I'd need to gear mini up to hit that speed with stock motor. Would be 10,000 RPMs! I'd image it would be scary. My tires wouldn't take the speed either. Would have to go back to smaller road tires.

Your truck is starting to look great. I used mine to commute (to work on Mondays and back on Fridays), 220km one way. Here in South Africa you really need to keep up with traffic in Gauteng Province where I worked otherwise you are asking for trouble. This means sometimes going as fast as 140km/h (you get used to the sensation - scary at first). Having a 1300cc 16 valve motor helps. The only problem I only noticed afterwards was hearing loss from the constant hum in the cab. (Please ensure that you use ear plugs when driving these cars long distance). My truck isn't used on a regular basis anymore. It is parked in my storage shed. Due to me now working in a more rural part I'm using my Land Rover Defender Puma purely for the bigger wheel diameter due to the bad road conditions. What I do not get is the excellent fuel consumption I had with my mini.
Additional note, the high neutral low range selector is mechanical when you pull it up into low range it must hit a switch and actuate the 4 by 4 because when you put it in for high you have to push the button to actuate it so I have to find that wire
Some of the taller lift kits for 4WDs have an angled axle block to ease the driveshaft/axle angle towards the transfer case. Maybe, check into something like that when you address the air-shocks. Longer U-bolts may be required tho.
that's a good idea although that angle doesn't look too far off if you see it in the video it's the actual angle off of the tails peace. Universal joints are only supposed to go 15 degrees Max

Hey MotoCheez, what are the dimensions of your wheels? I though one of the episodes said 12x7 3+4? Is that correct or are they 4+3? Thanks for the great series!

Oh, maxxis makes good tires. I have them on just about everything i have except for the odd continentals and some random D brand and off course regular cars, their compounds are too soft for my like.
i've always been irritated by jeeps (etc) never having 2wd low! being able to shift low to high while in 1st gear would be nice too heavy trailer? hill start? gotta kill your clutch
They used to have the option years ago, and they even made dual lever Tcase conversions.. I guess they do it to "idiotproof" Tcase syncros!! I can go from low to high if I'm rolling slow. Or just put in the 2 gear rear axle 😁😁😁 which wouldn't be good for a 4x4...

The front is what engages the 4x4 now by electric over vacuum, should be easy. Another guy said there's a switch on the Tcase that I can mess with to do it.
@@MotoCheez i wasnt forsure if it was like a jeep lever or what , i know i looked into that what i told you on a 98 model expedition i had was awd and i wanted to cut the front out without doing a full solid axle swap in , thanks for the info too i am still researching and teying to find me one
Nice!! They're a blast, like having a street legal UTV
If I would swap a motor it would be a rx8 with trans and Axel to Max out but there I am I need stock may go with itb with superchrager
👍👍
haha, now I wonder if your wife is in on it for the video or if its like my wife and seriously pissed "did I hear you say you got more tires?" ahahaha
She makes funny comments like this but not really mad.. it's how we joke around.
@@MotoCheez same thing here. Shell blow up like that infront of friends just to be an ass but everything I do and buy is either to make money with it, or its already paid for itself!
👍
Your wife though 😂😂
Lol😄
How much should one expect to pay for one of these gems? I've seen ads for a similar truck from India a few years ago, but those are NEW & likely more expensive than these 25-year-old models.
These go for $4000 and up
Hey MotoCheez, what are the dimensions of your wheels? I though one of the episodes said 12x7 3+4? Is that correct or are they 4+3?
Thanks for the great series!
I have an episode I measured the wheels, 4+3 I believe... It's been a while lol 😁 I believe the link for wheels is in the description of the videos
👍👍👍
🔥🔥🔥
Awesomeness❕
TY 😁😁😁
I know it’s been a couple of years on these tires but how do you like them on the road, I have a Honda acty H3 I noticed you said those are not DOT rated but have you had any problems this truck won’t be driven like a daily driver.
They're great. Jeffro has them on his tiny tonka now, his old tire didn't last. These holding up very good
@@MotoCheez love the front bumper idea also. Thinking outside the box for sure, what wheels are you running, I like the bead lock look, are they 12 x 7?
Now I'm back to stock aluminum w 24" tires. I think they were 12x6 4+3 offsets. Description was in description
Man if you want real torque and good mpg just make a TDi engine swap. 😁
Keep the good work...
Love to see this over here ( Portugal )
👍👍😁
Dover Plains, eh? You are in the middle of nowhere!
😄👍 yep
Oh, maxxis makes good tires. I have them on just about everything i have except for the odd continentals and some random D brand and off course regular cars, their compounds are too soft for my like.
👍👍😁
You should get some of that sound dampening stuff you put on the floor and where ever
Yeah. A few people suggested that I think it's a great idea
I’d drop her another 1/4 “ and get some longer bolts. Like what you’ve done to Mini Truck.
I might go more. Want to test it out. Thanks!!
i've always been irritated by jeeps (etc) never having 2wd low!
being able to shift low to high while in 1st gear would be nice too
heavy trailer? hill start? gotta kill your clutch
You should do an 80’s hauling ass photo shoot, life begins at 42 mph
Ooh, that's good! The T-shirt company I use is easy to do that.. as a T-shirt that is..
Know what's missing now? Deer Whistles.
👍👍👍👍
What editing software do you use please
Power director pro
Who sings the woah, woah?
Tom Jones. What's new pussycat
So is that a yes or no on a Hayabusa swap?
I'm looking for a mini with a blown motor to make a street only version 😁
@@MotoCheez *flips shit, loses mind*
😁😁
The wife always knows...and it usually ain't good.
😁😄😄👍👍
MotoCheez some guys put a mazda rotory motor in a mini the had to fab some new mounts but that was about it
👍 but it's a rotary.. I've seen my share of Apex seals falling out lol
I'm trying to attach a picture of my mini truck (beep beep) with tracks. But can't figure out how
Can't on here. You can post it in Instagram and tag #motocheez or post on motocheez Facebook group.
Thx
Meep!
Meep
Get rid of the "knuckle joints" and put in CV Joint's. Vibrations gone.
True but difficult, the angle should work, I'll find out tomorrow.
Yaay! Mini Truck is getting a 180hp motorcycle engine?
Probably not this one, I want to find another one to build more street
Meep meep! Third today.
👍👍👍😁
Did you have to put a lift kit on it to run those tires?
Yes 2" lift
Ive lost track along the way. Will the 23” Cerros tires rub without the lift?
They'll fit on the hijet without lift
I was going to mention getting some 14/15in wheels to allow you to put some standard road tyres on her. But that would be defeating the point of having a mini truck.
Spending all day swapping wheels around.....Nah
😁😁 if I planned on more road use, I probably would.
Time for some hids in them lights
Have LED projectors in soon! 👍👍
You thinking about window tint?
Yes, I do want to tint the windows nothing crazy oh, I also would like to put a dark band across the top and windshield feels like I'm driving around in a big television screen when I'm going down road
Is a new radio on the list?
Yes 😁
I think a good sport bike motor is a great idea...
Yeah. Really a liquid cooled 750 would be fine!
You drive them tires a lot on the pavement! I’m always afraid if I go to far they will explode.
UTVs use them on the road out west faster than I can go
does the front end for the 4+4 have a vacum or cable for the acuator? 2 to 4+4
Vacuum
I've been sharing your videos with a friend who has been looking into these. We live in Pa. west of Reading, and at the end of October, and the end of April we have a Land Rover Event in Robesonia, Pa. All are welcomed no matter what you drive. Something like that mini-truck would turn alot of heads up this way. The hospital on the other side of the mountain has a couple, but not like yours with the lift and bigger tires. Check out 'Roversclub.org' if you would be interested in coming sometime.
Awesome. Thanks for the invite.
