but think about the fourth angel sister or at least the angel (Marcyz) and the use of her blood in the origin of the Innistrad planeswalkers with the demonic pact Edgar made with Shilgengar. So with that, AND my love for angels , Serra, and speculation of their state on multiple planes, I’m Voting angels for the next vid !
I've started work on the next "study in" video, although not on Angels it does focus on another winged creature.. Angels will definitely have a video down the road so stay tuned!
You have made me so proud to have made a vampire deck featuring the one and only Barron. I made it my mission to collect all of the homelands cards after I saw it for the first time. My sengir family, vampires, bats, and Mr.Norrit helped me to be unbeatable for a time. Thank you for giving this card it's much needed love
Personally I am a great fan of vampires in magic and even run vampire tribal deck that is mono black since they are originally that color. This was an awesome video and I enjoyed it a lot
Must...do...more...research! 😂 Lpve the lore and explanations! Hopefully we get more vampires for future sets so you can add onto this video! Thanks for the video and keep it up! 🙏🙏🙏
You're making videos about tribes as well?! Nice! I would like to suggest so many tribes xD Edit: I have finished the video... so here are my suggestions: Dinosaurs, Wolves/Werewolves, Birds, Elementals, Cats, Beasts, Nightmares, Bears, Rhinos, Hippos, Elephants, Wolverines, Badgers, Foxes, Dogs. Your "Lore Gathering" is fantastic!
@@TheLorebrarians Some tribes would make short videos, but I wouldn't mind if you made one video about related creature types, like badgers, wolverines and bears (caniformia carnivorans), but please do as you will :3
@@TheLorebrarians Question… what is the name of the card the art of that vampire in the black and white robe and the staff/spear on the background during the last part of the ixalan vampire description?
Great vid, i subscribed right away. There is a piece i was missing tho; Sorin also turns human into vampire's on other planes. To get a small following, information or sustenance. When he was looking for Ugin he did just that. He turned a few mardu warriors, you can see it on the card Sorin's Guide. Also when Sorin was turned bij Edgar his planeswalkers spark ignited and went on blood craze on other planes. He seeded a few planes with (Innistrad) vampirism.
BTW, I don't know if there's an official phisiology study on Mirrodin's vampires, but I'm convinced that they actually "drink" through their claws... I know it sounds stupid, but hear me out for a second, ok? First of all it would not be the first time a "fictional fluid drinker" has this kind of phisiology, just think of the MotU villain Leech or the animated version of the 90s Spiderman cartoon of Morbius. With that said let's think on how more effective this is: lounging with your arm outstreched will project your weight to the front, adding momentum to your assault, diving with your hand will put your arms at risk, truly, but risking the head will be undoubtedly worse (lose an arm, you can still survive, lose your head... well... *Brutal Legends "DECAPITATION" audio clip insert*), to top it all having a suction organ as long as those claws will help greatly in srpassin the hard metal exterior of Mirrodin's natives while "normal" fangs would have a really hard time.
Very good video, but I noticed it didn't include the vampires or Kaladesh. I would be interested to see an explanation of the Atherborn Vampires like Yaheni
@@TheLorebrarians thank you for your awesome lore dive video. It hyped me up to use the deck even more. I've been sitting on it for months because I have no one to play with. First build so she still has some editing to do, trying to get that perfect three colors readily available, and focuses on a lot of lifelink/sacrifice/proliferate/protection spells. My first batch of cards I bought I think I grabbed too many high mana vampires. Might get to use it tomorrow night though! Can't wait. Thank you again for your awesome videos and introducing me to magic lore outside of the games and flavor texts.

Notice how vast the art styles were on the older cards, I feel like most of the art except for a notable few or alt art cards, share all the same kind of style and they don’t take as many risks and stick with hyper realistic art that’s matter of fact and simply shows exactly what the card says and never is there interpretation
