I think there's a mistake on the vitamin K side of the cycle at 14:20. The active form should be hydroquinone, not quinone. There's also a missing reaction: Hydroquinone (active) -> Vit k epoxide (inactive) -> Quinone (inactive) -> Hydroquinone again (active).
Wow I've got even more respect for doctors now who learn all this info to pass their exams, there's a lot to learn &.remember! Great video by the way 👏
It's been proven a newborn gut is NOT sterile. The womb is also not sterile. In the absence of intervention, it is very healthy and full of flora to help absorb vitamins. If the mom took antibiotics in pregnancy or during labor then the infant gut is definitely not as healthy as it should be. All newborns being given erythromycin eye ointment also reduces their gut health.
Very good content, really appreciate it. One point though, in Sherwood's physiology it's written triglycerides are broken down into FFAs and monoglycerides, are you sure it can also be further broken down to glyceride? (in the intestines of course )
You're correct! I just said glycerides for simplification purposes. If you look closely in the video at minute 08:57, you will see it written in a gray color. Hope it helps!
I wish you got an answer. I have the same issue. Been taking vit D3 1000 units vit k2 120 mcg both in the same capsule in dosage of 6 to 12 per day for a while.
I am not a doctor by any means , but I have had the same exact issue . Due to all of my research and then some , you are supposed to only take 100 mcg of vitamin k 2 for 8,000 iu to 10,000 iu of vitamin D3
I am a visual and I'm amazed.. so interesting can we find out whether we have enough vit K2 or not without checking the blood level of it? i've been taking high dose of vit D without vit K2 which is needed to avoid the blood vessel calsification. will it help if i start taking it now?
21:42 MGP is not group of proteins like you put (Matrix Gla Proteins) but it should be (Matrix Gla protein) because it is a single protein with gene symbol MGP. There are other GLA containing proteins not mentioned here too like UCMA, POSTN, PRRG1,2, 3,4, TSPAN7,...
I have High hemaglobin b values and Low vitamin k in 2 different tests i have Done. How does this make sense i have thick blood but with vitamin k defiency should be thin blood right? can i adress my k defiency while having thick blood because if i take vitamin k doesn’t my blood get even thicker?
Hey LanYu! Good question! It's a false dichotomy...Nothing is true categorically, everything is incremental. There are pros and cons to everything! For a young person who can be aware of their diet, then natural foods are great. For an old person who has cognitive impairment and fallen teeth, supplements are a better option. For a person who doesn't wash fruits and vegetables properly, supplements may be the way to go, becuase there is a lower risk of contamination. For a person who wants to receive a constant, optimal amount of micronutrients everyday for life, then one tablet of multivitamins a day is not a bad idea. Hope it helps! Thank you so much for watching my videos!

i have been taking vit. k2 along with magnesium and vit. d. a couple of months into it I have noticed that my eyesight is becoming more and more blurry. I stopped taking vit. k2 for a few days and noticed improvement in my sight. could it be that it is connected to my fatty liver?
I have good Vit K1, good K2 (MK-4) and non existant levels of K2 (MK-7). I eat a lot of dairy products. Is this a problem? I want to solve my coagulation problem so that I could have surgery.

For the question 1: Since Coag factor ll, Vll, lX and X are Vit K dependent and produced by liver, so PT & aPTT test should be performed
Yes, but both tests are prolonged in either disease. So, how can you differentiate?

Due to reducing property of vit c it can convert ferric form of iron to ferrous form, thus used in tx. of methemoglobinemia
#1 tx for methemoglobinemia is Methylene blue, vit c probably acts as an electron donator to iron and copper, which may be why...

Hi can I take probiotics and Vitamin K2 (55mcg) supplement? Would it result in excesss of Vitamin K2 because of the probiotics?
Since it prevents soft tissue calcification, would it also help with peyronie's disease?
I don’t know 🤷♂️
