The more I listen to Yonina, the more I become aware of why they stand out so much. I am not a Jew (though I spend a lot of time with Jews, visit synagogues etc.), I'm not even religious, simply a secular humanist, I have little time for similar singers in evangelical Christianity, whom I find maudlin or brash. I'm the last person who should be able toi take enormous pleasure listening to Yonina sing religious songs in Hebrew. But I feel lifted up and inspired every time I listen to anything they sing. Tonignt it has occurred to me why. There is something deeply universal about Yonina, both their singing and themselves. Their melodies and harmonies reach very deep. But that is matched by those smiles and their evident delight in being together and in doing what they do. They seem to be filled with benevolence. To be more than mere musicians, but conveyers of peace and harmony. As a very long-standing pro-Israel activist, I also find them a perfect symbol of what Israel is at its best. When we see a Palestinian couple sing like this, singing songs like 'One Day' with real feeling, we may have hope of an end to the hatred.
you're a shameful disgrace to Judaism Caitlin.. the ignorance and b.s. you wrote is astounding..as the daughter of a holocaust survivor , im disgusted at the b.s. u just spewed....Israel is NOT trying to wipe out the palestinians, give your head a shake, cuz its apparently void of a brain
I'm sorry about your family history and the trauma endured. My family too endured a lot of persecution and torture though not directly in the holocaust. With that much trauma I would imagine you too do not stand for violence of any people. I invite you to be kind with your words. Take, tikkunolam, you criticizing me and telling me I am devoid of a brain and then sending me an article from an unreliable source of a wordpress blog account does as much as reiterate that there is a lot of trauma in Jews and Israel. If you think I am so misinformed, an act of kindness not shame would probably be effective - however... When we left Israel the first time, we risked it being occupied by somebody else. Entitlement and violence has been perpetrated against innocent Jewish people throughout history (greeks, romans, germany etc. etc. etc.) and now the same pattern is being perpetuated in Israel. Jewish leaders have been claiming territories that were originally Palestinians and building cities on top of Palestinian territories. Look up Hebron. Jews literally have built on top of the Palestinian cities and have no respect! They urinate on the people below and throw trash at them. JAgain I am so sorry about your family, I wish I had superpowers to undo the trauma and horror that your family went through. I would however do some research. My only point is that Palestinians are kind people too, they want peace, they don't want to have to go through checkpoints every day because Israeli wealth/white/jewish supremacy doesn't trust them. It's sickening and I am in so much grief that my own people turn a blind eye to this - choosing instead a victim stance to justify the acts of war against a vulnerable population - a REFLECTION of ourselves not too long before. A'salam Shalom
if you dont still realize how wrong you, try googling Bassem Eid, a palestinian human rights activist who lives there, and he travels the globe speaking truth to lies and dispels the myths that you keep writing about that did NOT happen...you will possibly learn how wrong you are, as well as the nonsense you are writing...if you have any respect for yourself and your ancestral homeland, get educated from a palestinian...who better to speak truth than 1 who lives there, he is a palestinian who used to work for the crooked NGO B'tselem who lies and provides propaganda 24/7 about Israel, when he realized how fulla crap they were, he stopped working for them....telling lies to make the palestinians look better, does nothing for them but makes things worse...they elected hamas a terror organization as their gov't, they reap what they sow....NOW, most palestinians wish they lived under Israeli sovereignty...Caitlin i realize you are young but i strongly recommend learning facts rather than writing FALSE information which only adds to rampant anti semitism, raw jew hatred based on nonsense...is Israel perfect? hell no, but then no country is, however holding Israel to a double standard that no other country is held to, makes you part of the problem, not the solution....i can handle dealing with an anti semite far easier than i can a leftist self hating jew...while your intentions may be good, you are creating problems and adding to the hate by writing false information.
Oh, dear, Leonis. I not only know about the Baha'i religion, I was a Baha'i for many years until I became disillusioned by it. Look me up on Amazon or somewhere or the Baha'i Virtual Library etc.: I am today';s leading academic authority on Babism, on which I have written many books and articles (look for my book 'The Messiah of Shiraz'). I have written many of the encyclopedia articles on Babism and Baha'ism. So I do understand the Baha'i relations with other religions, but think the idea that so many conflicting doctrines teach one truth utterly ridiculous and the idea that all of their founbders were 'Manifestations of God' riculous. The 'Manifestation of God' Mazhar-e Elahi concept is straight out of Shi'ire Islam and is meaningless when applied to men like the Buddha or the mythical Hindu deity Krishna, let along various 'prophets' in American Indian lore. I could write pages about this. But I am happiest to be a secular atheist, while respecting religious beliefs like Judaism. But I'm glad you have watched and seen Yonina.
Yonina, Ani v'ishti ochavim otchem ...Anachnu lo yodim ledabrim Hebrit o anglit aval zot devarim shelanu lachem (from Brazil). Todah and tankyou for change our life with your musics!!!
Here is a translation to English : I offer my thanks to you, every morning For having returned me my soul I offer my thanks to you for the clothes You have laid on my body To keep me from the cold, you protect me I offer my thanks to you, every morning For the light, for the fact that I am alive I thank you for the bread You have put on my table So I won't know hunger, and so I won't feel pain I offer my thanks to you for my countless smiles For my talents and for all my songs All of my songs are dedicted to you Know, know that I thank you I will cry for you, your glorious name, I will call for you ya For you my life for you my thanks I will call for you ya, I will call for you ya I offer my thanks to you, every morning For the strength, for my father and for my mother I offer my thanks to you, for the rain you poured on my fields To care for my loved ones, you gave me my life
I believe that Yonina and Israel and the Jewish world have a lot of light with which to illuminate hearts, through their families. They have that light, that love and that peace, typical of the presence of God among them. I declare myself in love with the Jewish family.
I first found this song maybe 3 1/2 years ago and listened to it so often. I lost track of it soon after I found it and have been wanting to find it again now that I'm starting my conversion journey. So glad that I stumbled across this song again!! 💕✡
The star of the performance is the cute baby who so patiently accompanied her parents without making any tantrums , god bless ! Greetings from India !!
You beautiful brother & sisters make me smile & fill my heart with warmth. My husband and I are musicians also, and the connection between you is as obvious and beautifully soothing to me as the one I share with my husband and son. Be Harmonic, Be Kind, Be Peaces of The Puzzle. Much love...

This is so beautiful and I love how the child stares at her parents while singing! It makes me sad that orthodox religious women are not supposed to sing, the world is missing many beautiful voices like this one.
Beautiful! Shabbat Shalom and Happy Sabbath from Hong Kong! I discovered this after searching for the Modeh Ani, which I just heard (in English) on "The Chosen." Thank you for using your talent to bring a smile to God and reminding us all of his daily blessings.

Yonina - Shabbat shalom. I only found you today and am very blessed to hear your beautiful voices and the words which bring life and comfort. May YHWH bless you as you are a blessing to all who hear.

This is what happiness looks like....
Incrível! Amazing! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
You are such a beautiful couple and your voices are so soothing!! All the love to Israel from the US!!!
