Absolutely gorgeous! I have some iridescent glitters in my nail kit that I've been wanting to use... How would I apply them and encapsulate them??? Any suggestions?
If it’s only glitter I would recommend you mix it with some clear dip powder. When applying it you would use activator in the same way you would use monomer. However u cannot encapsulate the nail using activator and clear dip powder it will not harden the nail. You will need to encapsulate with base liquid and clear dip powder. You can place a very thin layer of activator and clear first before using the base and clear to encapsulate the nail fully.
I love your channel! You inspire me to try more ambitious designs! I was very surprised to find out you are not a professional. I was recently attempting to use some glitters and had not seen this video prior to that. I really wish I had. I did not mix them with clear powder and ended up having very thick nails since I was unable to file them too much without ruining the (probably improper) encapsulation. I will continue to watch your channel before I try these things from now on!

What base are you using? Every base I use the brush always hardens no matter how much excess i brush off and wiping the brush in between steps. Lovely design x

Hello, thank you for your tutorial! Question?: Is dip powder the same powder as acrylique powder? When do you need to cure and when do you not need to cure?
Dip powder is a finer powder as compared to acrylic powder. U can use acrylic powders to do dip powder nails but u cannot use all dip powders to do acrylic nails (dip and monomer sometimes can’t wrk) U need to cure gel base coat, gel top coats and gel polishes. It will say if the product requires UV/LED to cure. Because I have a dip powder top coat called “finish gel” and it’s just a top coat for dip it doesn’t require a lamp.

The activator trick for ombré is genius...would it work for powder ? I feel like it’s dumb but I got to ask I need to find a easier way before to do ombré nails. I never subscribe but I had to for this amazing videos!

This isn’t regular top coat, this is dip powder top coat and this is a rule for using dip top coat because it can lose the shine and make your top coat look streaky and matte sometimes. So by doing three quick strokes in the first layer and then going back in to apply the top coat with more precise strokes for the second layer ensures a shiny nail.
I'm loving this, even tho I love all your work. You expire me to try different things with dip powder. I need to work on how to do the apex on my nails with dip.🤦
In my opinion, yes! It’s sometimes difficult to get the monomer to powder ratio and monomer smells. There is a learning curve to using dip powders but it’s still easier. Also, acrylic powders can be used as dip powders.
Encapsulate means to apply layers of clear powder to protect the glitters and the marble when filing the nail. If I didn’t apply layers of clear powder, I would file into my glitter and marble design and then there would be no design 😅 so I’m basically encasing my designs to protect them 😊
I would rather do the dip power then the gel i already ordered some gel i have to see how it work and if i would like it but i like how the dip power looks

Thanks, remember to use the base glue after the activator method or else the nail wouldn't harden and you wouldn't be able to file.

I started out with the brush on glue and hated it. I changed to the uv base coat like you use with polygel and it was a total game changer.

Yeah because I’m using gel top coat, if I was using dip powder top coat I would have to wait for it to dry.

You can use base glue and an ombré brush. Apply the base to your nails and sprinkle the glitter on your nail with the brush.

You don't buff your nails after putting on the powder
I only use a 100/180 grit file to file my nails 🤷🏽♀️ I also use an efile, forgot to mention that.
