Cutting back in the Gravel Garden

Gardener Scott shows us how to cut back different perennials in the Gravel Garden to make way for the new growth to emerge.
At this time of year when the ground is frozen, the team try to avoid walking on the lawns so turn their attention to the gravelled areas where this isn't a problem. It is still to early to cut back grasses such as Stipa tenuissima so these will be revisited in about a months time.

Thanks Scott, a great video. I was interested to learn that Bergenias and Hylotelephiums can be cut back now even thought its frosty, another job added to my To Do List !
