something i noticed during the Courage v Wave match in NC was that we were pushing Rauch, our LB, far up into the midfield and Gomes was going wide to the sideline. this was giving us numerical advantages to play through and didnt get punished really until Shaw came on. in the first half a large portion of the attacks were going through the Wave's left side and with Rauch pushing up on our left side it was almost as if we were inviting the pressure on the other side of the field to get the ball away from Sanchez.

Great spot, I just went back and rewatched a little and I'm amazed to see the Courage reset the ball to the back in that look and start their build again. Intentional and with confidence! The team's great at creating the geometry they want.

enjoyed the thoughts. wonder if you have any interest in doing the same for UWCL matches. couple of very good matchups past couple of days. as much as NWSL is my home league to watch, Europe of course has some of the best club teams in the world playing each other right now. good vibes.

Angel City got utterly robbed. Why should a team playing its heart out be punished in the standings when it's the front office who broke the rules? How 'bout maybe lower their salary cap for next season, and make it hurt a little more by making it a couple million dollars? Wow! Did not see that Dibernardo free kick. Thing of beauty. Confession, i did not bother to watch that game because i am utterly sick of watching Chawinga score like a german clock ticks (i'm no fun, am i?). In spite of the Bay FC loss, they played a very good first half+, and have really made an impression on me. I hope they make the playoffs because i know they can advance. I'm with you on the Royals! GO Sentnor GO

Great solution, something like that focused on next year seems easy enough. It’s a strange decision for the players and the fans given how they’ve looked recently.

because the financials ultimately give them an advantage on the field. its only three points and when the season is done i expect angel city to be further than three points outside of playoffs. its actually such a small slap on the wrist for something like this.

If angel city was able to sign players they wouldn’t have been able to sign bc they offered side letters putting them over the salary cap then it absolutely makes sense they would be docked points. Also why would those 5 players think side letters were allowed in a league with a salary cap. It is a clear breaking rules to get an advantage idk why everyone thinks there should be no pt deductions. We can argue is 3 too many but its breaking rules for a sporting advantage that is classic deduct points crime.

I think it just feels like such a predictable problem. The salaries are moving quickly each year, the teams are in really different geographies. But fair I don't know how a supplemental agreement for benefits outside a contract wouldn't seem unusual to at bare minimum a player's agent.
