Kipped on Lingmoor Fell last night , watched moon rise over Windermere, shooting stars galore , no wind , mad hot and not a midge in site , was an absolute pleasure
Such beautiful scenery, I love seeing views like that. Thank you for sharing. Love your dog. You have great videos. Thank you for sharing. God bless you.
I learned a little lesson about midges or whatever you call them over there. Set the camp up on the windward side of the valley. It worked. After I left the cow pen below I was thinking about some kind of boundary. 21:20, Blue doing stretches and cal. Mercy, those little buggers are awful.
Well Al, my new tent landed today (bought from one of your links so hope you get something) I've got my dodgy knee oiled up and dug out my bag and trangia! Test camp coming up to test all the gear and bag packing etc and then I'm off to have a go. Love the content and looking forward to having a go for myself. Cheers and good luck to you and Blue dog.

Having an amazing slow start to Sunday. In a hammock in the woods and a new video 👌🏻….Blea Tarn - nearly went there the other day for a hike/run/swim but went Angle Tarn instead - knew I should have went Blea!! - next time! So many amazing places to visit.. the Lake District is just sooo endlessly stunning and you present it beautifully & with the positivity the world needs more of 🙌🏻
Hi Al - great video as always. Thanks to your inspiration, I've just returned from my first ever wild camp in the Lakes - with 13 year old son along too. Great to spend time together - and away from technology. Up the corridor route to Scafell Pike, over to Great End, down to Esk Hause and camped at Sprinkling Tarn, then down Grain's Gill back to Seathwaite - perfect weather and the tarn looked stunning at sunset and sunrise - as you'd expect. All we needed was an epic dog with us! Keep it up mate - you're inspiring great things...
Absolutely brilliant video. Love seeing Blue enjoying it all as well. Your videos really make me want to try a wild camp with my pup. iv'e purchased the gear to try it. Love your Yorkshire accent. Although little is lost to me in translation ( I lived in the U.K. once, and traveled extensively there), every time you say " tarn" it sounds to me like you're saying " town", and I keep looking for houses and streets.
Hi there, I camped in almost exactly the same spot a couple of months ago,but I made the mistake dropping off the ridge slightly, and,as you say,the midgies were murder. Fantastic place though, even with the little swines buzzing around you. Heading back there next week. I can’t wait.

Bit gutted I didn't see you again, was in a bit of a rush to get set up for four of us after the size of the woodland in Derbyshire the few years before.
Great vid👌🏼 I noticed you used to titanium spoon in the soloist pot. I've always been nervous and use plastic in it instead. Have you had any issues with the coating being scratched? I have the exact same cooking kit and cup 😀
Great video in a beautiful place. How do you think the starlite 2 you mentioned compare to your fjallraven abisko lite 2? I ask because I bought one after seeing how it held up in some of your stormier camps
Another brilliant and inspiriting video Al. One of my main concerns when thinking about wild camping is where to park. Just about everywhere in the Lakes states "no overnight parking"! How do you go on? I'd love to start in Glenridding and Great Langdale, but the parking issue seems to be a nightmare.
Great vid as always Al. Have you thought about the uberlite for summer use. I can get down to about 5 degrees on it before I switch up to the XTherm . I know 2 pads are bit of a luxury but the weight and pack size especially of it is really incredible and it’s almost as comfortable as the XTherm. Thanks for sharing your adventures keeps me sane in between my own 👍
Have you ever tried midge insect repellent? I recently bought some off Amazon but I haven't had the chance (or misfortune) to test it out yet. Just wondered if you knew if they were any good?
@@BUSHMANandBLUE Gonna order one it looks super snug. Will unstitch the peak too. £35 seems a bargain. Really enjoying the black top (Hoodless) I got from you first merch run. Keep loving life and spreading nature as a place we should be. All our love from the East Riding of Yorkshire :)
Have u hought about re uploading some of ur footage.... by location as kindof a reference... YT shorts style.. uv covered many popular spots better than the local tourists boards... and if u were a person trying to convince a mate they should go on a hike/camp a 30 secs clip of ur drone/handheld footage would be a good tool to convince them..ATB BM and B
Terrific video--as always. You make it look easy, which we all know it is not. Blue looked like he was desperate to go for a swim. Does he not know how to swim? Wearing a fur coat must be miserable on a hot summer day.

Why don’t you get a MR300 Thermacell that’s what a fellow you tuber AB camping in New Zealand uses it’s portable about 30 pounds from Amazon x
I’ve bought a better head net so hopefully that will work. A few people mentioned the thermacell. 👍
👋🏻
👍
Which tarn did you swim in? Trying to pi point it but just can't seem to
This is blea water. It’s nice but not the best shore line as it’s awkward.
Great vid👌🏼 I noticed you used to titanium spoon in the soloist pot. I've always been nervous and use plastic in it instead. Have you had any issues with the coating being scratched?
I have the exact same cooking kit and cup 😀
The coating is slightly scratched but I’ve had mine years and years. I love their pots.
Great video in a beautiful place. How do you think the starlite 2 you mentioned compare to your fjallraven abisko lite 2? I ask because I bought one after seeing how it held up in some of your stormier camps
Very similar in design. I think the Abisko would take bad weather (wind). I’ll have to get one and test it👍👍👍
Another brilliant and inspiriting video Al. One of my main concerns when thinking about wild camping is where to park. Just about everywhere in the Lakes states "no overnight parking"! How do you go on? I'd love to start in Glenridding and Great Langdale, but the parking issue seems to be a nightmare.
Yes it’s hard to find places but there are plenty of places road side away from the towns/villages. Winter camping is easier for parking.
beautiful place , love the drone shots 😁
Great vid as always Al. Have you thought about the uberlite for summer use. I can get down to about 5 degrees on it before I switch up to the XTherm . I know 2 pads are bit of a luxury but the weight and pack size especially of it is really incredible and it’s almost as comfortable as the XTherm. Thanks for sharing your adventures keeps me sane in between my own 👍
I have an uberlite already. I sent it back as it was faulty so they gave me a new one. It’s ridiculously lightweight 👍
Have you ever tried midge insect repellent? I recently bought some off Amazon but I haven't had the chance (or misfortune) to test it out yet. Just wondered if you knew if they were any good?
I’ve used a couple in the past which seemed to work. I don’t often pack it😂
Thank you again for taking us to places, I can only dream of going, Great job
Well I’m glad you appreciate coming along for the adventure 👍👍👍
Would a thermacell work for the midges?
Possibly! I might test one out.
Great vid AL! What size is that that dakine hoody you are wearing in the sun? Looks really good
That’s a medium. It comes with a cap peak but I got my stitch picked out and removed it👍
@@BUSHMANandBLUE Gonna order one it looks super snug. Will unstitch the peak too. £35 seems a bargain. Really enjoying the black top (Hoodless) I got from you first merch run. Keep loving life and spreading nature as a place we should be. All our love from the East Riding of Yorkshire :)
Cheers dude👊
What’s the best sleeping bag you can buy?
Who knows. It depends on the conditions. Check out PH designs👌
ur footage is getting just too good.. some of the colours and angles on them landscapes is unreal... ATB
Thanks mate. Yes I might make some shorts when I get round to it. I’ve so much beautiful footage to use👍👍👍
Terrific video--as always. You make it look easy, which we all know it is not. Blue looked like he was desperate to go for a swim. Does he not know how to swim? Wearing a fur coat must be miserable on a hot summer day.
He can swim but won’t. He just plays in the shallows. I’ve soaked him on very hot days if we go for a run. 😉
Top man
Have you tried a thermacell?
Not yet😉
Wow beautiful weather for you and Blue to have an adventure 👍. I like the new mammut gear looks real nice. Be safe and cool Al have a great day ✌️
It was perfect weather! Although walking in it was tough. Cheers Norm
Great vid, how do you find this tent in strong winds?
My next video gives it a good wind test and holds up well. I’ve not taken it out in 40mph+ yet.
is abisko lite 1 a better tent than starlite 1? for harsher weather and wind/some show?
Yes definitely. I do rate the Starlite highly though but more for 3 season use.
@@BUSHMANandBLUEbut isn't abisko flappier in the wind, rather than 2 pole tent like starlite?
