  • The woman says "There's something wrong with the boat." I agree... it's the guy driving the boat!

    I've seen that problem before. The boat has a faulty connection that runs from the chair to the steering wheel. Seen it many times.

    Keith I do a series called boneheaded boaters of the week would you mind if I used about 30 seconds of this in one of the episodes? I would of course give you credit for taking the video in it.

    "There's something wrong with the boat." The driver got his license out of a Wheaties box. :)

      There is nothing in the boating license exam that covers how to drive the boat.

      Take a look at his propellers at 2:20 when he accelerates. The drive (the gearbox where the propeller is) is not fixed and is pushed out of the water. So there is actually something wrong with the guy's boat.

      Then turn the damn engine off and get a tow!!! How many boats did they hit?

    Actually, watch the stern drive pop out of the water at 2:21 under hard reverse. That shouldn’t happen. There’s a reverse lock down on some drives that can break.

      Just noticed that prop pop out too. Definitely something broke

    Don't dock by committee. One person in charge.

    There's something wrong with the boat for sure, but it's an easy fix; never let that person be in control of it again.

    Don't people think about having some lessons before getting on a boat. But then saying that it has got a wheel so it must be the same as a car 🤣🤣

    The moment when you realize driving a boat is harder than a car. Also, the camera guy should have helped if he was a member of this marina other than shaming someone.

    How hard can it be?! I had an old 28 foot wooden junker of a boat with shaft drive and an engine that would die in neutral. Docked it with wind down a canal far smaller than this without issue. Just take it easy and take your time. Geez.

    • @kailaniandi
      @kailaniandi 2 роки тому

      No. This is why some should take responsibility and get lessons. Cards are just another tax/fee. I safely single hand my Catalina 30 , and the harbor patrol watch me in complete control all the time. I teach safety to everyone on my vessel as well as other boaters. Cards for 'tards' maybe, but Ask me to produce one will see someone getting a pole into the water and I'll leave em to it.

    Too heavy handed on the throttle. Just use the drift and calm down. Tell mama to quit wandering around and tell that guy aft to stay put.

    And they call it pleasure boating......No brakes, no control....and as the panic sets in...the boat takes on a mind of its' own, as the adjustments don't help, they are not the ones you need, so you adjust again...the panic gets worse, then you hit boats, as you use an aluminum pole to fend yourself off...that usually bends....ping pong goes on...and you wonder why in hell you ever thought you had this handled.....being parallel to a horizontally docked boat....pushing off again...your dock seems like a needle head now......If you don't dock on a regular basis, this is what alcohol was truly meant for......

    If you're at the dock, you turn off the motor. Especially if you have crew on the dock.

    • @cody39yrs

      Exactly but unfortunately they weren't at a dock now were they?

    • @kailaniandi
      @kailaniandi 2 роки тому +1

      They were close enough to paddle or pole to the slip, and putting the motor in neutral is the only sensible move. Easy to drift, but foolish and possibly expensive to continue motoring out of control. Hard to crash a boat that is not being propelled, into other boats. Easy to fend off from other boats and make way to a slip without a shit show and possibly wreaking your boat. Regardless of whether the boat was working properly, this lack of proper procedure almost caused millions in damages.

  • @kennyrogers3919

    First of all I think his motor is trimmed all the way up? And he should practice with remote control boats before he try’s out a big boat 😂😂😂
