Cool, the missing knot wouldn't have taken away anything from time in my opinion had you left it.. awesome job .
That looks amazing. The way you've worked the scorching into it, down to a faceted grain with the wax - beautiful.
Thank you very much! I was surprised how well if came out.
Fantastic job. Very satisfying watching you brush the char off. Was not expecting that finish to be under all of that black.
Thanks Danny, the soft brush worked well keeping the wood intact when removing the char
That finish is amazing.
Peter, Thanks for the comment. I was very pleased with it too, it wasn't too labour intensive and I think it would be repeatable! If you like it and want to see more things like this subscribe to the channel 😁
Very nice sir. Perhaps alternate the grain pattern when lining up the boards to prevent cupping next time. Love the scorch effect 👍
No cupping, timber was well seasoned and quite thick. Been in the house for a couple of years now...
Amazing, the results are worth it, I liked the finish!
Thanks Annie!
Brilliant job
Thanks, I liked it so much I added a arcade games machine inside!
Nice table , but i expect its started warping as two of the boards are the same orientation .
Still a nice table after 2 years, if you allow the timber acclimatise in the area you use it you'll get minimal movement...just don't try to restrain it! 😉
Excellent job...
Thanks Chris!
Really like how that turned out mate.
Thank you!
Great table! Tfs, liked and joined you. See you soon.
Thanks so much, let me know if you want to see anything.
beautiful work 😍
Fantastic job, looks brilliant, what router bit did you use for the edges of the table?
Thanks Steve! I bought the bit for routing the edge of worktops, I think the intended use is for shaping the top of handrails, it's about 42mm shallow curve...if you need more let me know and I'll have a look for it
@@HowtoWoodworking thats perfect thanks very much 👍
Fantastic mate well done
Thanks Jon!
When the knot flew out, why not turn the table over, as it didn’t seem to be as bad on the other side?
Just an observation. 🤷♂️
💂♂️🇬🇧
possibly, but it would have still shown as it was on the edge. I would've picked the best side to be on top so id have to of had the rejected side and i only had to maye 3/4 of an inch...you have to take a view when your doing it, but either way could've worked
That looks superb 👌🏼
Alan, Thanks I was really pleased! If you like it, subscribe, there are loads of other woodworking videos that everyone can learn from coming up!
yep, deserved a like and a comment to say i like....
Thanks!
What electric planer do you use please? All the others I've seen used table saws which I don't have, so interested to know what you used.
I use a bosch, not sure of the model, but it runs true.
Lovely job 👍🏻 I’d invest in a circular saw though 😁
Thanks Lewis, where would you have used one? I do have one, but I always worry about breakout across the grain.
@@HowtoWoodworking you would have got a much cleaner cut on the edges.
@@hitchjack I think you're right that the edges would be cleaner...but I would still need to plane and match so in this case it wouldn't save and require an additional expensive tool.
Wow didnt know fire could colour that nice
Hey, thanks! Check out the arcade table if you liked this!
What type bit is in your router
hi its a curved bit, ive used it for edgeing worktops but i think its for handrail tops...
Ahhhh that makes sense can't find one but will try again table came out great 👍
Briwax is the absolute bomb easiest finish i have ever used
i agree
