The big difference between eleine and the witch of the lake is attack power. If the lake witch catches you with literally anything, you're basically instantly dead.
Addendum: Eleine is in a self-contained arena. Witch of the lake? *Open bridge where she can go wherever she wants* meaning she can go offscreen and belt out a line of lightning bolts. Thank god for the iron rampart tho.

In a run I'm *currently on*, I believe I've come across something along the lines of your most ridiculous run. Here's a list of what I've got. To say the least, my previous run was my first time getting to the sisters fight, and dying to them. I'm now in the castle. Still can barely do the platforming. List of things: Reaper, Gambler, Fighter, and Great Warlock (just now). Mana Bone, Ritual Staff, Elementalist's Blessing, 2nd Elementalist's Blessing (Slime NPC), all 5 spirits. Edit: I just got Infinite Bone in the last shop. Replaced Mana Bone.

@@Beelz55 Just did, looks nice. Also looks like you keep some of the upgrades from previous unless you have to re-unlock them. Doubtful though since there are new ones like the grappling hook. I remember not wanting to finish it because I didn't want it to end. I don't even remember if I DID finish it, I remember I beat every boss except the last and can't remember if I beat the last. Salt and Sanctuary was one of the few Souls-like games that I thoroughly enjoyed enough to keep playing until the end. That said iirc the healer abilities were kinda OP(there was a damage spell I remember that one shot a lot of enemies early on). Think I might redownload it.
