I listened Canção do Mar from Dulce Pontes and it is beautiful. I like the highly embellished and agonizing depiction of love and yearning, along with unrequited love, grief and pain of "Fado Português". My favorite song is "Aranjuez, mon Amour" from Amália Rodrigues.

For "Know" and "Hello" (and maybe next songs...): These "mellismas" and "riffs" cames from old Turkic tribes and Seljuks, Ottomans... This technique named "makam" or "mugam" and very hard. (İndia countries were under the dominition of Turkic Babur Empire more than 300 years. Arabic countries were under the dominition of Ottoman Empire more than 400 years. They were learned -little bit- this kind of styles from Turks. ) Sufi music a small part of makams. Also Tuvan throat singing "khoomei" is different antic Turkic style. Mr. Kudaibergen used "khoomei" singing technique in "Sinfull passion". You can hear it from the all Turan group. Tuvan throat singing (Khoomei,xöömei in Tuvan) is one particular variant of overtone singing practiced by people in Turkic Tribes (one of them Tuva), Mongolia, Inner Mongolia and Siberia. Dimash's father explaned it. Consequently, the source of "riffs and runs" is from his own culture.
Makam: A musical braid in Turkish Music in which a variety of sounds come together and complete. Makam is the most important concept in Ottoman-Turkish music as in all modal musical traditions; in other words, the usul, rhythm is of secondary importance since a melody can fulfil the requirements of a makam without being subject to restrictions of rhythm. As a matter of fact, musical forms or performance with no fixed rhythm constitute a significant aspect Turkish music. Though its roots are in Central Asia, a unique and advanced level of makam music is apparent in Turkic music, which spread throughout the Mediterranean basin. It is used in singing, healing the illness and praying. For example : Azan (the Muslim call to ritual prayer, typically made by a muezzin from the minaret of a mosque) is recited with "15 different makams" just in Turkic countries. Over four hundred makams exist in Turkish music; however the vast majority of these are no longer in use today. Dimash is a citizen of Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is a Turkic country. Normally he knows the "mellismas". And he got his Master degree in music composition.
As far as I know, Dimash has studied "makams" with his vocal teacher Marat Aitimov for years. Makams are one of them the Dimash's secret weapons.
Anglo-Saxon language is not my mother tongue so I have mistakes. I am a amateur soprano coloratura and a linguist but I prefer studying Sumerian than Anglo now.

I was 32 when Lionel Ritchie performed Hello for the first time in 1983. Couldn't stop singing that song! Here we are 37 years later and Dimash has completely taken over this song...it is simply incredible....and I'm now singing his version! Hello. From Brazil. Another amazing presentation by Dimash. This Kazakh flute included in the harmony was wonderful. As for the language, we "Dears" usually say that we love it when he sings in "Denglish" kkk. I love it when he in a piece of music changes the language of the words "I love you in English for words in Chinese. A special affection for the competition audience and for all viewers of the program in China. This happened when you called out to him "tell me !, tell me!" kkk And at the end too. And still sing those words in Kazakh. I really loved your fun comments about the interpretation of the song. Dimash really tortures the women who hear him sing that way. I enjoy watching your reactions to Dimash, and I knew you'd be completely mindblown when you've finally decided to do this one! You met my expectations completely, as I knew you'd be replaying the same section I was replaying when I first heard it. Arabic melismas in this one are simply totally enchanting and incredible! My Dimash journey started in 2017, and I heard this song in 2018, and he was still able to shock and surprise me, and he still does it! He's truly the best singer in the world, great and respectable artist! I love it when I play his songs to some people I know and get the same/similar reaction from them as mine.
