when using pathy how do you launch yourself into the air when you grapple the ground?

You just jump right after your grapple connects to the ground. Don’t try too hard to do them simultaneously, because you’ll end up jumping early. It’s a fairly forgiving window where you can jump after it connects and for because game physics you’ll go flying into the air. It’s definitely a fundamental tech on Pathy. I’d recommend hopping into the firing range and just playing around with it. You can get it down to where you never miss them after about five minutes.
