Imo I think this is the episode where you grasp that Brendan loves Steven with every inch of his being. He realizes how much his kids mean to him and is willing to give Steven up and move out of flat (with the possibility of moving back in with chez and Seamus) just because amy doesn't want him around the kids. Brendan, you're ripping my heart out!!!! 😭
That was a shitty thing for Amy to do to Ste but at the same time it is 100% understandable. Brendan's world is dangerous. We already know this by Walker lurking about and Ste was never going to let Brendan go so it is just a sad fucked up situation all around :(
Amy taking the kids away is by far the saddest thing that I saw in Ste's SL. I shed tears over that! God, Amy can't you see it's the idea of being appart from his kids that brings out the worse in Ste, don't you remember how he almost beat Lee up b/c he wanted to sepparate them! His kids are his everything! I remember I felt so heartbroken when, drunked, he called out "Kids!" In an empty house not so long ago... :( Amy, you used to be so sweet! Why so heartless! Brendan, he understands Ste more than anyone, he was ready to give up on him, AFTER ALL THAT THEY'VE BEEN THROUGH!!! That's damn selfless. Amy please, bring back the kids! Please!!!!

Another amazing episode, I am really going to miss Leah and the relationship her and Brendan have which I honestly adore. Even though Brendan is a father he was never fatherly to his kids so to see him like this with Leah is really beautiful. Neil Newbon is a fantastic actor so if anyone has to play a part in Brendan's exiting storyline, I'm glad it's him. Not many other soap actors can keep up with Emmett. P.S Two thumbs up to Kieron, he nailed it.

I don't have anything against 'stug' or their fans but you'll need to realize that no matter what stendan is forever. as per words of douglas-- ' you two ( meaning brendan and steven) were always gonna get there in the end, I just got in the way for a little while'. I think those were the best lines douglas ever said throughout his time at hollyoaks!!! stendan is GOLD and stug is a mere fifth place!
I can't tell you how much I agree with you. I so love Ste Hay. My disappointment in Amy Barns is beyond belief. She is so wrong, she always makes Ste pay for his past, and to think, Ste still loves this lady. Steven has such a heart of gold. I can't help it, I simply hate her for what she continues to do to this man. This man has been so giving to and of himself to this lady and all she ever does is hurt him. I started watching this show since they were in high school. Even when Steven was hitting her it had nothing to do with his love for her, he was just messed up. the sad thing about the ep. is that it's the last time the kid's work with Kieron & Emmett. It was so cute the last few eps. It makes your eyes welt-up when you think about it.
Neither Brendan, Ste, Amy & Neil is at fault. If the situation were to switch amongst the four of them, I think they will react the same as now. Each has his/her own reason of acting this way.

And my complaint was more directed towards the writers for not including a hugging scene, not at Brendan as a character. I wish they would have allowed Brendan to hold Ste as he cried for his children, much like Ste held Brendan as Lindsay lie dead in the middle of the street.

Imagine, down the road, Bendan somehow finds out about walker and Amy and goes to save their lives putting his life in danger only to make Amy realize how much Brendan has changed as a caring and loving human being. I just feel like Brendan is going to leave the show as a hero in everyones eyes! Oooooohhhhh, the anticipation is killing me!!!!
I thought by now you understood that Brendan is not a conventional man! He would not have held Ste like that, Brendan is not that close to his kids! And he doesn't understand that kind of a dynamic between a father and his children! Brendan is a different dad to his children, than his dad was to him! But he is not the kind of dad that Ste is, to his kids! Being with Ste has helped Brendan understand how a dad is suppose to be to his kids! And the fact that he is so close to Leah has helped!
It's so sad the see Ste hurt like this. Because he loves a man that other fear or dis-like; he loses the two most important things in his life; torn away from him. @alwaysuseless After Ste and Brendan's first bedscene, Ste is resting on Bren's chest and has his arm around him. So I'd say no. I was disappointed that they didn't show Brendan holding Ste after Amy leaves in the cab. Missed opportunities there.
He wasn't pushing Ste away. He was trying to do the right thing so Ste wcould have his kids. He will do anything for Ste and if it means staying away or taking a bullet for him he will do it. Those are Ste's kids. Whether biological or not. Brendan will not come between a parent and their child or children.
Ste knew that if he went with Amy, he would no doubt still be miserable. He loves Brendan too much to leave him, that much is very clear. What an awful decision to have to make. A very very difficult dilema to be in indeed. Yes, i too wish to have seen Brendan cuddle and comfort Ste in the end. Where was the magic? I didn't feel it this time.
I know that people wanted Brendan to comfort Ste and think it was a missed romantic moment between the two of them but there is nothing romantic about losing your kids. Good on 'Oaks for not going there.

Gah, I was dissapiointed in this scene :( I thought Brendan was gonna at least comfort Ste, knowing his heart was breaking. I wanted some cuddling and reassurance that Brendan would pay for Ste to visit his kids. Coulda been a really romantic moment. If I were in Amy's shoes and saw how Brendan beat Ste and threatened me while I was in the hospital I would've taken the kids too. Ste is a parent and who he chooses to be in a relationship matters. No way in hell I'd ever want my kids around Brendan.

This just seriously broke my heart. Poor Ste, I understand Amy's reasons because it is Brendan Brady and Walker is out for revenge but it does change the fact that its horrible to see the kids taken away from Ste.

Gah, I was dissapiointed in this scene :( I thought Brendan was gonna at least comfort Ste, knowing his heart was breaking. I wanted some cuddling and reassurance that Brendan would pay for Ste to visit his kids. Coulda been a really romantic moment. I guess Brendan was willing to sacrifice his happiness to let Ste go, but still...

If I were in Amy's shoes and saw how Brendan beat Ste and threatened me while I was in the hospital I would've taken the kids too. Ste is a parent and who he chooses to be in a relationship matters. No way in hell I'd ever want my kids around Brendan.

I used to love Amy but she really pissed me off in this episode. Shes just so judgmental and cold now..maybe it is also the acting on the actresses' part cause even the times she was trying to be comforting towards Ste, it came off really weak..Poor Ste..his scene scenes were heartbreaking esp. when he told the kids to blow kisses to him. God, Amy how could you ? How long are people gonna make Brendan pay for being the person he used to be? and even then he was not evil, just had issues .
Screw that shit, she most definitely is being illogical and unreasonable. That's not motherly concern, bullshit, that's comes out of simple bias hatred towards Brendan. Her whole rational is totally illogical. There's just no damn rational reason why Steven can't keep those kids.
Her whole illogical rational is toxic. She can't see the forest for the trees. In the same way she simply can't see how completely Brendan has changed and how much he truly loves Steven and would do anything to protect him. Her hatred has blinded her from any ability to see and understand just how much Steven loves Brendan.
Yep you're right, Brendan is a dangerous man, and danger seems to follow him. But that's the game of life we'er all playing in, whether we like it or not. Shit happens.The real problem with Any is that she's still on her self righteous high horse. After all those years of being a fucking bad mother, she get one brief single moment of clarity and she all of a sudden thinks she's better then Steven.
Despite all the shit Steven has done and has gone through, he still remains the absolute best dad to those kids this world has ever seen. There's just no way that Steven would knowingly put those kids in danger. Amy just needs to grow up, and go Kick Rocks !

Poor Ste, I understand Amy's reasons because it is Brendan Brady and Walker is out for revenge but it does change the fact that its horrible to see the kids taken away from Ste.

Something occurred to me! The Simon that Amy keeps talking about! This man she went to Africa with,that's kind! Could she be talking about Simon Walker? The man that is trying to hurt Brendan, and destroy his and Ste's relationship? Steven I feel your pain love! I know how attached you are to your children, and how much you love them! And Brendan! You continually manage to surprise me how selfless you've become! The fact that you love Steven enough to put his happiness first! Is amazing to me!
