Is this were the tale of 'Jack and the Beanstalk' came from?
I wonder if we ever did have giants, or even just very large men, maybe 10ft or so. There seems to be so much history mentioning them.
It's a fun thought at least i suppose.

There is normally a grain of truth in most legends, so as you say, maybe a tribe of extra tall men existed in the dim and distant past and were hunted into extinction by modern man.
